DEATHSTORM PART 2: INFILTRATION

is the second chapter and mission in the new three-part campaign for Sniper Elite 4 for 1-2 players.



Agent Karl Fairburne has recovered the ‘Deathstorm’ package – canisters full of deadly plutonium particles. Now he’s been dispatched to the Fascist-occupied north of Italy to find out what the Nazis are planning for their new weapon. The beautiful medieval town of Niroli, now a regional centre for the Nazi propaganda machine and garrisoned with a strong Italian force, holds the key to Deathstorm.

The new SNIPER ELITE®4 content doesn't end there; The URBAN ASSAULT EXPANSION PACK also arrives on April 25th packed with 8 urban-themed rifle skins, male and female ghillie characters and 3 iconic new weapons: the Winchester, Sten and Walther PPK.

FREE CONTENT


In addition, Rebellion have released a HUGE FREE UPDATE FOR ALL PLAYERS packed with new content and gameplay tweaks (see patch notes here:).

A free new map, “Urban”, works across Survival mode and all competitive multiplayer modes, including a returning favourite – Capture the Flag!

  • Fixed quick-scope exploits.
  • Fix auto-fire-on-load issue with saves during chambering. Various other weapon interactions also fixed.
  • “All Clear” notification now appears only when all AI are no longer alert, meaning co-op players will not see it if their partner is still in combat.
  • Fix for AI having no weapon.
  • Fix for birds landing in mid air.
  • Fix issue with wide-field-of-view bullet-cams when in ultra-widescreen resolutions.
  • Improve handling of corrupt profiles.
  • Fix subtitle scaling for eyefinity.
  • Dropped player weapons now retain the correct quantity and type of ammo.
  • Killing other players no longer provides score in Survival.

Dedicated Server Public RCon Support

As part of our improvements to the Sniper Elite 4 Dedicated Server we have added remote web connection support for server administration. By visiting rcon.sniperelite4.com/ you can now connect to your server and view realtime updates, as well as perform a variety of administrative tasks. The web application can also be run offline and is bundled as a stand alone web page.



Features of the web interface include:

  • Realtime game status updates
  • Interactive console input (rcon) and output
  • View connected players

    • Click through to their public Steam profile
    • Issue kicks and bans


To enable public RCon support, follow these steps:

  • Optionally configure the IP of the network interface to listen on, using RCon.IP
    The default is 127.0.0.1 so will only accept local connections.
  • Optionally configure the port to listen on, using RCon.Port
    The default is port 27080.
  • Set a password using RCon.Password
  • Issue the RCon.Listen command to start listening on the configured IP and port

NOW LIVE - PATCH 1.2

FREE MP MODE AND MAP



In our first wave of free new content, we're introducing the Elimination game mode. A 2-team mode for up to 12 players, this is last-team-standing with a twist - you can bring back fallen comrades by taking down your enemies. One kill can make all the difference.

We're also releasing our first free MP map, Night Woods.

  • Updated Achievements

Singleplayer

  • Applied various Steam controller fixes.
  • “Drop Down” added to keyboard bindings for remapping.
  • Ensured saves don’t occur while the player is in mid-air. Also reduced occurrences of saves next to an exploding vehicle.
  • Vehicles now resume what they were doing previously when restored from a save, and no longer persist with dead targets. Tweaked tank and pillbox vision.
  • Fixed various weapon glitches and bugs to reduce chances of players or AI having no visible weapon, or weapons held in the wrong pose or using the wrong animation. Picked-up weapons now retain their skin if that was not the base model.
  • Scope will no longer allow the player to see through various objects.
  • Fixed binocular reticule glitch in 3D.
  • Standing in a bush no longer awards a foliage kill. Also improved the detection for various other stats and shot callouts.
  • Bullet cams in Eyefinity and other super-wide resolutions should no longer zoom in excessively.
  • AI now slightly less prone to exploitation by player during investigations. Dead bodies more likely to stop AI running into obvious death-traps.
  • Applied various fixes for corrupt profiles.
  • Fixed issues with various challenges:

    • No Manual Reloading (Allagra Fortress)
    • No Tagging (various)
    • Melee Ace (Abrunza Monastery)

  • Fixed miscellaneous document on Giovi Fiorini Mansion

Multiplayer

  • The server browser can now be sorted on any column.
  • The “Invite” button will now work when connected to dedicated servers.
  • Dedicated servers will now be included in matchmaking.
  • Dedicated servers now support remote connections from the Sniper Elite 4 RCON web interface. See our follow up announcement for more details.
  • Applied various dedicated server fixes.
  • Ensured Overwatch characters are restored right way round if starting from a save.
  • Players will be harder to tag through objects.
  • Applied various out-of-world and collision fixes to reduce exploits on all maps.

We’re still aware that a small number of people are still experiencing corrupt profile issues. To help us with fixing it, if you see a ‘corrupt save’ or ‘corrupt profile’ error on startup, could you immediately Alt-Tab out of the game and backup your save data to send to Customer Support.

Night Fighter Expansion Pack



Dominate the dark with eight night-themed rifle skins, male and female ghillie characters for competitive MP and Survival modes, and three new weapons: the Mauser, OVP M1918 and silenced Nagant.

SNIPER ELITE®4: DEATHSTORM LAUNCHES NEXT WEEK

New campaign mission and FREE multiplayer add-ons incoming!



The first chapter in DEATHSTORM, a BRAND NEW mini-campaign for SNIPER ELITE®4, launches March 21st, 2017 on PC. It headlines a glut of new content coming to the game on Tuesday, including FREE multiplayer add-ons!

DEATHSTORM PART 1: INCEPTION is the opening chapter and mission in the three-part campaign, playable from start to finish for 1-2 players. Set after the events of the main game, the first chapter takes players to the colder terrain of northern Italy, and a Nazi naval base recently targeted in a bombing run.

With imposing scaffolding, a German destroyer and myriad Kriegsmarine soldiers to negotiate, Karl Fairburne must help finish what the bombing run started. But his primary mission concerns the secret Manhattan Project: To retrieve a critical, mysterious package codenamed Deathstorm...

The new SNIPER ELITE®4 content doesn't end there; The NIGHT FIGHTER EXPANSION PACK also arrives on March 21st, It includes three new weapons, night-time camo rifle skins for eight weapons and new male and female characters skins.

Multiplayer fans, meanwhile, can look forward to ELIMINATION, a brand new mode that also drops on March 21st, and it's FREE.

This two-team mode for up to 12 players is all about trying to whittle down your opponent's numbers. If you kill an enemy player, they're forced to sit out on the sidelines. But if their team kills one of your teammates, they tag back in one of their sidelined comrades. In Elimination, all is not lost, even when you're 1 v 6.

SNIPER ELITE®4 players are getting their first FREE multiplayer map on March 21st too, called NIGHT WOODS. As previously pledged by Rebellion, ALL additional multiplayer maps and modes for the game will be FREE.

Sniper Elite 4 - The road ahead!

Hi everyone!

Here we are, nearly a month after launch. We hope you’ve been enjoying your time in Italia so far, however we’ve still got a LOT of content in the works for Sniper Elite 4! Today we’re thrilled to announce the release date for the game’s first major singleplayer and multiplayer content update and share with you our longer-term schedule for free and paid content!

Remember new Survival missions, multiplayer maps and modes will be FREE for all players.

All paid content will be included in the Season Pass (including Digital Deluxe Editions) or available to buy separately.

Where possible, we aim to release content at the same time on PS4, Xbox One and PC, though there may be some scheduling differences because of the way digital stores work.

Bewares the Snipes of March



Towards the end of March we’ll be releasing not one but TWO big add-ons for the game!

The first is Deathstorm Part 1: Inception, the opening chapter and mission in our BRAND NEW three-part mini-campaign with a completely new storyline for 1-2 players. Look out for more info soon and a first-look trailer!

The second is the Night Fighter Expansion Pack, a value-stuffed content drop featuring three new weapons, night-time camouflage rifle skins for eight weapons, and two new characters.

BUT we also have tons of FREE content arriving around the same time! This month’s freebies include a brand new multiplayer mode called Elimination, in which two teams try to whittle down their opponent’s numbers. If you’re killed you’re forced to sit on the sidelines - but not permanently! If your team kills an opponent player, they get to tag back in one of their sidelined teammates. All may seem lost in Elimination, but all it takes is one kill to turn the tide!

We’ll also introduce a brand new multiplayer map called Night Woods – check out the debut screenshot to whet your appetites!

We know you’re all eager to hear about all the additional content coming to Sniper Elite 4, but we’re still hard at work putting it together! However, today we’d like to give you an idea of what to expect and when, so here’s the roadmap for the next few months:

Small update today!

Singleplayer:


  • Authentic mode now shows exfiltration icons on the map so players know where to go to finish the mission.
  • Fixed bug where game progress could be lost when save profile data got too large. This should also prevent corruption of the custom controls. For those who have already lost progress we have a further patch undergoing testing to restore, as best we can tell, the progress you have lost. Please bear with us!

Multiplayer:


  • Viewing the game settings menu no longer causes the clients game settings to become out of sync with the host
  • Fix an instance where joining a different lobby to the one selected from the browser could occur.

Today we’re releasing the game’s first post-launch patch on Steam for PC, and dropping some new content packs. Details below!

Tailored for covert warfare, two new packs are available to purchase today. If you own the Sniper Elite 4 Deluxe Edition or Season Pass, both will unlock automatically!

Covert Heroes Character Pack
Expand your force with three formidable new characters. Play as the elite Russian sniper Roza Petrovna of the Red Army 25th Rifle Division, the highly-trained British Commando or the ghillie-clad trooper!

Silent Warfare Weapons Pack
Equip your campaign, multiplayer or co-op loadouts for total stealth with the silenced Carbine and HDM semi-automatic pistol and then mop up any survivors with the powerful new Grease Gun!

Our first PC patch launches today. We’ll continue to monitor your feedback and further improve the game.

New options:

  • A full-screen borderless window option is now supported from the launcher. This is an alpha release and we welcome any feedback in the forums. Thank you to everyone who requested this!
  • “Binaural Simulation” audio settings are now available on the launcher and defaults to “off” rather than being enabled as part of the “Headphones” audio option. This will fix stuttering on a limited number of processors.

Multiplayer

  • Fixes to the multiplayer browser – the filter tick-boxes should now be fully functional and the list of games should sorted in a more sensible order.
  • Dedicated servers should no longer report one of the players as the host.
  • Fixes for various crashes and disconnections.
  • Various localisation fixes.

Singleplayer

  • Various localisation fixes
  • Fixes for various crashes
