This update makes the game more friendly to keyboard users by increasing functionality of keyboard controls. Letters selected using the keyboard now follow a prioritization hierarchy in the event that there are two or more tiles of the same letter available for selection in the tile grid. The ordered hierarchy that determines priority selection of tiles with the same letter is as follows:
Starred tiles (only applicable to untimed levels in Solo Play)
Letter tiles beneath gem tiles
Letter tiles with Double-Word (x2) modifiers
Letter tiles with Word-And-A-Half (x1.5) modifiers
Letter tiles with Double-Letter (DL) modifiers
Regular tiles without modifiers
Lock or Key letter tiles can only be selected with the keyboard if the SHIFT key is held down while typing the corresponding letters.

Shuzzler Strategy Guide
Happy Holidays! The official strategy guide for Shuzzler, written by the developer, is now available in the Guides section of Shuzzler's Community Hub. In addition to game strategy, this guide also explains and clarifies certain aspects of game mechanics.
Steam achievements for completing all levels in a category for untimed content have now been added to the game. If you previously completed all levels in a category, you did not receive the achievement, but the status is still saved in the game. Reopening the game should trigger the achievement.
The keyboard shortcut for in-game hints has been changed from SHIFT+"H" to "?" key. This was changed to avoid users accidentally triggering hints when typing letters on the keyboard while holding down the Shift key.
NEW Content Available!
This update more than doubles the original content of the game by adding 35 new, untimed and single-player levels constructed of mostly new cards not seen in the original game. The new untimed levels follow a new format with the addition of special starred, lock, and key letter tiles.
Star, Lock, & Key Letter Tiles:
The untimed content features starred tiles and lock and key tiles. These tiles, marked with a star(*), lock, or key symbol in the upper left, must be cleared from the tile grid (by using them in word submissions) as a condition for passing the level. Lock and Key tiles of the same color must be used in the same word submission for the submission to be valid.
New Cards:
Over 150 new cards have been added to the game. The list of new and notable types of cards is below:
65 new Category cards.
Replace Tiles (Action Card) - replaces 5 random letter tiles in the game with new values.
Add Vowels (Action Card) - Adds a row of vowel letter tiles "A", "I", "O", and "U" to tile grid.
Add Lock & Key (Action Card) - Adds a pair of Lock & Key letter tiles to tile grid.
Contains Letters XX - These cards require finding words that contain a specific pattern of letters.
Starts With / Ends With - Require spelling words that start with and end with the specified letters.
Noun, Verb, Adverb, or Adjective - Require spelling words that are nouns, verbs, adverbs, or adjectives.
Swipe Only - Require submitting words by swiping letter tiles only (i.e. click-and-dragging cursor to connect adjacent tiles).
Combo - Some new cards combine multiple conditions (Starts With, Ends With, Verb, Noun, 4-Letter, Swipe, etc.).
Bug Fixes & Improvements:
Fixed/improved randomness of tiles generated in tile grid.
Game will now end when all point cards have been earned. Before, the game only ended when both all point cards were earned and action cards were exhausted.
Replaced sounds for accepted word submissions and earning cards with background-noise-reduced versions.
Beat Best Score bonus objective is hidden from Bonus Objectives in in-game slide-out menu if the players best score is zero.
Card artwork now resizes according to size of title text of the card.
Fixed typo ("geometic" to "geometric") in tooltip description for Shape category card.
Changed name of Territory geography category card to Area.
Updated and improved card artwork for Accessory, Appliance, Candy, Country, Clothing, Geography, US State, and Vehicle category cards.

MASSIVE Content Update Now Available!
The NEW content update (Build 4.0) for Shuzzler is now online! This update more than doubles the original content of the game by adding 35 new, untimed and single-player levels constructed of mostly new cards not seen in the original game. Update On New Content Release
As announced previously, Shuzzler will be unveiling a major content release that will feature new untimed levels! We are excited to announce that the new update will include a total of 120 new cards, including 40 all new category cards. Below is a look at a new variant of the word length cards, that, in addition to requiring spelling words of the specified length, require spelling words that are either nouns, verbs, adverbs, or adjectives.
It was the original hope to release this update before or during the Steam Summer Sale. At the time of writing this post, all of the new cards that will be included in the new update are finished. However, the delay is coming from the level design and playtesting process, which is taking longer than anticipated due to the new untimed levels following a different format from the original timed levels currently in the game.
Hoping to post more information about the update as it unfolds. However, the update is now in its final stages of development, and it will be big - at least 30 new levels big. Looking forward to seeing how the Steam community responds to it when it comes out.
NEW Untimed Content Coming!
We are excited to announce that new content is in the works for Shuzzler to be released in a major update coming soon!
This new content will include a completely new set of untimed levels meant to target a more casual audience, as we have received feedback that some players do not like the time pressure imposed by the current level set. Like the current levels in place, this new set of levels will be divided up into the same broader categories (i.e. food, animal, geography, science, home & living, culture, and society), but will feature over a dozen new category cards.
A sneak peek of some of the new category cards is below!
Patch 3.4.0.2 - Fix Perfect Completion Sticker Out Of Position Post-Game
This patch is being released to fix an error with perfect completion sticker appearing out of position in post-game (this error only showed up in games that include the Add Gems action card in the deck). Changed month category card value from 24 points to 12 points (only one word is required to earn the card). Lastly, this update includes several additions to word lists for category cards, as detailed below.
Word List Additions:
"falchion" added to weapon word list
"chemise" added to clothing word list
"bass", "shakuhachi", "taiko", "tsuzumi", "tsudzumi" added to instrument word list
"bullock", "gilt", "heifer", "steer", "yak", "zebu" added to farm animal word list
Patch 3.4.0.1 - Hotfix for Greek Letter Category Card
Releasing this patch update to fix error with greek letter category card (appears in Science - Level 2) not accepting words. Additionally, this update includes several category word list additions, as detailed below.
Word List Additions:
"caracara", "chickadee", "eyas", "nuthatch", "raptor", "tiercel", "tit", "titmouse" added to bird word list
"smock" added to clothing word list
"danish", "empanada" added to pastry word list
"avocado" added to fruit word list ("avocado" is technically a fruit, but is commonly considered a vegetable because of the way it is usually prepared/served and its nutritional value compares better to a vegetable. As before, "avocado" is still included in the vegetable category word list for the aforementioned reasons)
Update 3.4.0 - Dictionary Upgrade
The WordNet dictionary has been upgraded from version 2.0 to version 3.0. This update also comes with fixes to issues with the dictionary missing a substantial number words (the missing words appeared to be those that were grouped by shared definitions in the WordNet dictionary). This means more word definitions are now available for reference in the slide-out in-game menu, and it is less likely that the dictionary will return "no definitions available" in place of actual word definitions.
Dictionary Limitations:
Plural, non-singular forms of words will return "no definitions available"
Dictionary will only return a single definition for a word within each of the following word types: noun, verb, adjective, and adverb. For instance, if there are three different WordNet definitions for verb form of the word "sit", it will only show one of the three of these definitions
Word List Additions (For Category Card Word Lists):
"teal" added to color word list
"cassock" added to clothing word list
"gnat", "katydid", "mantis", "mealworm", "scarab", "treehopper", "weevil", and "weta" added to insect word list
