Shadow Puppeteer

Shadow Puppeteer Developer Stream!

Welcome to the mystical world of Shadow Puppeteer, where you join the adventures of the boy and his shadow.

Invite a friend to explore the strange, yet beautiful world of darkness and light
in Shadow Puppeteer, an award-winning, local co-op adventure.

In this livestream, we will be playing Shadow Puppeteer with the developer team and new Sarepta members (who will join a blind playthrough!). We also will be testing the new "Remote Play Together" function of Steam and will play the game with community members.

What is Shadow Puppeteer?
Shadow Puppeteer is the very first game of Sarepta studio where you assume the roles of a boy and his shadow, separated from one another by the evil shadow puppeteer.

In this co-op adventure, you work together to manipulate light, solving puzzles that bring you closer to finding this villain and freeing other shadows he has stolen.

Who is Sarepta studio?
We are the people behind awards winning games like Shadow Puppeteer & My Child Lebensborn! Also, we are the people you'll see in this livestream. At Sarepta, we enjoy creating emotional and atmospheric games that stay with you even after the gameplay is done. In other words - we enjoy making people cry and feel emotions through our games :p

Why are you doing this stream?
If you haven't notice, there is a HUGE steam event going on right now! Since we are going through times where it is a bit harder to get together with friends and game on the same couch, we wanted to promote Steam's "Remote Play Together" feature through Shadow Puppeteer.

We also enjoy talking about our first game, so bring on the questions!

By the way, there is a big discount going on for the game if you are interested in testing it yourself.

We are very excited to meet you on Friday (26th) 18:00 CET!

Spend Valentine’s with Your Player Two for 10% Off

To celebrate Valentine’s Day and the love two people feel for one another when they game in shared-screen co-op, we are putting Shadow Puppeteer on sale. From now through Monday (Feb. 15), Shadow Puppeteer will be 10% off.

We hope you enjoy this opportunity to spend quality time with your loved one co-oping together, and humbly suggest putting your savings toward making your date even more awesome with chocolates, flowers or one of those giant cookie things that we say is gross, but all secretly love.

Soundtrack Now Available, plus a Performance Update

After releasing Shadow Puppeteer on Wii U yesterday, we wanted to take a moment to thank the Steam community for your continued support and feedback on our game. Whether positive or negative, we take this feedback seriously and have used it to continuously improve Shadow Puppeteer since the game launched on Steam in 2014.

To show our appreciation for your support, we have released two Shadow Puppeteer-related updates on Steam, both of which are based on your feedback. They are the following:

  1. SHADOW PUPPETEER SOUNDTRACK

Many of you have commented on how much you enjoy the music from Shadow Puppeteer and have asked whether we will make it available. Well, we have. The soundtrack, composed by Ragnhild Tronsmo Haugland, a classically trained musician/composer, and directed by Peter McConnell (Grim Fandango Remastered, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare and Star Wars: The Old Republic), is a collection of over 20 original scores, plus 20 "bonus tracks" taken directly from the game. It is now available on Steam for $2.99.

  2. UPDATE #6
Today’s update is largely focused on optimization and performance, as well as the addition of some pretty loading screens :) Below are the details of this release.

    Optimization

    • Implemented occlusion culling
    • Static batched more assets
    • Decreased shadowcasting on smaller objects
    • Optimized particles
    • Compressed meshes at a higher level
    • Reduced camera draw distance
    • Removed distance fog

    Additions

    • Improved thread death effect
    • Added loading screen artwork

    Fixes

    • Removed bugs from pickups in the Cat level
    • Fixed re-mapping of keyboard not working

    Gameplay Changes

    • Added platforms in between moveable platforms in the Smelting Room level
    • Adjusted cameras in level illumination

Again, thank you for your continued support and we hope you enjoy the updates!
