Patch 0.1.3 is Live! New shop, new levels, new guardians!



Our latest patch includes a number of cool new content and features. In particular, we've added the first pass of our Store, where you can use the coins you gain during gameplay to buy crafting components to unlock more and rarer cards. Check the list out below, hop in and play, and tell us how you're feeling about the current state of the game! We're getting close now!

  • [New] Shop system added. New shop interface for buying different items.
  • [New] Coin rewards are now tracked and saved.
  • [New] Town has been unlocked and the first shop open: Buy the ingredients you want!
  • [New] Six Guardians added!
  • [New] Four more Levels!
  • [New] Flurry Ability: Adds Flurry when you hit an enemy. Allies can strike enemies with Flurry to get extra attacks!
  • [Fix] Prevented mixing invalid crafting combinations. No more broken random card creations.
  • [Fix] Pause state is preserved after minimizing game window.
  • [UI] Upgrade menu now specifies if you can't afford or are at maximum upgrade.
  • [UI] Added a replay button to the victory screen.

Advanced Targeting! Build 0.1.1 Now Ready for Play!

OMG. Lots of new content, much better targeting. Endless drops crafting components now. All told, it's a whole lotta awesome. Hop in, check it out, play, and give feedback on any new bugs (Bah, we never have bugs!) or balance issues, or whatever else you'd like to talk to us about!

Crafting is live! Build 0.1.0 is ready to play

It's been about 5 weeks since we've launched into Early Access, and this build marks a major step forward in finishing the "big features". CRAFTING! From here on out, balance will be moving more toward getting crafting components to fill out much of your deck. Defeat the forces of Chaos, collect crafting components, and uncover the Guardians of your own soul!

Please enjoy the latest build, please join us in the forums to discuss balance, and any problems you find. We're really excited about this build, and what it will allow us to focus on! Mainly, a lot more content, building in more RPG elements, and really fleshing out the remainder of the game!

  • [New] Additional Guardians are waiting to be discovered through crafting!
  • [New] Levels now reward crafting ingredients instead of full Guardian choices. We'll be adding quests with Guardian rewards later.
  • [New] Two new levels. Earlier levels have been visually updated to better match their world location.
  • [New] Map unlock system. Beat each map to unlock the next. New icon for completed maps. Existing games won't have any of the maps unlocked. Play through each once to unlock and earn crafting mats!
  • [New] Updated Save System! You can now create multiple games and try all the available Starting Guardians.
  • [New] Load Game added to the Title Screen. Old saves should be there! World map doesn't offer Load/Save yet, but still auto-saves reliably. In rare cases, some old saves may not work, particularly if they never finished the tutorial.
  • [New] Added Time Played and Monster Count to save Data. These will show as "??" until you load your game.
  • [New] New Guardian Ability: Armed - Deals extra damage based on the number of status effects on the target.
  • [Fix] Optimized projectiles. Should help with frame rate issues on endless.
  • [Fix] Spawns from enemy Splitters will now keep the same targeting priority as the Splitter they came from.
  • [Fix] Keen damage bonus was not applied correctly in all cases.
  • [Fix] Fixed a bug with Quit to Title, then loading another game.
  • [UI] Added Rarity stars on Guardian cards.
  • [UI] Added an Auto-save indicator.
  • [UI] New Load Game UI to go with the save system changes.

Greetings Luminaries!

The team wanted to take a few minutes and give our players an update on what we’ve been up to since the Early Access launch of Soul Locus: Cards of Order at the end of April:

  • We’ve got more than 10 tower defense levels of varying difficulties, and 2 endless levels!
  • We've been releasing new Guardians every week, with brand new abilities to try!
  • We’ve introduced 2 player abilities: Evolve, which lets you evolve rarer Guardians, and Augment, which lets you buff up a Guardian for 60 seconds.


Soul Locus is now upgraded to Unity 5! We've been wanting to do this for a while and finally pushed it through.

We’d also like to introduce you to our new moderator: Mel, known on Steam as sigilgoat. We brought on Mel as a local help around the office and now you'll also see their username helping out on the forums here on Steam!

The team is working hard on the large Crafting update, so we'll get back to it! Thanks for all of your support so far and we hope you all enjoy the evolution of Soul Locus.

Patch 0.0.5 is live!



We’ve got two more levels and a new endless map for Soul Locus this week! We heard your feedback about the endless level being not as difficult as some may like…how far can you get in this endless level?

Our new levels also feature a new Corruptor type: The splitter! This slimy Corruptor splits into more enemies when it's defeated. Don't get overwhelmed!

We’re also introducing 3 more guardians! Collect them in the new levels!

And on top of all of that, a new player ability! Augment! This buff gives boost to one Guardian’s skill ranks for 60 seconds.

Soul Locus 0.0.4 Live! New levels and Guardians!



We’ve got 3 new levels and 6 new Guardians for you to collect and train! You'll have access to some new support skills for your team, as well as a way to speed up Focus Crystals. This patch also fixed some bugs you let us know about, such as Targeting AI and improving the behavior of our Focus Crystals. We also added an option to listen to the game's soundtrack in the background, even outside of the game window.

[New] Added 3 additional missions!
[New] Added 6 Guardians!
[New] Added to mission option menu: Run in Background. Keep your game running out of window.
[New] Added to mission option menu: Music In Background. Enjoy the beautiful music while out of window.
[New] Scout Ability - buffs range of all guardians.
[New] Energize Ability - buffs speed of all guardians.
[New] Beacon Ability - Gains stacks of extra attacks when clicking on a focus crystal. Spawn crystals faster.
[New] The Ox regenerates health naturally, at a very slow rate.
[UI] When a mission ends, various UI will be properly hidden.
[UI] Endless mode now shows how many waves you cleared at the end.
[Bug Fix] Targeting AI will do a better job hitting closest to Ox. More to come.
[Bug Fix] Improved Focus Crystal behavior.
[Bug Fix] Correct odd pausing behavior in missions.
[Bug Fix] An evolved monster will stay evolved after recalling.
[Bug Fix] Inspire now works correctly on evolved monsters.

Hello everyone!

Here's the fixes, based on early player feedback and our own playtesting.

[Feature] Added a custom mouse cursor!
[Bug Fix] Welcome screen no longer shows obsolete info when Quitting to Title
[Bug Fix] Prevented infinite focus by pausing and clicking a Focus Crystal.
[Bug Fix] Right-click info works for both cards on the Reward Screen.
[Bug Fix] Fixed Inventory screen layering issue by having it close other windows when opened. (Primarily Level Preview)
[UI] Added a tooltip to Save/Load buttons to specify we have only have Autosaves at this time.
[UI] Added Steam Forum link on TitleScreen for easier feedback.
[UI] Cards on the Victory screen should no longer 'jump' if hovered over.
[UI] Added Tooltips to the main inventory card.
[UI] Disabled the mouse button SFX temporarily.
