We've just uploaded an update to Shrug Island - The Meeting. It has the following additions and improvements:
PauseGame/Quit/GotoMenu is now accessible everywhere
Press escape button on your keyboard. This option to was previously accessible only via the map (itself available from the fourth level of the game and onwards).
Dialogue GUI/triangle icon now has states
These visualize if the player has or hasn’t accessed all hints at a given moment. Note: More, greyer lines of unread text may still be hidden behind an empty dialogue icon; these are random non-puzzle related story rhymes, and are not counted by the interface.
Li is inquisitive , thorough and perceptive. She takes as long as it takes to get where she´s going, and where others have forgotten things, she remembers them. Literally.
Li's personal skill called vision mode, is therefore a long and powerful process. In gameplay it goes like this: transform and seek, find and assemble, return object to its holder.
It's her body's ability to shift inwards, reflecting the surrounding world in meta-time, subconscious state, or something else entirely.
Where Shri channels shapes of change, Li embodies fluidity in permanence.
Li and Shri are two sides of a pattern whose contrasts align to return life to a slumbering world...
One day, this will make for an interesting dance.
Shri, one of the two young Shrugs whose homecoming you follow in this first chapter of Shrug Island, is dynamic, sensitive, a tad impatient, emotional to the fingertips, in all senses, a mover.
Like all the Shrugs, Shri transforms berween air and earth forms as the yearly tides rise and ebb on the Island. Each Shrug also has an individual connection to the Island that helps awaken its world.
Shri’s gift is to take the form of their surroundings at special locations shown by the Glow Plants. Transformed, Shri can channel five musical notes from the plant that will move nearby pieces of the Island.
A Shrug's skill stays strong in the company of another and so Shri’s fate is bound together with his dear friend, Li. Though the winds have pushed them to land separately, they will need each other for the world to open up to their journey. We will soon meet Li and learn more about her gifts and the journey ahead for the two Shrug friends.

The Musical Island
The Island of the Shrugs is a mysterious musical being on which live a family of shape-shifters.
Every year its people fly when the ocean rises and covers land, and when the waves fall back the Shrugs return, transforming once again to solid creatures.
The Shrugs and their Island are intimately connected and their odd communication maintains life and magic through the seasons. With as many Shrug personalities as there are people and inner changes mirrored in their surroundings, keeping the balance on Shrug Island is a constant dance.
after a long period of work, we are very happy to be putting the finishing touches on Shrug Island - The Meeting. As you can see, the Shrugs are returning to their Island for the Spring.
Over the coming weeks we'll be introducing you to them, and to the game. In the meantime, we hope you are enjoying the changing of the seasons.
