- Your position, world, and board choice is now saved between playing - Reset now has the option to go to closest spawn or back to home world - I was working on another unreleased thing but turns out it allows you to revert -- if you crouch and then stand up you can 'flick' into a revert or powerslide quickly. - added console command set_time <0-1.0> - worlds without lights are now permanently in the evening, never goes night time.
Patch notes - 8th June
this notes: - Chosen playermodel now correctly saves again - Enabled map submissions to the workshop
and since the last patch notes went missing i'll include them here: - Fixed jitter while in walking mode - Fixed jump input being missed on >60hz monitors (Thanks: JustFredrik) - Fixed occasional/random startup crash related to audio engine
Skate Rift goes international
New map
Visit Understate DIY park in the USA.
Theres a few things you can do here like:
Visit the board shop
No paid skins, lootboxes or anything here, you get access to the workshop for free and can share or download pretty much any design that we can come up with.
Play with the completed version of grinding and tricks
Other
As well as a bunch of updates to pretty much every system, there is of course some improvements to the original map Mt.Zero Island.
Soon
Within the next few weeks the maps workshop will be open, as well as guides on how to make stuff for it.
Patch notes (minor changes)
- There is too many to list, but the most notable is that the controller input system was made more robust to handle switching and finding the right controller.
Patch notes - 16th April (beta)
The following applies to the beta version:
Added occlusion effect for player (Thanks: Fnugz)
Added console variable fps_limit . set to 0 to enable vsync, -1 for adaptive vsync.
Added timer texts to gates
Updated interpolation method for physics objects (should look a bit smoother on high framerate monitors)
vsync is now disabled by default for Windows vsync is now enabled by default for Linux to prevent screen tearing, if your compositor has issues with this, set fps_limit to a multiple of your monitors refresh rate.
Preview/beta version for new features
Quite a bit has changed, but since this is not the full update yet, some features from the base game are unavailable in the beta (achievements, lap times). The new and old versions are downloaded side by side and you can pick which one to launch when you start the game.
Some new features include: tricks, proper flips and grinds on any surface not just rails. You can also switch to third person, seems to help a lot if you get motion sick :)
Theres a couple more things planned for the full release of this update, but for now its here to test out the new physics and stuff. Hope you like the changes
Small quality things
- added: controller_deadzone - various map QA fixes. thank you: JHead - fixed undefined behavior related graphic bug. thank you: lacyyy - ragdolls now use an entirely new constraint solver - should look a bit more natural!
Boardslides, map revisions and effects
New feature: Boardslides
If you see a bright yellow rail somewhere, it means you can boardslide it by jumping up to it. You can balance yourself by pushing the control forwards or back.

Gate rendering fixed glitches
Falling off no longer kills your current run
Physics adjustments (angular dampening reduced)
Added volume slider to menu
Map revisions
Some time was spent revising the map. The main changes are listed here but there are various improvements everywhere.
Megapark
The end zones of yellow and red courses were changed to be more well defined and structured compared to how they used to be.
