Update 1.2.5 brings one of our most anticipated additions to the game... Curses. Curses are similar to perks but are used by the Entity to modify your experience. There are 13 unique Curses that are able to be used by the Entity. Six for Ethereals, six for Cryptids, and one that they share.
Ethereal Curses
Trickster: Some evidence will be more challenging to find.
Famine: Much less ritual Items will be available to use in the environment.
Destructive: Closets will be destroyed instantly by the entity without it needing to be damaged.
Ritual Knowledge: The Entity will throw some ritual items in the beginning of a hunt.
Rage: Crosses will never end a hunt ( Negates Weak Spots Perk )
Merciless: Hunts continue even if a player has been killed
Cryptid Curses
Cardiac: Hearts will take longer to appear in the beginning of the match and every time a heart is placed.
Sacrifice: The Cryptid match will begin with that Cryptid's Kill Reward active.
Haste: The Cryptid will be able to use its Special Ability more often.
Silence: Cryptid footsteps are much quieter.
Thick Skin: Cryptids will take more damage before being deterred from a chase.
Backup: An additional Amalgamation will be present in the environment.
Shared
Predator: Entity speed increased.
Along with Curses we have also made improvements in other areas.
You are now able to scroll as fast as you would like.
Items will no longer appear like they are clipping through walls or objects in desktop
The placement system is more optimized and should feel smoother.
You are now able to place objects on top of other objects with the placement tool.
Equipping items in desktop should be more optimized and smooth.
Fixed a bug where infinite hunts could occur sometimes if a doppelganger killed a player.
Some balancing for Cryptids and Ethereals

Plenty of new additions have made their way into SOMNI in this newest update!
New Cryptid Nickel Smart - The Killer Clown its special ability is "Mimic" where it will laugh maniacally and clone itself. The clone is not able to kill the player, however if it does reach the player that player will be enveloped in a cloud of pink mist. If the Clown kills a player, it will place a balloon on a remaining player that is still alive. This balloon will eventually POP, calling the Clown to your location if its close enough to hear the POP!
The new Cryptid map is the "Circus."
The motion scanner is now confusion proof! It no longer shows players as dots, it will either show "No Motion" or it will show a Red Dot which is the ghost. Many were confused when they seen the white dots and thought that it was motion. This seems to be the best way to avoid any confusion/false alarms. The motion scanner still only updates when you refresh the screen!
A new Ghost-O-Matic model which allows for more buttons and a LCD screen instead of light up Ghost Names.
New Evidence: Doppelgangers - Doppelgangers look like you but aren't you, they will even act like you. If you get close enough to them they will reveal themselves and chase to kill you. The only way to dispatch them permanently is by using the pistol which is the new equipment in Ghost Maps. Crosses and Holy spray bottles will still make it go away temporarily but be careful for when it returns. Save your ammo for when you really need it for this evidence type.
New Evidence: Shadow People - Shadow People are a non hostile creatures that roam the environment. They are only able to be seen using a flashlight so it is important to carry one at all times!

"F" Now turns the flashlight on or off in desktop mode - this is rebindable in the UI and works even if the flashlight is not held at that moment
"Q" Is now the new button to throw your current item - this of course is still rebindable
We cut out "Drop Item" as an input to have less buttons on both keyboard and or gamepad
We reworked the controls on Gamepad Completely - a schematic for the new controls is coming shortly
The UI has been completely redone! everything is now done on your personal menu. Perks, Options, Controls, ETC.
New Information Section in the UI that explains everything a person would need to play the game!
"TAB" is now useable if you do not wish to use the mouse scroll wheel to change your item quickly. It only works in one direction as of right now. This button is rebindable in the personal menu.
General Balancing of Cryptids and Ethereals
Perks have now been increased to their price that they will be when the full release happens
Posters have been removed from the safe room in all maps. Only essential posters such as how to read the ritual symbols remain.
Darkened the Burning House Map and slightly reduced the intensity of the flames to make some evidence easier to see.
Cryptid Types section added to the personal menu in the information section that shows what their abilities are to reference if you forget.
Rebalanced Ghost Evidence with the addition of the new ghosts and the new evidence.
Ethereal Entities will now require more evidence to find out what kind it is!
We are also finishing the setup to have SOMNI translated into other languages! We are always searching for more ways to avoid any confusion while playing our game and we are excided about the opportunity that this will bring to many new and current players!

Below you will find a list of things changed in SOMNI for update 1.2.3! This update mostly focused on improving the feel of the game, by making it as quick and easy as possible to change levels and get as much FPS as possible!
Load times drastically improved.
Frame rate improved.
Hunt duration shortened.
Intermission between hunts slightly shortened.
You are now able to change your character's shirt color by choosing the same character. It will randomize the color of your shirt from a few options, this way multiple people who are the same character can tell each other apart if they wish to do so!
Fog lights are now in all Cryptid maps adding a bit of extra visibility and ambiance.
Some minor bug fixes.
Thanks to our player base we are able to continue to keep making SOMNI more optimized and bug free! There are a few things that we're working on currently that we are so excited to show off. Stay tuned for the next few updates and as always thank you so much for checking out and or playing SOMNI!
Update 1.2.2 Is Live!
Below is the list of enhancements added to Somni for Update 1.2.2
The Werewolf has just been added into Somni and with it comes 2 challenges to overcome. It's special ability is its "Healing Factor" where it's eyes turn red and will take many more shots to deter from a chase. The Werewolf's "Infectious Bite" will turn the players it kills into smaller Werewolves that will hunt down other players.

Motion Scanner now shows the ghost as a red dot to differentiate the ghost from other players
All perks have been redesigned to work both against Cryptids or Ghosts so they can be useful in either situation.
Prices of perks reduced drastically

Ammo increased in all weapons
Dead players now have unlimited sprint
Ghost will no longer throw objects to avoid confusion, as some players thought that it counted as the motion detected evidence type.
Removed all soccer balls from ghost maps and added 2 to the lobby
Slightly changed the visuals of the ritual circle
Changed the "Placed Correct Ritual Item" particles to be more visible
Made it impossible for anything to be out of reach on the safe room tables
Enhanced the visual appeal of closets being destroyed
Amalgamations can now be heard from further away
A Milk Jug is now hidden in every map see if you can find them all!
Hiding in a closet is now more dangerous
Hiding behind a door is now much less safe
Ritual gun sounds now always play to make it easier to find if a player drops it
The amount of hiding spots and closets available in a map is now based on how many players there are along with the difficulty, not just the difficulty. So there will be more hiding spots if there are more players regardless of difficulty.
Changes to Perks
6th Sense now gives an auditory cue when you are spotted by the Cryptid ( does not happen with Lesser Entities like amalgamations or player werewolves )
External Knowledge now shows your team where every Heart is in the cryptid maps
Weak Spots will now allow players who have the perk to always completely end a hunt with a Cross or Holy Spray Bottle
Protection now works with cryptids - It will respawn the main Cryptid and will kill amalgamations and player werewolves on contact if they were going to kill you. However it only works as 1 extra life
Bugs fixed in Somni 1.2.2
Fixed clients sometimes not being able to hear their heartbeat change when close to the ghost
Fixed ghost trying to get to players even if they are in the safe room during a hunt
Fixed guns would sometimes not have the correct amount of ammo displayed for the ammo count on the gun ( Gun would say 21 shots left but in reality it had 3)
Fixed unpossessing a player in while they were in between a door frame would cause them to be stuck in the door frame
Fixed clients not being able to see ritual gun particles at the end of the barrel if a client shot the ritual gun last and then threw the gun on the ground
Fixed a bug in desktop mode where if you switched from a shotgun to a beating heart one or your characters wrists would look broken
Fixed a bug where having multiple people in a closet, and someone has a cross, some people would live and some people would die. Now everyone lives. This also works with the perk "Protection." Protection will only be used if no crosses are available when the closet is destroyed.

Fixed a bug where if a VR player fired the last shotgun shot, and a desktop player picked up the shotgun. The desktop player would be able to shoot the shotgun indefinitely without cocking it back however there would be no damage output.

Changed hiding to no longer be crouch
Hiding button is now "C" but can be rebound in the rebind keys menu if you are on desktop
Hunt durations are now much more variable and depend on difficulty for the duration variation
Wendigo no longer respawns instantly when it is injured. There is a small delay before it respawns but the delay is less time dependent on difficulty
More amalgamations may spawn if there are more than 3 players playing as you have much more guns and ammo when there are more players
The intermission between hunts is now much more variable in the length in time of intermission and can happen faster if you are on a higher difficulty.
Apparition is now the only perk that can be equipped with another perk

Vr Hiding now uses a button on the controller. Press in your right joystick to crouch when next to a hiding spot
Toggle Crouch is now an option in the personal menu "Gameplay" section for desktop

Ritual Circles may not always spawn in the same place, it is good to look around the house to find the "RITUAL ROOM" ^Side note for this one remember that spawning a ritual early causes the entity to go into Phase 2 on the next hunt, so it is best to wait to spawn the ritual or gather items until the correct Entity is identified.
Fixed a bug where you were sometimes able to get freezing temps if you weren't in the same room as the entity when it was hunting
Mostly obscured vision if looking through the floor in hiding places while playing in VR
If you switch between keyboard and mouse and gamepad in the middle of a game it will now switch the hiding prompts instantly
Lowered the prompts in VR for crouching, death, and possession so its no longer in the center of your vision
Made it less likely that the wendigo or amalgamations will spawn immediately in front of the safe room or kill people as they leave the safe room
Fixed a bug where if the entity was checking your hiding spot when the hunt ended and you survived because it proofed mid check you would not be able to exit the hiding spot
Removed some of the bloody arms that were going through the closets
Made it so that it should be impossible to be killed when your clipping through objects (like when your too close to doors or closet frames)
Slightly increased the curiosity of the entity for closets
Made it so that candles and emf won’t vibrate if dropped from high distances
Desktop players can no longer steal held items out of VR players hands

Somni 1.2.0 Is Live!
Somni Update 1.2.0 is meant to be "The Gameplay Update." Every time we have come out with an update in the past the entire game needed to be remade in order to get it to where we wanted it to be for that update. The Ai was the biggest thing that we wanted to improve on in this update, and also adding in something that this entire game has wanted from the beginning... Cryptids. We have spent a lot of time testing and perfecting this version of Somni to be sure that it works and is more fun and repayable than Somni has been in the past. We could not be more excited to have all of you try out update 1.2.0!
What is written below is by no means the only new things added to this update, however to save you time while reading we have decided to give you highlights on the most important changes!
- Somni's first cryptid, "The Wendigo": Cryptid gameplay is hard and can be considered a boss fight, however with more risk comes more reward with the all new money and leveling systems. When facing off against a cryptid you are given the bare minimum amount of ammo to survive your encounters. It is your mission to search around the environment and find 5 beating hearts to complete the ritual. Then use the weapon summoned by the ritual 3 times to end a cryptid for good. We hope you saved ammo for the last part of the fight or else your going to need to hide and hope it doesn't find you.
- Smooth Turning: One of the biggest requests from previous patches. Smooth turning is now working great and is optional, if you prefer snap turning for comfort.
- Heavily Improved AI/ Gameplay: Ghosts seek players and check hiding spots and closets, especially if it sees you enter a room. New hiding spots are available in each room, under tables, beds and other areas. Ghosts get more aggressive as time progresses and will break closets to limit player’s hiding spots. The hunts now have 2 phases. The first phase is exactly what you are used to when facing off against an Ethereal Entity in Somni. The second phase begins after a few hunts have passed, or if a ritual circle has been summoned. When phase 2 begins the safe room door will be broken down and bloody arms will reach through the walls in your environment. The Ethereal will have increased speed and will be more aggressive towards the players. Crosses will also no longer end a hunt completely after phase 2 has been started.
- The Holy Spray Bottle: The Holy Spray Bottle is a new form of defensive equipment when facing an Ethereal Entity. Spraying the mist in front of the entity as it runs towards you will have it temporarily disappear. Be sure to not let the Entity get too close to you before you spray it, and remember that it only has two uses.
- Perks: Buy perks with the money you earn from missions to change up your gameplay and aid in harder difficulties.
- Public Server Browser + Proximity Chat: Want to play SOMNI with the public? Now you can find open games whenever you wish, or change your lobby to public and have others join you. Proximity chat is now also available, and uses your default microphone on windows so be sure that that is set correctly before you try to speak in game. Use the personal menu to mute or unmute yourself in game!
- Heavily Improved Visuals and Performance: Both in single player and networked online! Rituals have been improved as well as the addition of the Ghost-O-Matic to put in your evidence and summon the ritual circle.

SOMNI's New Update is LIVE! Since release, we've been hard at work chasing down all of the issues from the launch version of SOMNI, along with implementing many suggestions from the community.
