Back again with another small update from Team Snake Pass. We're just two weeks away from launch on all platforms, how crazy is that? Not long at all to go until you'll be slithering around the peaks of Haven Tor and really thinking like a Snake.
Since announcing Snake Pass early last year, we've had a ton of people ask us about the Snake Physics we use in the world and how Noodle moves around. To hopefully answer some of those questions, we put together this second dev diary to talk all things technical and explain how Unreal Engine 4 helps power our game and make it the snakiest experience of them all!

Lets Talk - Pricing and Dev Diaries!

If you’ve been keeping up with the news, you’ll know that the past few weeks have been all go for the Snake Pass team. From the Nintendo Switch news, revealing David Wise has composed the Snake Pass soundtrack, to our release date announcement last week; it’s been crazy to say the least! But, we’re still not done as we have a few things we’d like to talk about today!

THE FUN BIT - DEV DIARIES
From game jam to digital release on four platforms simultaneously, in the past 12 months of development, Snake Pass has dramatically changed. From the scope, to level design, right through to the visual style, it’s all seen change in one way or another and has been an incredible journey to witness. When we began building Snake Pass, we thought it would be really cool to capture this evolution and pull back the curtain that often cloaks game development – bringing you some real stories direct from the dev team. It was that reason we decided to put together a series of dev diaries and we’re launching the first one today! Check it out above and let us know what you think.
“The first developer diary shows how quickly the game evolved. That original prototype already had the feel we wanted, but it was building an actual game around it that became the challenge,” Said Seb Liese, creator of Snake Pass. “Seeing that rudimentary green snake is quite comical now. We worked so hard to turn him into something charming and ended up with the Noodle you see today, a character I hope that everyone will love.”
THE BIT ABOUT PRICING
This is something we know a lot of you have been asking about and now we’re finally ready to give you guys an answer: How much will Snake Pass cost? We’re pleased to announce that Snake Pass will be available for £16.99, $19.99 and €19.99 on Steam! Regarding pre-orders/launch discounts these are avenues we’re exploring and will provide an update on them both at a later date, but as of right now we’re focusing our efforts on getting the game into your hands. Not long to go now!

Snake Pass Slithering Onto Steam March 28th/29th
Steam community! We have some sssweet news to share with you all. We're pleased to announce that Snake Pass will be available on Steam from March 28th (US) and 29th (EU).
It's a question a lot of you have been asking us over the past several weeks and now it's out there we can sigh a giant breath of relief. Our world is alight right now as excitement across the web pours in. All of us on the Snake Pass team just want to thank every single one of you for your support the past several months.

It's time for the Snake Pass team to wave goodbye to 2016 and usher in 2017!
It's almost here...2017 that is! As 2016 prepares to sneak out of the back door of the theater, we've got just enough time to put this last post together for our Steam community.
For some of you, we know 2017 has already arrived (and a happy new year to you, people of the future!) but for ourselves in the United Kingdom, we're still counting down the minutes until the festivities begin and we bid adieu to 2016.
Of course, whilst there is still life in 2016, we thought it would be cool to take a look back at this fang-tastic (There's the first Snake pun...) year as well as provide a quick sssneak peek (Two...) at what's to come from us in the future!
2016 - A Retrospect
It goes without saying, 2016 has been one heck of a journey for us. A journey that none of us expected to be on and one that has only gone from strength to strength.
Back in April we announced Snake Pass at EGX Rezzed in London. It seems crazy to us now looking back at it - just 4 of us manning our 2 little pods. This was a complete first for us. None of us knew what to expect or how our slithery platformer would be received. What came next totally blew our minds.
People loved it! YOU, the fans, loved it. Hundreds of people just kept coming back for more. From the hugely positive reception of that single event, we went straight into full production. YOU helped us do that. YOU helped cement the path our game would take and we cannot thank you all enough. If you happen to be at one of our events - please, grab a hug.
The Hype Train Doesn't Stop There
Of course, our winding journey hasn't stopped there.
Since then? Well, that's where things have only gotten better.
We were personally invited by the legendary DOUBLE FINE PRODUCTIONS to showcase at Day Of The Devs 2016.
We've showcased at PlayStation Experience in Anaheim, California
We've had full two page articles dedicated to Snake Pass.
and SO MUCH MORE.
Of course, there's still one thing that tops all others; We made a thing.
We made a thing and thousands of you loved it. So much so that here we are on Steam (and consoles stores), getting ready to ship the thing next year. THAT has been one of our biggest achievements of this year.
From gamejam to published title...Yeah, that's really cool.
The best is yet to come
Yet, as cliché as it may be for us to say it; the best is still yet to come! We still have so much more to show and share with you over the next several months.
Although we cannot share too many details, (our marketing and PR team would kill us!) rest assured, we still have tons of important details to share about Snake Pass.
When is it coming out?
What's in the final game?
What future plans do we have?
Why can't Noodle eat Doodle?!
