Son.Light.Sleepwalker

New Main Menu Page

The Main Menu now has been redesigned to allow one to Continue where you left off or have the option to create a New Game.

It's the little things that add up to awesomeness. ;-).

For you Early Release owners, a lot has been added to the house in the last two weeks. Have fun!

Introducing Eferhilda the Bear!

With the latest release, we've added in another animated character - Eferhilda the Bear!

She is much very mischievous and adds several jump scares as the chapter puzzles progress.

Near Full Release!

I've been working my tale off to polish this off for the full release.

The latest build now has all the new cutscenes to transition between restarts.

There are 10 recorded that are randomized at the start of the game - so you won't get that Bethesda robot feeling from the AI while playing.

There is also a new animation for the son when he pounds on the door.

Enjoy!

Final Chapter Bug Fix!!!!

In the final chapter, a bug was introduced after I inserted a new chapter. It caused the player to bounce up and get stuck in the ceiling when running into walls. Ouch!

It's now fixed, so you now can much more easily navigate to the music horse and beat the game!

Autosaving After Each Chapter!

Son.Light.Sleepwalker now autosaves after each chapter. This will take away frustration of having to repeat chapters after leaving the game.

We'll add a menu to front screen that will let you select "Continue" or "New Game". For now, it is continuing where you left off the last time played.

We also threw in autopausing if you hit Shift Tab to view the Steam Overlay.

New Chapter Added!

Based on the data from the steam Achievements, it appears that I needed to add another level after the first one to allow the player to get use to the mechanics.

So, we added the "cookie jar" level. In the story, the boy is just sneaking a cookie in the middle of the night. But, because the Dad is all freaked out by him "sleepwalking", they play the night accordingly.

As we watch the stats from user interaction with the game, we'll continue to tweak the gameplay and levels.

Thanks for playing!

Steam Achievements Active!

We have integrated the Steamworks API into Son.Light.Sleepwalker!

The first achievement will be for getting the boy back into bed the first time.

Its fully test with both Windows and Linux. We'll release more achievements in the next week.

Introducing MAKER MODE

I just uploaded the latest build with Maker Mode! This allows 4D gaming - that is, triggering of real world effects to add to the jump scares. It will be available on 8/13/2018 when Steam allows the game release.

This is a mode for Makers - you know - people who like to hack with the Raspberry PI, Arduino, Trinket, etc.

You first connect the microcontroller to the PC via USB. When you pause the game, hit the letter 'm' for maker to cycle through your available COM ports.

When you resume the game, it will start sending a number 0 through 9 to the microcontroller at key events. Makers can code a microcontroller to trigger things like the following:

-blink lights on and off in your house
-turn on a fan
-start an old school tape recorder playing something creepy
-triggering a buzzer clipped to your collar to give you a jump

If you are a maker, the sky is the limit to adding in the 4th dimension.

Remember, don't let him go into the light---or he may awake!

See ya',
