Sadly, due to personal reasons, we're shutting down Scraps and Patches. We enjoyed working on this project, but it's not going to go forward any time soon, and we don't feel right leaving it up for sale.
Feel free to request refunds, they should all go through.

Version 0.1.4. Elbow grease!
Lots of new things coming down the pipe with this update.

First of all, we added instructions into the main menu. We had many complaints from first time users that they simply didn't know how to play, so hopefully the "How to Play" button will address this need for now. It's definitely an "early access" fix, not a fix for the final game. :)

Many bugs have also been squashed, and the game has been updated to work with the new version of Godot, Godot v3.1, which is super nice and we're happy to be using it.

The animations are much chunkier and nicer, for example:



And the game just generally runs smoother, which equals more fun! Almost every unit in the game has been reskinned and rebuilt at this point, for a prettier, smoother, and more enjoyable experience.

Also, a word to the wise: never underestimate the big robots. I was pretty confident with this army, so I charged in to take some big bots down:



It didn't go so well.



Sometimes the only way to win the day is to run away.

This update is simply a bunch of balance updates for Endless Mode—It's still far from balanced, but we're slowly moving the needle from "crushing difficulty spikes" to "moderately crushing difficulty spikes".

Also, Discord! We have a Discord channel where we are posting snippets of the development, additional announcements, and also just generally hanging out. You can also join your favorite technomantic (is that a word?) army, if you so please. Come join us!

Scraps and Patches is a new strategic army-building game from Doubtful Games. You command a giant army of robots, and your mission is to subdue other armies of robots - and when you do, you can install your own software and get them to fight for your side. Grow your army, send self-destructing robots flying into the enemy ranks – the world has been hacked, and needs patching.
