I originally intended to announce this earlier but confirmation for the price change arrived late. This game is really weird and I don’t mean the cool surreal shit. It’s pretty much a project from practically 8 years ago given a coat of paint and some fixes. The issue is that the engine and code are outdated as hell, making it practically impossible to bring this game to better standards (multiple languages on the same executable, more control options, ect).
So now that my larger and more polished project Pseudo-Haunting is coming extremely soon, I decided to give this one the economical price of 0$ while the new game takes care of the money part. The OST will still be paid.
Also, this is definitely the last time I’m switching a paid game for free, don’t bother waiting for the other ones to magically switch to no-cost overnight.
Spanish translation released
Title explains the update, mostly. It has been added as an alternate launch option since the game’s old code can’t handle switching between languages. Additionally, a few bugs in both versions have been corrected.
Fixed scrapped level crash bug
The first scrapped level had a small coding mistake that resulted on a fatal crash upon entering. Said mistake has been corrected.
Added new game warning
When selecting the "new game" option, the game will take you to a screen informing you that the progress on the main levels will be reset and letting you cancel said reset. This only affects the main levels, the extra levels that are unlocked after beating the main game will remain open even if you start a new game.
Fixed level 66 bug
One of the boss' attacks gave a fatal error. Said attack has been replaced with a new version that's functionally the same but uses a simpler code.
FIxed the level 65 "boss gone" bug
-Fixed a bug that made the boss in level 65 disappear after a while without triggering the win condition.
Just like the game's graphics, the music originates from several old projects. Some of the tracks have been remixed and/or extended.
A few small improvements to the game have been added:
Reworked the attack of the third mid-boss in level 47.
Machine gun hazards now make a flashing animation a second before shooting.
And finally, an easter egg of my previous game "Me and My Eldritch Parasite" has been added. Good luck finding it.
Bug fix update
First of all, sorry for the issue. It had only happenned to me once and I tought it only affected a latter enemy (which was already fixed before release).
A few users reported a bug where the player would get stuck on an invisible obstacle. I looked into it and believe it was caused by one of Game Maker's movement functions. This project is using an old version of the engine, so said function might be bugged. The function was supposed to move towards a point while avoiding target, but seems to register some defeated enemies as obstacles despite them getting deleted after dying. This system has been replaced with the player stopping if they touch one of the walls. I have tested the second stage where the bug took place, defeated all enemies and nothing strange has happenned.
