No Text on Windows 10?
I have received a lot of complaints from people regarding missing text from buttons for new players on Windows 10.

I dont know exactly why this is but the majority of people have success by simply restarting their computer. Once the game is installed please do a reboot and then load it up again, that should fix the problem.

Steam Trading Cards!
Trading Cards for Showtime! are now integrated into the game :) I hope everyone who enjoys building packs and badges will enjoy this added feature. It's taken me a while to integrate but I think collectors will enjoy this. Big shout out to Valve for making this a very painless and streamlined process :) Cheers!

Update 1.4.1 Available
Hi there everyone :) I have a pretty cool update now available. I've been testing this for many hours now and everything looks good so I decided to release it a little earlier than anticipated. Check out the version log below for a list of changes:

1.4.01 (14.03.2015)

- Added: A full-screen (non-scaling) option is now available during start-up!
- Added: You can now disable monthly studio upkeep tax when starting a new game
- Added: Start-up options now available from the main menu
- Change: AI studios are now more competitive during the summer months
- Change: Increased amount of screenwriters produced yearly
- Change: The "welcome new talent" page now includes new directors, producers and screenwriters
- Change: The grid views are now more attractive and more identifiable
- Change: Increased delay between typing number values and them being converted, now right aligned
- Fixed: Bug which sometimes didnt display the correct screenwriters list
- Fixed: Bug where by selecting a writer without a job required a screenwriters page restart
- Fixed: Bug which criticised your studio in the board meeting if your studio rank was too high
- Fixed: Bug which sometimes didnt enable auto-save when creating a new save file

Update 1.4 Available
Well it's all been leading up to this, a cumulative update in version 1.4. Not a massive amount of new content, but I have been listening to player feedback and have addressed the concerns people have been having that even bad movies with mega budgets can still rack in big $$$ -- so I have spent a great deal of time with the sales code and rewritten a big chunk. I think a nice balance has been found which will make the game a little more challenging, encouraging players to put more effort into their movies and not just their budgets.

We've also added 20 new character avatars to the game so you can put a face to the name in a lot of cases, including everyone's favourite: Conroy Clever :) And I've also gone through fixing a few minor bugs here and there and a couple of grammatical errors, etc.

Thanks again for all the support and love the game has received over 2014! I realise it's not a game made for everyone, but I am pleased to see the majority of people who enjoy these text-based sim games continue to play and enjoy Showtime. I'm looking forward to sharing with you all my plans for the series in 2015.

Update 1.3.4 Available
Got a big update for you guys :) Been looking forward to sharing this one and thank you to everyone who has supported me and posted some great suggestions for the game in the forums. Its really cool, so keep it up :) Here are the list of changes in 1.3.4:

- Added: 47 new sub-genre's added to the game! New genres include: Cyberpunk, Dystopia, Monster, Fairy Tale, Comic, Gangster, Post-Apocalypse, etc.
- Added: 'Max All' buttons added to the bank screen
- Added: Additional helpful tips to the game for new players
- Change: AI studios are now more competitive when it comes to summer charts
- Change: Tweaked how sales are calculated if you release an inappropriate movie for the era
- Change: New talent generated is generally younger than before
- Change: Unsigned actors are no longer 'busy' after filming has completed and freed up for another film
- Change: Legal staff now effect contract negotiation
- Fixed: Family-friendly genres are no longer pitched with inappropriate themes!
- Fixed: Additional smaller bug fixes and game changes

Updated Runtime Package ('339')
Hi Everyone,

Many players have been experiencing "Runtime Error 339" crashes when loading the game recently. I have been desperately looking for a permanent fix and believe I have the final solution. The Runtime package for the game has been updated so all you need to do is follow these simple steps:

If you are experiencing problems please follow this instructions:
1. Update the game via Steam ([B]IMPORTANT STEP[/B])
2. Go to C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Showtime\Redist folder
3. Right click the file VB6-RuntimeFiles.exe and select "Run as administrator" ([B]IMPORTANT STEP[/B])
4. Click Yes for Windows permissions
5. The runtime package will install to your computer, please wait 1-2 minutes for package to conclude
6. Launch Showtime!

Update 1.3.3 Available
New update is available. It's mostly a stability update but I've tweaked a few other things and added in a couple of requests from people on the forums. Lots of people have complained that the latest update made screenwriting too easy so I think I've found a good middle-ground here.
