Here's another update for tonight! Huge thanks to everyone who is providing feedback on our bug reporter and the Steam forums. Next update we'll be introducing some exciting new modding features (albeit in limited state), so look forward to that!


  • Fixed Steam Workshop not downloading more than 1 item at a time
  • Added a lot of options to the Game Options menu
  • Fixed mouse locking up Xbox controller input in menus
  • Fixed Xbox controllers not working when playing in a server you aren't hosting yourself
  • Fixed Start button on Xbox controllers not opening the menu
  • Fixed a crash when trying to start Control Zone gamemode
  • Fixed some problems with the Steam Workshop upload dialog
  • Fixed default weapon display positions for widescreen being weird, modifier values provided by Steam community member Spazmatism
  • Weapon view console variables are now saved after closing the game
  • Fixed formatted text positions on screen being wrong in case of strange characters
  • Fixed formatted text cutting off after unknown formatting characters
  • Added Quake color codes to text formatting (^1, ^2, ... ^7) because it's a common trait for Steam users
  • Hopefully fixed a problem where more than 16 players couldn't actually join servers
  • The achievements "Too Serious For Weapons", "Guns Are Seriously Useless", "Who Needs Kills Anyway", "That All You Got" and "Jumping Is Overrated" can now only be triggered in single player
  • Added thumbnails to HUD themes
  • Fixed demo playback always saying "Waiting for connection"
  • Impossible achievement is now impossible to achieve. Or is it? We're not entirely sure, but I heard someone talk about very low amounts of health.

Following some really positive feedback on the last update, we're now presenting our (smaller than usual) update for today. As the most common critical bugs have been resolved, we can slowly start working towards bringing you even more content to enjoy.

  • Fixed teams getting score when lying dead in a control zone
  • Fixed enemies getting stuck at the end of Land of the Damned
  • Fixed secrets on Sand Canyon being too difficult to get to or too hard to see, also fixed a teleporter not working corrently
  • gam_bUseSteamNames can now be used to show player's Steam names instead of their game profile names
  • Added "Direct Connect" to multiplayer menu for connecting to servers directly without the serverlist
  • Fixed Steam friends window not showing the correct gameserver info when clicking on "View server info"
  • New HQ thumbnails provided by community member DMI-1407
  • Serious Editor now creates HQ thumbnails at 512px by default
  • Fixed a bug with the cannon in Yodeller where players could hide inside of it
  • Fixed wrong key in Courtyards of Gilgamesh
  • Fixed player model in player options menu being stretched out on widescreen displays

We've been roaming around with you in servers, and we've heard you loud and clear. We got all bugs lined up in our bugreporter and bringing you daily fixes to the most common problems.


  • Survival levels now have medals!
  • Fixed getting stuck in Sacred Yards, Elephant Atrium and Tower of Babel
  • Fixed survival multiplayer bugs and glitches, it can now be played continuously restart after restart
  • Fixed "unpure client" message due to pure mode always being enabled, it must now be explicitly enabled by servers if they wish to use this
  • Fixed not being able to join servers because of "Server full" while the server is actually not full
  • Fixed not being possible to unsubscribe from Workshop items (you might have to clean up the Workshop folder manually (located in your game folder) if you previously had problems with this)
  • Fixed several random crashes in editor and game
  • Fixed dedicated server freezing at "Steam packet of size ... received for client 0"
  • Fixed broken world link between Great Pyramid and Palenque
  • Fixed "Bouncy Survival" and "Who needs kills anyway" achievements not working
  • Fixed Palenque and Palenque Demo starting out with old weapons if switching from a previous level
  • Fixed breaking the final cutscene camera in Great Pyramid
  • Fixed several issues in Hole versus map
  • Fixed several survival exploits (and cleaned up leaderboards a bit as a result)
  • Fixed crash when using lower quality lensflares
  • Fixed some typos
  • Added a colored Beamgun icon for classic HUD
  • Added dedicated server XML tag printing for playerjoined and playerleft
  • Added a few commonly used crosshair settings in the options menu
  • Fixed a few problems with default Serious Editor layout (open regedit and delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CroTeam\WorldEditor before starting the editor if you were having problems with this)

So we've been reading the forums and going through our bug reports that you guys have been sending in, and we've come to a conclusion: we have a new update. Fixed a couple critical things in this update, including workshop and networking stuff.

Here's a list!


  • Fixed some glitched textures in some First Encounter and versus levels introduced with the last patch
  • Fixed dedicated servers reporting "Steam authentication failed" in some more cases
  • Fixed a bunch of Steam lobby instabilities, it should be a lot more stable now
  • Fixed the "Server visible" option not working when starting a lobby
  • Fixed default controls to allow for entering Netrcisa
  • Fixed backpacks on the Great Pyramid level
  • Fixed a problem with an achievement on Oasis
  • Fixed a problem where the game would try to use its non-existing Direct3D API
  • Fixed level linking from Great Pyramid to Sierra de Chiapas not working
  • Fixed Netricsa view for the Commando enemy
  • Fixed a bunch of typos

Following today's launch, we're incredibly thankful for all the criticism, feedback and reports. Your feedback is important to us, so we have worked hard today to bring you our very first update!

We'd also like to note that currently, clicking "Join game" in a Steam chat window or when right clicking on a Steam friend's name and clicking on "Join game" there is currently not working yet, but it will be in the next update. Until then, simply use the serverlist to find the lobby or server you want to join and click on it to join.
