New to the skies? Prepare for battle with Quest Mode, where you take on challenges like target practice, battle against AI, or run from the rising lava. Already a pro? See if you can earn a Diamond trophy with insane speed runs.
The first version of Quest Mode included 12 challenges to test your grappling hook skills.
The first major Hero Skin is out today, Hammer Fin, a totally new skin option for Fin. You’ll have to unlock this adorable little guy in Quest Mode!
All the Pink hero skins are now locked by default and need to be unlocked in Quest Mode.
Twitch Integration Menu
The twitch integration has been updates to allow you to connect your bot to Skyhook so that it can chat to your viewers about what is going on. You can also set how long you want countdowns to be and how long chat messages should be delayed.
Changes
SkyBall now uses Time in minutes to end the match. Timer displays on screen during the match, and when it ends the team with a higher score wins.
Player holding the SkyBall can now double jump.
Updated Twitch integration to include new AWS servers and old servers.
HUD elements like player hearts fade out when a player goes behind them.
Increased loading time to launch game.
CPU players will auto select their teams when going to the Team menu.
Black Hero skins have been removed so that they can be redone.
Camera blur effect for menus.
Toggling fullscreen will now switch the game’s resolution to 720p.
Player hearts now disappear during the Mirror powerup.
Inverse black colored skins have been removed while I make them more awesome.

Fixed bug with wallslide sfx playing even when a player isn’t moving.

Update #13.5 - Valentine's Day Skins!
Our heroes (and crab villains) are ready to hook their loved ones in the face this weekend! These special pink and blank character skins will actually be a permanent addition to the game after Valentine's Day! If playing as a pink Fin is all you every wanted, then you’re just like me :D

Update #13 - New Character! Grimlock, The Crab Captain
Dark sails have risen over the horizon, and with it the Crab Captain has emerged! Grimlock swings into battle today as the 5th playable character in Skyhook! You’ll have to unlock him in order to hook your friends with his big meaty claws!
You can now connect Skyhook with your twitch account and play against your viewers while streaming! Fight bots named after viewers and allow the chat to vote for what powerups everyone gets!

Update #12.5 - Camera Hotfix
Hi everyone!
A number of players requested an option to turn off the new dynamic camera, so I've included it in a hot fix for this week. I'll be trying to smooth out and improve the camera over the next week, so please try it again in the future sometime if you turn it off :)
I've also fixed several bugs with customizing keyboard input. You can now use the spacebar, and there should no longer be any issues saving the changes to melee keys.

Update #12 - Melee Combat!?!?
Melee Combat! There’s a new way to kill your enemies, like slashing them in the face as Jade or chomping their face off as Fin! Melee makes close combat scenarios much more interesting now. And yes, you can chomp incoming hooks to deflect them.
With the introduction of the melee mechanic, I was also able to use it as a pass button in Sky Ball mode. If you have the ball perform a melee attack to pass the ball to your teammate!
New moving and zooming camera to focus on the action! You’re sky battles have never been more epic.

More polish on menu animations.

For everyone dealing with input issues, I have updated XInput to address most of the controller issues on Windows 7, 8, and 10.
Fixed issues with keyboard keys sticking on Linux.
Major improvement to player AI.
New Sky Ball trophies: Longest Shot, Longest Pass, and Most Assists.
Adjusted Lava height and Sky Ball spawn points in Magma Cove.
Press start to join on character selection.
Mirror powerup can be stacked by multiple players.
Saved Data will be lost after this update.

Update #11 - Sky Ball Season!
Hold onto your grappling hooks ladies and gentlemen, because it’s officially Sky Ball season! Sky Ball is the most popular sport in the world of Skyhook, where two teams battle it out to throw the ball into the other team’s goal. There are no fouls or red cards in this sport, hook the other team to their death, grab the sky ball, and swing towards the goal.
With the introduction of Sky Ball, I wanted to take the time to make it so that you could play team matches in any of the game modes. Team Deathmatch is no longer one of the options, instead you can play Deathmatch, Steam Tank and Sky Slayers as a team! On top of that, the new team selection menu allows you to choose teams for bots too! There are no more limitations on what modes you can and cannot play with bots.

<*>Gryphons will no longer disappear when a player jumps or dodges off of them. They will stay on screen until their timer runs out.

Update #10 - Holidays in the Sky
We have a minor update this week, mostly addressing some bugs, and some holiday cheer for the next couple of months.
Holiday Skins for your favorite Skyhook characters!
For a limited time you can access Holiday themed skins for all the characters. Change your skin by going to the outfit chest in the character selection screen.
Changes
Added 6 frame input compensation. This means that if you try to jump, shoot, or dodge when you normally aren't able, the game will compensate and try again for 6 frames. This should help increase responsiveness when playing.
Screenshake option has been added. Set to Off, Normal, or Max.
Added controls view hud to Ship Log and fixed input sensitivity in Ship Log.
Decreased chance of Mask powerups.
Increased chance of Invisibility powerup in Tombs.
Fixes
Fixed bug with being able to hook onto treasure chests while they were spawning
Fix for XInput controllers being detected as duplicates in Windows 10.
Fixed bug with gryphons not rendering properly.
Update #9 - Special Match Options & Character Masks
Looking for ways to spice up your Skyhook life? Look no further! You can now add special rules to each match, like enabling Double Jump, having endless Berserk Powerups, and play in endless Slow Motion! My favorite option is Deadly Dodges, where you can use your Dodge as an attack to kill other players. You can also disable powerups.
Unlike the Mirror powerup, which will confuse your enemies by turning them into you, the new Mask powerup will grant you the look and abilities of one of the other Skyhook characters. Temporarily teleport as Anara or dive into the ground as Fin.
Other Features
Swamplands and Magma Cove can now be played with CPU players!
Changes
Improved AI for Capture The Swag mode.
Improved flying AI for bots on flying mounts.
Glow effect and rumble to indicate when you are being transformed into another character.
Player holding the Swag will now be slowed by 80% movement speed.
Rumble added to interactions in Capture The Swag.
Changed default keyboard keys to be W,E, and R.
Menu navigation buttons will now show on the bottom of most menu screens.
Improved initial loading time for game.
Fixes
Fixed bug with stage name overflowing on World Map.
Fixed bug with not being able to cancel out of player join screen after CPUs auto join.
Update #8 - Magma Cove
A new stage has been added to the world map, the Magma Cove. Along with a brand new game mode where you fight over a bag of swag!
Tread carefully in the Magma Cove, the new stage with a rising lava floor that you really don’t want to dip your feet in. Use the hanging chains to grapple onto or escape your enemies. Magma Cove is currently only available for matches without CPU players.
Each stage drops one bag of swag for everyone to fight over. Whoever holds it the longest wins the match! Use your hooks to steal the swag for each other. Watch out though, if you try to dodge, you’ll drop the swag!

Update #7 - Skies of Frostguard
This week I'm excited to bring you the first new stage since Skyhook launched on Early Access, Frostguard! With it comes a whole new type of powerup, mounts that you can ride for a short amount of time, and better AI to play against. Take a look!

Venture to the frozen skies of Frostguard, the home of Runa and the Sky Vikings of the north.
Watch for the newest power up and mount, the Gryphons of Frostguard! Hatching one of their eggs will grant you a temporary Gryphon mount to electrify your enemies out of the sky.
Changes
Thicker team mode outlines on sprites.
Hearts, ropes, trails, and other color coded elements will match player’s team color.
Most sound effects will now play at slightly random pitches to add variation.
No trail effect when invisible.
Cursor will automatically hide for CPU players.
