With a heart touching story about two sisters separated at the end of the world, Shieldmaiden has its narrative based on the bravery and love Asta feels for her sister Roza. With a team of developers passionate about the project, Shieldmaiden still receives all our love, just like everyone that plays it too.

Road to v2 + Update 1.6
After months of work we’re ready to show you what’s been happening with Shieldmaiden and what you can expect in the near future. We took this time to set a new path for the game and reach Version 2! Version 2
With the planned updates, Shieldmaiden becomes a bigger and better game. Some of the new features are:
Extended Movement
Asta can now Dash, both on the ground and in the air, creating new opportunities both for combat and for platforming;
She can also combo her dash with a jump to reach new speeds and distances;
Extended Combat
Now Asta has many more tools to deal with the possesed machines of Modigard, such as:
Push Finisher: Asta can now push enemies, allowing her both some time to breath or an opportunity to give chase with a dash and keep attacking;
Uppercut: Asta can now throw the enemies in the air, stopping them from attacking and opening up an opportunity to keep attacking;
Quick Return: Asta now can call her shield back when it hits an enemy, getting back into action faster;
Dash Attack: Asta can attack straight from her Dash;
Power Up: Asta gets a Damage Multiplier based on how much Energy she has, for a maximum of 200% damage;
Extended Burst
Asta now has variants of her special attack, the Burst:
Standard: The good old Burst. Now with shorter range and weaker, but consuming less Energy;
Frontal Burst: This one reaches further than the Standard Burst, but only shoots in one direction;
Ultra Burst: Consumes all energy and breaks your shield for maximum damage on the whole screen;
Extended Story
Sieldmaiden’s story is being reworked to become better and more cohesive. It will also have new ways of being told, such as the new Dinamyc Conversation throughout the game; Revised and Extended Levels
With all these new things the old levels become obsolete, so we’re remaking all of them with the new gameplay in mind, giving you more opportunities for combat with reworked enemies and Arenas, more opportunities for platforming using the new Dash, and the story, with the inclusion of Dynnamic Conversations and optional collectables that expand the story of Asta and what happened in Modigard; Planning
These new things will come to the game through 5 updates, each based on a level, which we call Road to V(ersion) 2;
Road to v2 - Part Zero (v1.6): It’s already up! This update has the new opening and Tutorial, along with some new moves for Asta, such as the Dash. Check the patch Notes at the end for more details;
Road to v2 - Part One (v1.7): Will come with the Level One (Wolf’s Run Nature Sanctuary) Remake, along with some other minor things;
Road to v2 - Part Two (v1.8): Will come with the Level Two (Scrapyard District) Remake, along with some other minor things;
Road to v2 - Part Three (v1.9): Will come with the Level Three (Mt. Runa Hospital Complex) Remake, along with some tweakes on the Interlude and some other minor things;
Road to v2 - Part Four/ Final Part (v2.0): Will come with the Level Four (Mourning Grounds) Remake, along with some other minor things;

After a couple of days in beta, we are ready to release the first update for Shieldmaiden! Since this is the first of many, we focused on doing some groundwork to make the overall experience more pleasant. You'll notice that on the UI side, the player is given many new options to interact with the game, making it simpler to play and replay the game the way ou like. On the gameplay front we worked on some of the issues that have been bothering the players, such as how death pits work and how easy it was to simply walk through enemies. Expect more tweaks to these points in the future.
Here are the Patch Notes that go into further detail:
