Granser developement news.

Time to share some of the details on how development is going.

First the cover art:

First of all I have a few portraits that should set the tone.

They should be familiar to Skautfold players.

I have plenty of mock-ups to share too, such as:

Combat

Airship combat (yes its a thing)

Menu

A segment of the first town:

Finally early development on the overworld map, it will be VERY lively with active air traffic, events, and plenty ground and airship battles.

Lastly the very much work in progress snippet of the intro.

Granser is basically my "dream game" project and Skautfold was built to be a prequel to it, and as a learning experience to have the skill to deliver my dream project.
If you want to see more and prety much live just follow my twitter:

I will post every step of developement there.

Granser

Loosely following up the story of Skautfold after a few thousand year time skip on a new planet distant from earth, Granser is a new 3 game series in the style of a "jrpg".

The story of Granser will be presented as 3 games serving as the 3 acts of the same story following the same group of characters. Saves will be transferable game to game.

The games will be story focused turn based rpgs in the more Japanese style.

---The setting and story
-I have little to reveal about this yet besides the fact it takes place in an entirely new world but still rooted in elements set up in Skautfold. I have spent a considerable part of my lifetime building this setting and Skautfold was built to serve as a prequel to this setting. The story was mainly inspired by Xenogears, Xenosaga and early Tales of games.

---Combat is a much improved version of the Knight's End combat system, featuring a full party of 4 characters.
-A much improved "Guard System" returning from Usurper, Moonless Knight and Knight's End.
-A refined implementation of timed attack and defence inputs from Knight's End, rewarding good timing and knowledge of the combat triangle.
-A "Burst System" where party wide resource called "Burst Points" are used to unleash a flurry of directional combo inputs used to execute Finishing Strike skills, inspired by the system of Xenogears.
-A fresh take on statuses and their interactions.
-A setup and set-off system for a more engaging interplay of party member's skills.

---Exploration and additional gameplay
-Aside from the mandatory story content, you will be periodically be let loose to engage with the more free-form content of the world, engaging in hunts, dynamic world map conflict events, and dungeon delving.
-Character and gear progression unique to each of the 4 party members.
-Instead of grinding against weak mobs, you can train and duel your party members to learn new skills and improve synergy among them.
-Engage in airship to airship combat! Around halfway through the first game you unlock your airship, the sky is not safe however and you will have to engage in ship to ship combat, as well as face flying beasts with it.
-Fishing... in the sky, Sky fishing will be a more relaxing activity to take a break with.

Recently I started learning 3d modelling and animation to accelerate my production of sprites, as well as significantly increase their quality, so expect a noticeable jump in quality and a far more animated, and clear presentation.

Overall the games will each be approximately 25-30 hours long, much larger than any of my previous ones.

The first of the 3 games should arrive on steam early access spring 2023 and develop chapter by chapter till its conclusion.

I will share more when I open a new Granser and Skautfold focused DIscord, and maybe I have something fun to sharer about one of my old games soon? Who knows..... :P

Shroued in Sanity now on Xbox, Playstation4, and Nintendo Switch.

I can finally talk about this freely!

Shrouded in Sanity will release on all 3 mayor consoles at February 11th.
Additionally there will be a limited physical PS4 version released too.

Its been... over 6 years now, but SiS will finally see the light of day on consoles.
The port features some small QoL changes, some upgraded art assets, full achievement support, and most powerful of all, French, German, Italian, Spanish full localisation! (As well as a new kick ass art piece by Rock who did the character art for Usurper, and the cover art for Usurper, and Into the Fray.

There are more exciting news for the future but I cant talk about those yet :P

Back to GMS2

The engine is swapped back to GMS2 for now.

Knight's End, the finale of the series is now out of Early Acces.

As of now Knight's End is in 1.0.

However this is not the end.
The game will enjoy a few months of active development post launch, as well as the "Final Step" as a free dlc/content update, which will conclude the whole series in a climactic finale, as well as two more summons to collect.

Additionally the game now has its achievements unlocked, and available to collect.

Once the post launch work is completed, I will be moving on to Usurper to touch up the game, a process I plan to do for Into the Fray, and Moonless Knight too, in preparation for the future.

After that, hopefully I will be able to start on Border, the new series that serves as the sequel to Skautfold separated by thousands of years and quite a few light-years.

Knight's End out NOW in Early Access.

Its now live in Early Access, there is a clear roadmap, and it is getting daily updates.
The game should be finished and 1.0 by Christmas.

Knight's End storepage is live.

Nothing to see here!

Juuuuuust some small typo fixes, fixed the apostrophes, and a fix for the Hito sniper issue.
