Major updates for this version with the new Forged in Hell update!

The first major update for Smelter, Smelter: Forged in Hell, is finally out and ready for you to dive in!

We shared with you a couple of the biggest changes in this update in our last post so we won't get into the nitty-gritty of all the changes/fixes that were made but, just as a bit of a refresher, below are the ones that we think you'll like.

Action Mode

We know that strategy isn't everyone's cup of tea so we decided to add something with a little more of a kick. The new Action mode will let you dive right in to the platforming/action portions of Smelter via while leaving the questing and expanding of Smelter's magnificent empire to his faithful Zirm forces. The map might look similar to the original at first glance, but don't be fooled! Smelter can now hop between stages in an instant, clear them and open up more paths to new places!

In addition to this, some of the dialogs have also received some love in order to reflect the new flow of this mode.

Boss Rush Mode

Who doesn't love pummeling big, bad guys in rapid succession?

This new Boss Rush mode lets you do just that! All the boss battles in the game have been pulled together so that Eve and Smelter can lay the smackdown on the Guardians and the Watch of the Rumbly Lands one right after another.

Additionally, with this new mode, you can test your skills with the different elemental abilities but there's a catch -- the higher in difficulty you go, the more your abilities are limited so good luck (you might need it)!

In order to unlock this mode, you'll need to make it towards the end of the game but we'll let you find out where for yourselves!

Classic Mode

Classic Mode is the original version of the game in all of its former glory! Additionally, Action and Classic modes are saved on separate slots* so don't worry about which one you choose. You can always start a new game in another mode if your heart so desires.

*Auto-save functionality may override when switching between modes, so please make sure to manually save when changing between the two.

We've also made a few additional fixes to the original game as well for those pesky bugs.

That about wraps it up and the team is super excited to hear what everyone thinks of the new update! As always, feel free to stop by our Discord channel or reach out to us on the Discussion boards!

Awesome Smelter Update Coming Soon!

Hello everyone!

It’s been a while and we wanted to share some exciting news with you.

A whole year has passed since we launched Smelter out into the wild
(April 22nd, 2021 seems so long ago doesn’t it?) and as part of our anniversary
celebrations, we wanted to announce that we’re in the process of giving Smelter
a bit more of a polish, if you will.

With that in mind, we’re adding few exciting features that fans of platformers
might particularly enjoy.

Our new FREE update, Forged in Hell will be the same Smelter you all love,
with new modes and new ways to play!

Let’s get into it shall we?

Action Mode

This is the big one! We’ve taken Smelter and added a little autonomy to the
experience. Now, the overworld RTS aspect of the game has been left to Smelter’s
subordinates to deal with, allowing Eve and Smelter to tackle the butt-kicking
platforming-action, providing a more streamlined experience.

As part of this mode, we’ve also tweaked some of the dialog to reflect this new
delegation of duties. Smelter’s forces will now inform you of all the hard work
they’ve been doing to secure the Rumbly Lands for you, while you can focus on the fisticuffs!

Boss Rush Mode

Want to get into the heavy stuff and test your mettle? Well now you can!

Boss Rush Mode is exactly what you’d expect. We’ve taken all of the boss encounters
in the game and put them together, ready to confront Eve and Smelter in a no holds barred
series of challenges. Speaking of challenges, we’ve also added a little extra twist to this mode.
We’ve jumbled Smelter’s powers a bit based on the difficulty, meaning you won’t have your
full arsenal all at once for fights, so you’ll have to adopt new strategies to take down some of the
tougher opponents!

Classic Mode

Classic Mode is Smelter in its original form, as the hybrid platformer/RTS that you know and love. An important note, ACTION MODE and CLASSIC MODE have separate save slots* meaning that if you’re a returning player, all of your previous game saves are secure, even when you dabble in Action Mode.
New players can get a taste of both experiences too, dipping into either
without compromising progress. Both modes can be accessed from the main menu.

*Auto-save functionality may override when switching between modes, so please make sure to manually save when changing between the two.

Be sure to look out for this awesome update coming in June this year!
