Sketch Tales Update will hit in October

Big news everyone! Today we are very pleased to announce the long-awaited Update Sketch Tales will hit in October. We know it's been a long road and we really appreciate your support and patience.

So what will be in the update?

<*>Start playing Sketch Tales with your friends!
The first multiplayer game modes - Death Match and Team Death Match - will be included in the update.

<*>Create your own multiplayer maps, play, and share them with your friends!
All made possible with the beautiful Map Voxel Editor.

<*>Draw and add much more to bring your character even more to life.
Create weapons - draw magic arrows, fireballs, lightnings, or whatever you wish and use these weapon in the battle. Craft armor - make your own armor and then equip your character.

<*>New User Experience and UI
We've created an more intuitive interface and on-boarding experience so now you can create your hero, weapon, and equipment in a sim

<*>Transform your hero
You can find many different characters throughout the game and add them to your magic book. Once added, you can transform into any one of those characters at any time.

These things and more are waiting for you in the October update to Sketch Tales.

Thank you again and looking forward to seeing all the cool and creative creations come October!

Please, feel free to leave your comments below.

Voxel Editor Results

A team member today tested out one of the main features that will ship in the upcoming update - the voxel editor - and quickly completed a set of nice looking, dark themed maps he named "Dark Tales."

The editor was snappy, intuitive, and worked in such a way that he was able to create these maps and rooms in a very short period of time.

We are continuing to work diligently on the big update - which contains the voxel editor - and are optimistic we will be able to provide big news there in the near future. Thanks again for the support and patience here!

New Screenshots, Simply.

Instead of a theme, we simply wanted to share some new screenshots of the update that we thought were particularly fun and interesting. Hope you enjoy!

Colored Lighting effects!

Fire and other sources of light normally emit a colors of yellow or red. We think those look great but we wanted to allow players the flexibility of creating light in a palette of colors. Players will be able to chose the colors they feel best suit the worlds they create. Yellows and reds are of course doable, but so different colors like purples and greens.

Third-Person View

Switch from first-person view to varying degrees of distance in third-person by using your mouse wheel. You can switch to a closer third-person view, like the shot above and here:

Or move out to much broader view to see your character and a different view of your greatly bizarre world, like here:

This feature will drop along side the big update!

Thank You! + New Terrain Editor Screenshots

First and foremost, thank you for investing with both your time and your money in Sketch Tales. We know what it has been challenging at points given the potential of the game. The continued support and interest from the community means a lot to our small team. We have been consistently working on getting the game where it needs to be and we are nearing the final stretch of the big update. Getting multiplayer right is challenging and is the aspect the team is still working hard and iterating on. Nearly everything else is feature complete, including the terrain editor. On that note, we wanted to share some new screenshots of what can be created, in the updated style, with the terrain editor.

Of course your drawings can come to life in the lands and buildings you create.

Thank you for the patience as we work to ensure what we ship will be a game you truly enjoy.

Scrolls in Multiplayer

Scrolls! They are cool looking assets that will play an important roll in Sketch Tales post update.

In multiplayer, players will be able to seek and discover different types of scrolls and each scroll will contain a certain type of magic or weapon or even a new character. Upon acquiring a particular scroll, a player will then have it at their immediate disposal and use. Hankering to use the crooked dagger or fireball? Find the scroll!
