Serpent Fusion

QOL Update

Hello!

This will probably be one of the final updates to Serpent Fusion, as I'll soon be busy with college and I've fixed most of the things I didn't like in previous updates.

Thanks for playing and all the support!

Changelog:
- Improved aliasing issues with grid (especially in the map)
- Added delay for movement when a level is started or finished
- Fixed a bug with the volume and fx sliders where they would not load from saved settings

Quality of Life/Bugfix Update

Hello All,

This is mainly a bugfix update. Achievements should work now (if you are missing an achievement because of a bug, doing any level should give it to you). I also fixed many other bugs and made some minor visual tweaks.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a bug where pushing a box over water when entering a level softlocked your save file
  • Fixed a bug where if you were a 2-box-long snake you could get a box to phase into your character by using a gate
  • Fixed a bug where you could push a box after it sunk
  • Fixed conditions for getting -1 and + achievements
  • Fixed a bug where the resolution and other default options were not applied correctly unless you entered the options menu

Quality of life changes

  • Zoomed out the map for better visibility
  • Added some floating particles in the background for visual interest

Changed levels aesthetically to remove long water pools in front of gates (no changes to the solutions)

  • Oblate
  • Gyroelongation
  • Nebula
  • Pulsar
  • Quasar
  • Ectoplasm
  • Dagobah
  • Artifact
  • Pitcher
  • Pushing Force
  • Accede
  • Jiggle Bone
  • Fortitude
  • Sprawl
  • Decoagulant

The Boomslang Update

Hello All,

I recently learned that the boomslang is a type of snake, and they look so cool that I had to name this update after them.

To make the flow of the levels more logical, I added five more introductory levels and rearranged the order of the levels to provide a smoother difficulty curve. Then because of the new level ordering, I updated the map to make the intended completion path more clear.

I couldn’t resist throwing in some harder puzzles too. Try them if you dare! Note that if you did the thanks or secret levels, they will be removed from your snake and placed in their new map positions because I completely changed them.

Level changes

  • Added new tutorial levels - The Test (level 4), Small Hallway (5), Slider (6), Chessboard (7), Antenna (8)
  • Added new hard levels - Padlock (67), Do You Love Picross? (68), and ???. I replaced the old thanks level with "Do You Love Picross?" and the old secret level with "???"
  • Sprawl (64) was slightly changed to make the level easier to see

Other changes

  • All the levels (especially the non-gate puzzles) were completely reordered, and the map was updated to fit this
  • Moved the gray x that appears when a gate is unsatisfied behind the gate text so that the number on the gate is a little easier to read
  • Fixed a game-crashing bug involving unsatisfied gates moving boxes when pushed
  • Fixed a bug where the internal direction of the one-block-long snake did not match the displayed direction at the start of the map
  • Added water around levels 2 and 3 so that they cannot be pushed into the snake’s reset position
  • Added the feature that the snake is sorted by level number when reset
  • Decreased the size of the level name text slightly so that it wouldn’t cover level tiles
  • Made some changes to the storage format of the levels and the save file, there shouldn’t be any visible differences though
