Smoke and Sacrifice

New Side Quests and Possession Wand Now Available!

Hi,

We've been very glad to hear from the many players who are enjoying helping Sachi peer through the smoke.

To celebrate the game launching on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, we've added new content to the game that players on all platforms can experience right now!

Explore the 'Lost Industry' area of the world and you will find BACON, a Help-o-Matic who has been wandering the land looking for new orders for many years. By completing his quests, you can obtain the Possession Wand, a powerful new weapon which Sachi can use to inhabit the bodies of the monsters she encounters. By becoming a powerful creature she can use its attacks to defeat her enemies. It's great fun and provides yet another way to approach combat in the game.

Now is a great time to revisit the game and discover the fate of Sachi's world for yourself!

Enjoy!

Smoke and Sacrifice Original Soundtrack DLC released

Hi,

The soundtrack to Smoke and Sacrifice plays a important part in creating the mood of other-worldliness and hope that drives Sachi’s story forward. Now, we’re delighted to announce the release of the stand-alone soundtrack on Steam so you can listen to Richard Wilkinson’s beautiful and foreboding compositions whenever you want.

Provided both as as MP3 files and lossless FLAC files, the soundtrack includes new edits of the dynamic music in each part of the world, themes for many of the story moments in the game, and an original track created for the game’s trailer.

Enjoy!

Hi!

We've been delighted to read so many positive reviews, it's great that so many people are enjoying the game.

We've also been paying close attention to those comments where players have flagged up issues to us and we're happy to announce that we are responding with a set of 'quality of life' improvements to the game. We'll be rolling these fixes and enhancements out in the very near future.

These improvements will be itemised when each patch is released, but we can say that the areas we intend to work on include the save system, inventory and item handling, 'grind'/ item decay and quest guidance/signposting.

Hints and Tips for Smoke and Sacrifice

Controls

If you’re playing with a mouse and keyboard, the best way to control Sachi is to use the WASD keys. Click the right mouse button to attack, and the left mouse button to investigate objects in the world.

The game has a quick weapon switch which you’ll also find useful. Use the mouse wheel or the shoulder buttons on a controller to switch between weapons.

Save Your Game Often

Smoke and Sacrifice doesn’t save the game for you. For that, you need to find a Save Terminal. Remember to use them frequently. The underworld is a dangerous place, and if your last save is a long way back, being killed will really hurt!

Prepare for Smoketime

Once you reach the underworld, you have only a short amount of time before the Smoke arrives. Light sources such as glowferns and save terminals will protect you, but leave you stuck in one spot and vulnerable to attack. What you really need is a lantern, so don’t delay - find someone friendly who will tell you how to make one!

Show that Bear!

Some of the characters you’ll meet in the game will ask to see special items you’re carrying, indicated by a floating icon above their head. When this happens, you’ll need to stand near the character, open your inventory, choose the item in question, then select ‘Show’.

Fighting Is Not Always the Answer

Finding the combat tough? You’ll find that crafting or upgrading your armour and weapons can make fights a lot easier. You can often find creative ways of dispatching creatures without combat, or getting a helping hand from other creatures in a battle...

Don’t Know What to Do Next?

Stuck? Don’t worry! Revealing the mysteries of the Smoke can be tricky at times. The Quest Log always shows you what you can do next though. Press ‘Q’ on the keyboard or D-pad up on a controller to see it.

Still stuck? Post on the Steam discussion forum for the game or drop us an email on hello@solarsailgames.com and we’ll help you out!
