We're happy to announce that we've updated our previous closed alpha test with LOTS of new content, bug fixes, and platform support ahead of our upcoming closed beta test. This new build contains the first three levels (right about half of the full game!) for both Windows and Mac computers.
What to Test
EVERYTHING! We've done our best to find all the nooks and crannies people can get stuck in, freezes/crashes, and all other sorts of bugs you might encounter in the game, but there are still plenty out there. Please let us know if you run into anything!
Known (Major) Issues
Frame drops (especially on the River level)
Collectable UI doesn't update on pause screen (River)
Music doesn't sync up in River
Thanks so much again for all your support. And please let us know what you think!
Backer Alpha Launch!
Helloooooo Backers!
Welcome to the initial launch of our closed alpha test! It's been a while since we've put out a new update and couldn't be more excited to hear what you all think of the game so far. This initial (Windows-only, Mac support coming soon!) alpha build contains the first two levels of the game. The game is still in active development so expect rough performance and minor bugs.
What To Test
EVERYTHING! As this is our first build, we're curious to hear all about your play experience. Questions, ideas, concerns, bugs, etc. Everyone here at Gossamer is eager to incorporate your feedback into the game, so please tell us your thoughts.
Glyph collection progress doesn't save between play sessions
Unresponsive resolution options (click 2 or 3 times to change)
Camera JOLTS after Cave -> Mountain City cinematic
Using controller bumpers in setting screen breaks back button
Please let us know if you run into any bugs/crashes/issues and any info we can use to recreate. In the future we'll release specific patch notes detailing all the changes we've incorporated.
Thanks so much for checking out our debut game Sole! If you like what you see so far, why not download our demo from itch? This alpha build of the game's second level highlights the exploration-driven gameplay, beautiful visuals, and haunting soundscapes of Sole.
And if you'd like to help make Sole a reality, we could really use your help over on Kickstarter! As a brand new indie team, we'd absolutely love to hear what you think! Drop us a line here on Steam, or any of the usual social media channels.
