Skipchaser

SKIPCHASER 1.5 is live!

In celebration of our new game RogueJack releasing on Steam a couple of days ago, we've packaged up some QoE updates for SKIPCHASER and added a few new features.

Here's the breakdown of whats new:

  • Sliding difficulty scale that buff enemies the less you die
  • In-level vending machines that let you try out some of the weapon parts for a limited time
  • 64-bit and signing issues on macOS
  • Keep bosses from blowing themselves up
  • Missile bullets?!?!?!
  • Various Steelseries keyboard fixes

We've also added RogueJack to our Ponywolf Franchise bundle, so if you supported us in the past you can get our new game for an even deeper discount.

Thanks for playing and supporting Ponywolf

1.1.3 is out with SteelSeries Engine Support

Version 1.1.3 updates some SDK stuff under the hood and adds color shifting support for SteelSeries Keyboards, Mice and Headsets. We don't overwrite your settings, just supplement them with a FnKey health bar and key cap highlights for key bindings.

If you are a developer and want to add these features to your game, we've posted the Lua code on Github.

1.1.2 Bugfix Build Out Now & SteelSeries Support Coming Soon

Not much to say on the update side, just a couple small fixes including a un-touchable gun part that was in the middle of some maps.

We'll also be partnering with SteelSeries to support some of their new controllers, keyboards and mice. More on that soon!

1.1.1 Build live for Windows and macOS

Lots of little bugs squished including cloud saves, new game button breaking, etc. Also, itch.io and Steam are now on the same verisoning track if you purchased it from either Winter Sale.

Happy Holidays (and Bounty Hunting) to all!

Version 1.11 in BETA, STABLE 1.0.2 live

Due to some issues with some players getting errors when certian internet functions were unavailable, we've pushed a 1.11 branch to beta (and itch.io) for testing and rolled back the current version to 1.0.2.

We apologize for any lack of bounty hunting that this has caused.

Winter Sale and v1.1 out of BETA

We're super excited to be picked as a top 10 winter sale game from Big Boss Battle (on itch.io) and to push our 1.1 update from BETA to the main branch. Look through the past branch notes to see what's updated.

Also, also we are releasing a new game on both Steam and mobile called Knights of the Card Table. If you are a fan of Fantasy inspired card games you may just like this.

Check it out!

Happy Halloween! 25% off and new updates in BETA!

Happy Halloween Sale steamers! We're 25% off until November 1st AND we pushed a few gameplay balancing features and added a new enemy type--the spider mine.

Here's a list of what's new:

  • Long overdue SDK update
  • Rats run away for 1s after hitting you and have less health
  • Small enemies are a bit easier to hit
  • CRIMELORD doesn't disappear erroneously
  • CRIMELORD scene floor color is changed for better contrast with bullets
  • Added spider mines to some of the level 5 and 7 levels
  • "Empty" chests now give some gold instead
  • EXPERIMENTAL gun elements, bullet multipliers, and bullet types (missiles and lasers too) working

To try these new features out, you'll need to get the BETA branch of SKIPCHASER by going into the properties of the game.

1.01 Release out of BETA

SKIPCHASER's had a minor release hanging out in the beta branch for a while that's ready for prime time.

There's a training level for the SKIP mechanic and a more even distribution of soundtrack, plus a bunch of other minor tweaks that we feel make the game better than ever!

SKIPCHASER 1.0 Hotfix pushed

Thanks to user @Alpherior we found a few bugs that made their way into the 1.0 release...

  • Early Access users skipped the final boss level & endless mode
  • Small Plasma mag and small Frozen Mag had same image, and same stats

I know it's a pain, but if you played the EA version, we recommend starting a fresh game, or re-installing to reset the weapon items you collected in earlier versions. (We could force that, but there we just a few hundred EA users, so they may want to keep their progress...)

SKIPCHASER Released!!!

Down the rabbit hole!

With more updates than you can shake a blaster at! Here are a few of the improvements:

  • 50 levels, plus a procedural endless "Badlands" level to finish your build out
  • 3 Challenging boss fights plus the final CRIMELORD battle
  • Audio updates with 3 original songs by VXVX
  • More randomization of enemy stats, including overpowered enemies
  • Improved enemy AI
  • Weapon balancing and crafting fixes
  • Much, much, more!

All this and a 50% base price decrease. This project has been a labor of love and we couldn't be more excited to get your feedback!
