Project to Support - Through the Moongate Part II Kickstarter
Release 70 of Shroud of the Avatar goes live this Thursday, September 26, at 10:30 AM US Central Time (15:30 UTC). Release 70 includes lots of exciting updates including the return of Pumpkin Head, Ulfheim scene rework, Nightmares (new creature), new decorations, Spooky recurring items, new skills, and more!
Ulfheim: Ulfheim is now a completely original Tier 8+ scene (i.e. no longer a clone of another scene with slightly different enemies)! It is now a proper home for the barbarians (like New Britannians have Brittany, Norgarders have Valhold, and plunderers have Penmawr Island). They have got living spaces, crafting areas, tree houses, and even a full village with viking-style buildings. There are three multi-stage wave battles designed for repeat play by high-end players. Enterprising players may discover the “side activities” that can change some of the enemies in the “boss fight,” and increase the number of enemies on the way to that final battle. As a bonus, all the special enemies from the classic Ulfheim are there including high tier wolves, bears, boars, wyverns, and the Reapers. Additionally, it has all the same resources plus additional resource types (such as crystals) and nodes.
Pumpkin Head and his Minions Return: Pumpkin Head returns! Each harvest season, Novians warn their children not to go into the fields at night because of Pumpkin Head! Kinga or Ronin in Castle Brittany have two quests: slay Pumpkin Head and steal a pumpkin head item from him or his foot soldiers. This heinous villain and his minions are rumored to dwell in a pumpkin patch in East Vauban Foothills. Slay Pumpkin Head and you might gain a powerful Skull Staff artifact.
Nightmares: Arriving just in time for Halloween, these new rare boss level equines are full of fire and death! Beware unwary Avatars, for your doom may await! You’ll find these rare enemies in some random encounters in Novia and Hidden Vale.
Solar Flare (new skill): The Sun Magic School was lacking a second attack of any type until now. Solar Flare is a new Area of Effect cone attack spell in the Sun Magic School.
Spooky Seasonal Recurring Items: With Halloween coming up we have brought back all of the Spooky Seasonal Recurring items to the Crown Shop for a limited time! Get them before they expire on November 8, when they will go into hiding again until next year!

The Release 70 Livestream is set for this Friday, September 27, at 3 PM Central Time on twitch.tv/shroudoftheavatar! All Avatars from around the world are welcome to join us in the livestream activities. We will be talking about all our Spooky Stuff (Pumpkin Head, Nightmares, etc), touring scenes, answering questions, and handing out prizes. In addition we will have a special guest (and old friend) Rustic Dragon on the livestream to talk about the Kickstarter for Through the Moongate Part II!

Labor Day Sale: In honor of Syndcon (the Syndicate guild's annual conference) and Dragon Con we are having a Labor Day sale! All Crown Packages on the Web Store are on sale for 20% off the regular prices though Monday September 2! Dragon themed items are also more likely to be on sale in the Crown Shop (in-game) through Labor Day so be sure to login each day and check the sale section of the crown shop!

Release 69 Instructions

Release 69 of Shroud of the Avatar goes live this Thursday, August 29, at 10:30 AM US Central Time (15:30 UTC). Release 69 includes lots of exciting updates including the return of the Comet (as well as the associated Aether Creatures), a new dungeon: Despair, Grandmaster Item Enchantments / Masterworks, Performance Improvements, Maps Stored Locally (for stability and performance), No-Trade Items placeable on Player Lots, and more!
Despair: Our newest dungeon is rumored to be the most challenging area in the game. It is full of the highest tier Spiders, Polar Bears, Dragons, and Obsidians. This includes two new variants: Polar Mutilator Bears and Ferocious Warp Spiders! You have been warned! Despair can be reached via boats in Dysborg Ruins, Fishing Expedition, Fortus End, Mud, or Noreach.
Comet: The comet has returned and with it a number of unusual side effects on local fauna. The creatures of many regions have become bolder and more ferocious, including unicorns, wyverns, and the like. Further, several variant anomalies have appeared including Aether Dragons, Aether Liches, and Aether Corpions. If traveling across the wilderness was mildly dangerous before, now it will be swiftly fatal for most adventurers! Various townsfolk are talking about this phenomena now.
Grandmaster Item Enchantments and Item Masterworks: Achieving Grandmaster status in Item Enchantment and Item Masterworking (100+) unlocks major item stat effects that are +3.

September Login Reward: Dragon Statue with Flames
Next week is the first week to login and obtain the September login reward! To celebrate Dragon Con, and the imminent end of the heat of the summer, every player who logs in during the month of September will receive a unique foyer sized Dragon Statue with flame visual effects!
To receive the rewards simply login to the game before the end of September and check your rewards tab!
NOTE: You still a few days left to receive the August login rewards (Fire Potions)!
