In the wait for the next real major update, it is now possible to visit The Beginning place.
This hub like place is the point from where player's explorations will start, as soon as the core exploration game systems will be available. For now you can already familiarize with this environment but there is no gameplay except for basic movements. The goal is to have a visually attractive foundation on which to expand, experiment and develop content and features in the future.
Unlike previous version of SenS which were running on UE4, this one is built using Unreal Engine 5 and introduce nice visual features, mainly enhancing lighting.
Hopefully this simple visit will give you a glimpse to the some kind of environments and atmospheres that can be discovered in SenS, and will help you to wait for the next update.
Old SenS version is still the main one at the moment, so to access this build, you have to select the beta branch, using the password "senspublicpreview".
Developement resumed + video devlogs.

SenS development resumed in 2024 after a long pause due to many reasons... I also finally started to make video devlogs! The first one explains what happened in 2023, why the dev was in pause, and clarifications on the current situation, in addition to a presentation of SenS current state and intentions for the close future.
SenS devlogs are accompanied with another video series: MakeSenS. That series is focused on game development technical aspects, showing and explaining, with step by step tutorials, how are created assets and system the game is using. Explaining the reasons for game design decisions and how gameplay intentions are manifested in SenS by making features and game's elements. A good way to follow the development and to learn about Unreal Engine and about the many aspects of game creation, such as level design, level art, code, lightning, animation, sound design, UI, and more...
MakeSenS devlogs are for people interested in game development and eager to learn how to create games, while SenS devlogs are more suited for players, as I'm talking about intentions, showing dev progresses and demonstrating new features from a gamer perspective.
For people who already played SenS and its updates, there is no new build to try for now. I switched game engine, from UE4 previously to UE5 now. The necessity to make a port of the important components and assets explains why at the moment, no new build has been released yet. It will come soon enough, then you'll be able to experience the reworked core gameplay and to explore new environments.
For people who never played SenS, there is plenty of content to explore currently, but the game is in a very early stage of production. What you can play now isn't representative of the final game, not even a good demonstration of the core features that are currently still in development. That's why I recommend people to buy SenS only to experiment and test the game periodically while updates are published. A way to follow the progresses, to shares your feedback and an opportunity to propose ideas. It's also a way to support and contribute to the development.

This update introduce the new unified Structure exploration system, allowing players to visualize and explore the material and abstract structures. Reshape the world architecture by materializing new places: unlock access to these places by exploring the abstract structure and using the Light Elements. Explores the discovered areas to improve capacities, get new ones, and get access to new abstract structure elements, allowing for further exploration...

Keep in mind this is still prototyping phase, what you can play now doesn't reflect the quality and content to be in the final game. Feedback and comments are welcome on the game's forum and will help improving the game.

-DevLog-002: Unstable Zones added Discover the "Unstable Zones", a new gameplay feature explained in this Devlog, including demonstration examples scenes and development history.
-Simplified the body stances controls: Removed "Bent" stance; Now just pressing the button allows to go "Crouch" then back to "Stand"; Holding the button allows to go "Prone" then back to "Stand".
-In main menu, added possibility to start game directly in the "WIP" level to play exploration and experimentation prototype sections.
-"WIP" level graphical improvements.

-New feature/bug fix(maybe): Priority sorting system for STE's "function components", allowing to determine the order at which functions are executed. Possibly fixes the "Yellow screen of death" issue some people are experiencing. This issue seems to be caused by too slow hard drive and/or too low specs computer as far as I can deduct based on the concerned players feedback. I can't reproduce it, so it's only a deduction. Will see if this update fix it, if not this new feature is a good addition and will be useful anyways.

-Attempts to fix issues: stuck after exiting "The Empty Room"; "Yellow screen of death"; black screen at the game end instead of going back to main menu. "Attempts" as I wasn't able to reproduce the issues but made some adjustments possibly fixing the bugs.
-Disabled Steam VR plugin in UE, as it was automatically launching Steam VR while not used by the game now.
-Slightly adjusted the timing for interactible texts where it has no impact on desired flow pace.
-Typo fix.
-Slightly increased texts outlines opacity for better readability in brightfull environments.
