Ball 1.8 is here!


  • Ball version 1.8 released. Further changes are coming but the core of the new ball is in. Let us know your thoughts!
  • Backfill stopped if the match is more than half over
  • Dive save improvements: more accurate with what is actually a save vs ends up as a scored point, can no longer be spammed
  • Matchmaking is now retried multiple times before starting a local host match
  • Various UI/UX fixes

Some Pride Fits and Prep for Ball 2.0


  • First batch of Pride cosmetics are featured in the store! Pride is year round so we'll be extending past June and will have a few more things available in the coming weeks
  • We're working hard on the backend to improve gameplay and network logic, focusing on a full ball revamp for how it syncs up with the server, more news on that soon

Thank you everyone who has been around for this past year, to all the new players who hopped on recently to the original group that know who Yumbo is. Slappyball hasn't made any giant splashes, but its thanks to the people sticking around its had its small little success on this corner of the internet.

Alright, enough sappy talk!

Get the new birthday hat from the Daily Store before it disappears.

You can now pick the number of points in a set for Custom Matches.

Reduced frequency of matchmaking join issues.

There are less shoe squeaks overall now, rejoice, the people who were getting really annoyed with that!

Players joining midmatch should no longer reset player positions.

Bug Control

Some misc bug fixes here!



Fixed dribbling sound on replays.

Fixed wrong court size sometimes appearing on custom server match join.

Reduced instances of ball phasing through hand.

Fix for custom server popup for failure after match started.

Ball Rotation

Ball changes and various fixes for y'all.



Reduced ball jitter that would occur frequently in certain matches.

Added proper ball rotation after every hit.

Reduced speed of L2 flip hits. Let us know how it feels or if there are other moves that are still too powerful.

Made a fix for players sometimes not joining server matches properly on start.

Custom Server matches: Shuffle players now works properly.

Competitive Dive Changes & Bug Fixes

Keep giving us feedback on the new dive, and tell us if you have anymore issues with these bugs.



Reduced range of the competitive dive assist.

Players will appear to teleport less often now on higher pings.

Fixed the ball sometimes not being hittable at serve line.

Corrected the color order for customizing items with controller.

Give us more information if you see anymore issues with the following:



Fix for ranked matchmaking entering an empty match when queuing for both ranked and casual

Fix for max number of players on server hosted custom limited to 6

Keep an eye out for the next build with a newly designed Daily Store with new cosmetics. And keep sending those bug reports in!

Host your custom matches from any available servers now!

A mix of gameplay polish and new custom match features are in this update!



New Custom Match options, including flip and power up toggles, exact bot counts per team, and:

Premium players can host games on any available server in custom matches!

Option changes made by server host now shown to other players in lobby.

Players have more control over how far to dive based on how long the button is held, adjusted how dive assist works.

New competitive dive option used in ranked and as option in custom matches. Reduces amount of dive assist so that it requires more skill.

High latency games now handle double jumps and dives more consistently

Ball prediction code revamped again to be more responsive and accurate. This is a work in progress so let us know of any issues you have.

Please send in any feedback you have about the new competitive dive, the ball prediction, and if you have more options you would want for custom matches.

Version .35 is live now!

Improved ball prediction and syncing when playing online matches. The ball location should now be more accurate and responsive

Improved performance in all 3 arenas. Estimated at more than 20% improvement in performance

Ball max speed limited to help avoid balls being impossible to hit. Future updates will further limit flip hits to not be overpowered

Reduced motion blur. We may introduce an option for increased motion blur in the future

Adjusted collision on top of colosseum poles

3 point max size slightly reduced, so even in high volley rounds there’s still strategy to positioning your hand

Welcome to the Romehand Faire!

The Cyberpunk items are gone, and now we are going low tech with the Romehand Faire.



New Slappypass, new items. There are some new types of items available with this pass, get new team names, a new face, and tattoos.

Play matches on the Coliseum arena. Avoid the chariots racing around the edges, and make sure to put on a good show for the audience.

Overall leveling is now tracked properly outside of seasons.

If you haven't been here in awhile, we also have a brand new UI look and a Ranked mode option. Ranked rewards will be coming soon, so start getting matches in early.
