Sharknado VR: Eye of the Storm

The Big 1.0.6 Patch

We have been busy cooking up some nice changes

loads of changes have been applied to the steam version of the game as we prepare to release Sharknado VR on the oculus store, and soon after PSVR.
Many of the changes and patches will be applied to all versions of course,
here is the list of the most relevant changes:

Patch Notes for 1.0.6

There were many many changes applied before this patch that will be included in these notes as we have done several builds in the last week.

- Fixed many performance issues

- Added some post processing effects which darken the game

- fixed an issue where you could shoot your other hand with explosives and hurt/kill yourself

- Adjusted lighting and destructible objects across all levels

- fixed several texture / mesh issues

- fixed a bug which would cause the oculus to lag on returning to the menu

- fixed an issue which caused lamp posts to destroy themselves at the beginning of level 2

- fixed Great white sharks' lower jaw colliding through their heads

- Updated the player's hand models

- Made the tornado itself prettier

- Added Shark rectification objects which help guide the sharks to the play area near barricades and barriers (we are continuing to adjust how sharks will enter the play area as in some spawn locations they have much more trouble than others)

- Added oculus overlay system for a cleaner UI (only applies to oculus users)

- Fixed citizens taking too much damage (they now survive longer)

- Fixed Shark chunks on kill appearing at wrong angles

- Updated many gun models/textures (we will most likely be doing more to the weapons later on as well)

- Fixed Palm leaves/ tree branches to display correctly from both sides, and in various different lighting scenarios (using double sided materials/shaders)

- and many more minor tweaks and changes to small to mention!

Stay tuned for more as we continue development on the other versions of Sharknado VR, all the positive changes that go into the other platforms will be shared on the other ones if possible (which is usually the case).

Have a good one!
