Our first exciting announcement today is a sneak preview at our work on developing some AI opposition for single players or to make up the numbers in larger games where needed. Witness our first Soccer Nations bots training hard!
Artificial... intelligence? Not quite yet, but soon!
Okay, so it might look chaotic, but it's the first steps towards something big! Deep Learning is a system for training AI that doesn't rely on hardcoded reactions to events. Instead they learn via reward and punishment. It takes a lot more effort to set up initially and a lot of time spent training, but the result will be far more organic and real artificial intelligence that should provide far more entertaining opponents or allies.

After the success of the Ship and Underwater arena a month ago, we've just launched the Purgatory arena, where you can play as angels or demons :)

Update coming up: more arenas
Last week we had a great showcase of Soccer Nations Battle at indie game showcase Indigo (Utrecht, Netherlands). We tested a bunch of new arenas for the game: for instance an arena on a moving ship, and an underwater arena. We're polishing these arenas a bit and will then update the game here on Steam. Looking forward to see what you think of them!
