Last Stand pack released
A free update for Shattered Horizon is now available. The game will update automatically. The update adds the Last Stand pack, a free expansion that includes single player, online co-op and a new game mode.

  • Choose the number of bots and set the difficulty level, play for fun or challenge yourself to improve.
  • Play the new Last Stand game mode which pits a team of four against waves of increasingly difficult bot enemies.

We're putting the final touches on our next expansion for Shattered Horizon which will be called ...

The Last Stand Pack

  • Play all game types - Battle, Assault and Skirmish - in single player mode with bots, you don't even need an internet connection.
  • Set the number of bots and the difficulty level, take it easy for fun or challenge yourself to improve.
  • Play the new Last Stand game mode, which pits a team of four against waves of increasingly difficult bot enemies.
  • Last Stand can be played with bots on your team in single player, or with friends in online co-op.
  • Server hosts can add and configure bots for regular multiplayer games. Bots will leave the game to make room for real players, and rejoin to make up team numbers.

The Last Stand pack is perfect for learning the game, practising to improve or just playing for fun. As with all previous expansion packs for Shattered Horizon, Last Stand will be free for all players. Although we are not announcing the launch date just yet you can expect the pack to be released before the end of the month.

Open Bot Beta - bot version 0.3 update
We have just updated the bots running on the open bot beta servers. The update happens on our side so you won't need to download anything from Steam in order to play against the new bots. The new bots are live now on EU beta servers. The US beta servers will be updated this evening.

Bot version 0.3
The most noticeable changes include:

  • Bots now have individual aggression levels. Some will take cover when shot at and some will charge.
  • Each bot now has its own difficulty level parameter which affects its reaction time and accuracy.
  • Difficulty levels vary from 0: easy to 10: very hard and can also be set to Dynamic.
    The default is Dynamic which changes the difficulty based on the K/D ratio of the targeted enemy.
  • Bots can now use machinegun and railgun. These bots can also use the pistol.
  • All bots now use melee attack when they get a good chance.
  • Enemies spotted by bot team mates now appear on player radars.

Frontiers Free Weekend 4-7 November
This weekend together with our friends at Fatshark we are offering you the Frontiers Free Weekend. Shattered Horizon and Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild West will both be free to play and half-price to buy on Steam all weekend. We will also be launching the Frontiers Pack, a bundle containing both games at a reduced price. More info in the forum.

Open Bot Beta - bot version 0.2 update
We have just updated the bots running on the open bot beta servers. The update happens on our side so you won't need to download anything from Steam in order to play against the new bots.

Bot version 0.2
The most noticeable changes include:

  • Reduced shooting accuracy slightly for all weapons, more so for shotgun
  • Bots fight more defensively and make better use of cover
  • Bots can switch to a closer target when encountering multiple enemies
  • Bots use grenades more conservatively
  • Bots can do tactical reloads
  • Bots react better to control points being captured
  • Bots have slightly reduced ability to detect enemies over longer ranges
  • Code now takes silent mode and thruster state into account for enemy detection

Open Bot Beta
Today we are kicking off an exciting new stage in Shattered Horizon’s ongoing development with the start of our Open Bot Beta.

To join the beta look for the Futuremark-hosted Open Bot Beta servers. There is one in Europe and there are two in the US. Each server has 12 player slots with a further 12 bots split between the 2 teams. The number of servers and the player bot ratio may change over time.
