Soul Reaper: Unreap Commander

Soul Reaper 1.2 is out!

Hello, fellow reaper of souls!

We just released Soul Reaper version 1.2. This is part of our monthly update.

Here's what you can expect:

Soulless monsters

1.2 doubles the number of monsters that were previously in the game for a total of 164 monsters. Soulless monsters are variations of the current monsters but with more potential. They have higher stats and have upgraded abilities. They are meant to help you defeat the stronger monsters more easily. They are also meant to bridge the gap in power between the (very strong) Soul Reaper and regular monsters.

You can obtain them in two ways:

  1. By trading a level 200 soul. You'll get the soulless version of that soul (though at level 1) as well as a unique legendary loot to buff it up even further.
  2. By defeating them in the challenging fights (see below). The chance of reaping them is much lower than regular monsters, but they're that good, so it's worth it. Also, the Soul Find attribute does increase your chances of getting it. Don't be afraid to go over 100%.

Here's what a full squad of them may look like:

9 new challenging fights

What good is adding that many monsters if you can't fight them, right? We thought so too! We've added 9 new challenging fights in the Moon's menu, under the "Soulless Army" section. These guys are tough. Like, real tough.

If you succeed in defeating the squad named Godly Lieutenants, please let us know what strategy you used to do it at info@powerlevelstudios.com. We found a few strategies to make it work, but we're intrigued to see what the community comes up with too.

Here is a screenshot to give you an idea of what the new challenges are:

Bug fixes

We'll do more bug fixing in future updates, but for this one, we've fixed some bugs regarding the monster and soul attributes. Some of them were not giving you exactly what it said. For example, the Bermutilator was showing that it was doing damage to all monsters at max level when it really was doing damage to two columns only.

We hope you enjoy this update!

Thank you for playing!

Happy reaping!

Carebear knockoffs, Fungi, Fairies and Badass Sandworms! New Content Patch Live!

We released 4 new monsters:

The Carepanda, the fairy swarm, Portobellows and the mighty Wurm.
Alongside these new monsters, we released two new Soul Gear:

Important Note:

In this update, we also fixed tons of bugs in the damage calculation. The order in which the bonuses were calculated was wrong. Instead of summing up, they were added on top of each other. Also, the Intelligence bonus was always meant to be 1% of increased elemental damage per point, but it was accidentally set to 3%.

The result is that units giving intelligence bonuses will be quite weaker. The ultimate result is that it will give more diversity to what constitutes a good build.

Monsters dressed as Wizards, Superheroes, and Ninjas…0.0.20 out now!

We have tons of updates for you in Unreap Commander 0.0.20! Check the list below:

---

Artifacts / Loot Sets

New

The Wizard Set is perfect for monsters dealing elemental damage. The Superhero set is perfect for dealing physical damage and any monster that needs a buff to their max health.

The Ninja set makes your units more nimble.

Updated

The Bullfighter set has had its armour debuff removed.

The Hockey set's bonus has been doubled.

The Elf set's bonus has been quadrupled.

---

Combat UI improvements

Speech bubble

The text in combat is now more readable and won't overlap anymore.

More subtle panels

The previous panels were colourful and intrusive. We changed that.

---

Quality of life improvements

When fusing, souls are now order by amount of exp you'll get from fusing:

You can now search by the Soul's name:

Or choose a filter:

And you can do the same for loot:

And these work across the board (with one exception at the moment).

There's also a new Reapedia view:

You can filter by Soul name in both views:

Minor UI improvements

Nicer top navigation:

Nicer button groups:

---

Tons of UI glitch fixes

There are too many to mention here. But there were tons of tooltips causing issues before. We fixed most of them.

We also fixed the layer ordering of monsters in combat, which showed bigger monsters underneath other monsters when they should have been above.

Unreap Commander 0.0.19 is Out! Balloons, Bushes, Vomit, Statues and Clowns — What a Motley Crew!

Daily Login Bonuses, New Monsters, New Soul Gear, and Tons of Bug Fixes
We wanted to release this new version on Friday, but you know, Halloween parties got in the way. Here’s myself and some buddies at an Halloween party in Medellin, Colombia:

That being said, we’re releasing now, just in time for our biggest sale ever on Steam: 35% off!

What can I expect from 0.0.19?

We aimed to add more multiplayer features but decided instead to focus more on fixing some glaring issues that either had been there for a while, or slipped in some of the recent builds.

Here’s what’s in this build:

Daily Login Bonus

Open the game every day to get a freebie, including the fabled Shamrock soul, legendary loot, and tons of misc. souls! The day resets on the GMT timezone.

5 new monsters

Ratapow

Ratapow is an alternative to other monsters boosting Agility for the rest of the row or when equipped on loot. His main action reduces other monsters’ wind resistance. That ability was removed from Galewyrm and moved to this monster. That was done in an effort to balance the game a little better.

Yoker

Yoker is one of the strongest unit in the game (DPT-wise), dealing Dark damage to a full column. Put him in a row to make every unit regenerate a high amount of health on every hit.

Sundorak

Sundorak is a special monster. When slotted into loot, he increases the monster’s strength, intelligence, vitality and agility by 100! In the row, he boosts every unit’s light resistance by a very large amount (450% at level 200). His main action doesn’t do much damage, but it reduces all of a target’s resistances by 500%! He’s likely the game’s best de-buffer at the moment.

Vomitor

Vomitor deals high earth damage to lots of targets. In loot, it increases earth damage by a substantial amount.

Bushwacker

Bushwacker hides behind his bush and focuses on buffing his allies. Use him in the row or in loot to boost earth resistance. His main action renders earth attacks against your team almost useless.

4 new Soul Gear

Blinded by is the only armor soul gear that boosts light damage. It’s extremely valuable to the Zookas and the new Sundorak. And with a lot of new Light monsters coming up, this is worth the investment of time to level up the Sundorak, Zookas and a Snow Rabbit!

Burning Flash is probably the best soul gear for fire damage dealers. But because the damage is flat and not a bonus, it’s also a good way to add an extra element to any monster’s attack. The burn on turn effect is great for AOE actions. The intelligence boost is good for any elemental action.

Having a hard time against earth-based monsters? Try this soul gear. This almost renders any earth-based attacks worthless against you.

Bug Fixes and Rebalances

  • Fixed bug where you could duplicate souls infinitely
  • Fixed bug where units would act many times in a row. This was mostly seen using the Pirate set.
  • Rebalanced buffer units so that they’re actually useful. A few versions ago, we changed the algorithm for elemental resistances making it so 100% resistance = taking 0.5x damage. 1000% = 0.1x damage. It used to be that 100% = taking 0 damage.
  • Fixed issues with loot or soul inventory being full and breaking the UX. This is mostly a patch at the moment. Basically, if you having 300 loot or souls, you will stop receiving rewards. In a future version, we’ll allow you to manage the inventories so you can keep rewards post-limit.
  • Fixed the Pirate set being over-powered. In addition to the fix mentioned above, we made it so the bonus doesn’t trigger 100% of the time. We put it down to 75%, which is still very useful.
  • Rebalanced the Galewym so it’s not that much more powerful than other monsters.
  • Increased most monsters’ health so they survive a little more.
  • Fixed buffs and debuffs triggering on other monster’s turn. What you’ll noticed is a drop in usefulness of the poison and burn effects, as well as regen effects.
  • Some UI fixes.

What’s coming up in 0.0.20?

0.0.19 is just out, but we’re already working on 0.0.20, one of the last few updates before we finally go in Beta!

The theme for 0.0.20 is: Online Features. We’ll toss in more bug fixes, rebalancing and new monsters into the mix!

Stay tuned!

Don’t miss out the 35% off sale from October 29th to November 5th!

Unreap Commander 0.0.18: New Ways to Reap Souls and Kick Some Ass!

Hey guys, as usual, we had a busy week bringing you some additions and improvements to Soul Reaper: Unreap Commander. Here are the highlights: Read here

What’s the Link Between a Symphony, Tentacles, Trees, the Void and a Fight Club? - Unreap Commander 0.0.16

It’s been a long time coming, but 0.0.16 is finally out! Like the late 0.0.15, the theme of this version is LOOT IMPROVEMENTS. As such, we introduced key features like Artifacts, and added emphasis on Soul Gear and monster stats. We also added 5 new monsters and training options, REAP codes, rebalancing, etc.

Like all previous versions we released, this update is MASSIVE! Check it out. We hope you’ll like the additions and updates!

Unreap Commander 0.0.13 — The Update You’ve Been Waiting For

Unreap Commander 0.0.13 — The Update You’ve Been Waiting For

I’m not joking.

In this update, we’re bringing you the two most requested changes to the game:

1. Soul Reaper: Unreap Commander now supports all resolutions

We went from supporting only the 16:9 aspect ratio to all aspect ratios! This was, by far, the most requested change. We thought this would take us a month to do, but we worked really hard in the past week and managed to make it happen in only one week!

Here’s a screenshot at 5:4 aspect ratio:

I wish I had taken a screenshot before we support it.

We also enabled the default Unity dialogue for choosing the resolution before starting the game, so the choice is yours:

2. Soul Reaper: Unreap Commander has a much more usable User Experience

To start with, you need 3 clicks now to start combat. It used the take 6. Also, you can edit your selected squad directly from the main screen; greatly speeding up the process of equipping loot and powering up your monsters after combat.

Here’s a screenshot:

Also, back buttons have been streamlined and are all in the top-right corner. The navigation at the top of the screen works more like a toggle now, making it so there’s no more overlapping of windows.

3. Soul Reaper: Unreap Commander has nicer UI

As you can see from some of the previous screenshots, we’ve cleaned up part of the UI as well. Going forward, there will be incremental changes in most of the new updates.

What’s Next in 0.0.14?

The theme for 0.0.14 is:

Combat Improvements

  • We’re going to make the row bonuses way more obvious;
  • We’ll allow the player to select a target to start with;
  • We’re going to make it more obvious that you can target specific monsters;
  • We’ll add at least 5 new monsters; and most importantly
  • Levelling your monsters up will unlock new powers for them. For example, a fire based attack may start applying a burn effect when the soul’s level is at level 50. Then it might start hitting multiple targets at level 100. And more.

We’re hoping we can bring these new changes to you by the end of next week. The foundation was put in place from the start to make this happen, so most of the difficulty is cranking up the content for each of the current souls in the game.

Conclusion

So check 0.0.13 out and tell us if it’s working in a resolution that didn’t work for you previously. Also let us know how you like the new UI and UX or if you’re noticing features that are gone that you thought were useful.
