A new version of Sky Captain's Return is live!

The update includes but is not limited to:


  • Reduce the Lightcanon effect for more screen visibility
  • Reduce Hitmaker for more screen visibility
  • Add timer to Mines, to reduce and nerf mines placed on the map
  • Remove Turret Projectile HIts if target leaves area before shot got fired
  • Multiple Bug Fixing & QoL Improvements

Hello Warriors,

the release of Sky Captain's Return is coming closer and we are pretty excited to get this game out to you!

In the last weeks, we have been pretty busy fixing bugs, testing, and optimizing, to offer you a fun experience.


Mac Release



As we stated on the steam page, we plan to release the game also for Mac and have been pretty excited about this step. Unfortunately, the Mac version will take longer than anticipated and will be released about 4 weeks later than the Windows version.

We are deeply sorry for all the Mac users, but we also want to make sure you receive a stable game, running on your system, and there are still a few challenges we have to master for a release on Mac.


Controller Support



We have been working on implementing controller support for the game and made good progress. We still have a few elements to work on, like the controls in the map view, so we won't be supporting controller support when the Windows version releases.
We will continue working on it and will make sure to push out controller support as soon as possible.


Linux & Steamdeck



We didn't test on Linux yet, and since we have to work out controller support first, we won't be able to release for steam deck either in the next months. We do have this goal on our minds and will work on it to allow these platforms, but it won't be happening this year.
