Version 0.9.0 has been released to closed alpha testers.


  • Added new ship assets for all Gaian ships.
  • Fixed an issue where the player could get stuck in the training mission and be unable to proceed by examining an enemy ship near the start of the mission.
  • Fixed an issue where the ship card The Archleon King would have zero ship statistics, such as speed and power.
  • Fixed a major layout issue with the stockpile (resource totals) shown on the user interface.
  • Fixed a few minor issues with text positioning on card layouts.

0.6.0 Release Notes

Version 0.6.0 of the game has been released to closed alpha testers. This new release will automatically start the tutorial for brand-new players. We highly recommend you try the in-game tutorial if you haven't already.

0.5.0 Release Notes

Version 0.5.0 has been released to closed alpha testers.


  • A training button has been added to the main menu. We highly recommend all aspiring commanders to press this button and go through basic training to learn the fundamentals of interstellar warfare.
  • A feedback button has been added to the main menu as well. We strongly encourage that you press this button and fill out the feedback form so we can make the game better. This form can also be used to report bugs.

  • Redesigned the main menu.
  • Added sounds for Nexian ships.

0.1.0 Release Notes

This is the initial closed alpha launch of the game.

Major Features



  • You can start a match against a computer player with by pressing "Play Now" on the main menu, or by pressing "Setup Game" on the main menu.
  • You can view existing multiplayer matches and start your own multiplayer match by pressing "Multiplayer" on the main menu.
  • You can place ships and planets on the game board.
  • You can attack with those ships to destroy enemy ships and conquer planets.
  • You can win the game by conquering the enemy player's capital world. (Of course, this means you can lose the game if your capital world is conquered.)


Known Issues



  • There are some desynchronization issues that can occur in multiplayer.
  • Card effects have not been implemented yet, although you can see information about card effects by examining cards.
  • In the setup game menu, certain deck names are cut off in the user interface.
  • The text "closed alpha" in the lower right corner of the menus is sometimes cut off.
  • You can attempt to place cards "through" the hand UI by dragging and dropping a card out of your hand and then back into your hand.

The Closed Alpha Begins!

We are proud to announce that Solar Command™ is available for download on PC and Mac via Steam with a valid alpha key.

We would like to thank everyone who helped us reach this important milestone in the game's development. Every little bit helped, whether you tested the playable prototype, tried out a demo build of the game, or simply gave some advice.

We'll be doing our best in the coming months to continue to polish up the game and address feedback in future releases.
