The Titan Hunt - Hotfix 1 & 2

Greetings, Void Hunters!



We have just released Hotfix 2 for Update 16: The Titan Hunt! We have been keeping an eye on your feedback, and have fixed quite a few errors! We had another Hotfix update last night so we thought we would consolidate all of the fixes in these first couple of days in a single announcement!

General fixes and improvements:



  • Considerably reduced health of Titans and overall scaling of first 5 cycles of the Titan Hunt;
  • Considerably reduced damage and increased cooldown of a few Titan abilities, such as Mhyzahet's Tornadoes, Aruanak's Web Shot and other overtuned skills;
  • Fixed an issue with the Kobold Sparkies intro animation, which could cause Vyvolt to be teleported out of the map;
  • Fixed an issue where multiple Shaman achievements were unlocking the incorrect skill;
  • Fixed an issue where Fiery Blades would not be able to hit Tentacles;
  • Fixed an issue where it would be possible to trigger the Kobold Sparkies fight while outside of the boss arena, causing the game to soft-lock;
  • Fixed an issue where the achievement of completing the Ritual of Hate was not possible to complete, making the Demon Hunter impossible to unlock;
  • Made it so bonus events such as Chests and Massive Minerals spawn a bit earlier in the Void Fields;
  • Fixed an issue where in very high levels, skills such as Shadow Spikes might not hit all enemies correctly;
  • Fixed an issue where if you selected the Shaman while it was unlocked, it would show the Barbarian skin doing something weird;
  • Fixed an issue where the Myrmidon's size would be smaller while her ascension was active;
  • Fixed an issue where multiple static skills (like totems) would not show that they benefit from Critical Chance power ups (visual issue only);
  • Addressed an issue where the new Corrupted skins would show a placeholder description, still not the final fix but better than before;
  • Fixed an issue where it was possible to start another task in the Titan Hunt after you had collected all necessary Void Fragments, possibly causing the game to soft-lock;
  • Fixed multiple small issues that would cause a spam of errors in the background, affecting performance (harmless errors);
  • Fixed an issue where some of the new Corrupted skins would not properly show their character's intro animations;
  • Fixed an issue where it would be possible to have a sticky tooltip being fixed on screen permanently while using a controller;
  • Fixed an issue where Living Weapon would not benefit from your runes and possibly cause exceptions leading to weird behaviour;
  • Fixed an issue where Soulstone icons could stay permanently on the minimap, even after they were collected;
  • Replaced Shaman's ascension Spirit Guide model with a new model. Developer note: We sometimes buy assets from asset stores to speed up development. We mostly use these assets as a starting point to create our own models; unfortunately in this case it seems the model we used as base is very similar to a character from another IP. We were not aware of this and are actively working to make the Shaman's ascension more unique, yet still inspired by Quetzalcoatl, the Mayan God, as intended. Today we replaced the model with a new one created on top of Mayan sculptures to be as true as we can to our inspiration, and we are creating new animations as we speak, which will come in our next hotfix update.

Today is a very special day, a huge milestone for Soulstone Survivors! We are releasing the largest update the game has ever seen, along with the full release announcement, key art updates, supporter pack DLC… there is so much to cover, so let’s get started!

Update 16 - The Titan Hunt


Now let’s get to the good stuff, the reason you are here! Today we are releasing the BIGGEST update the game has ever seen, so without further ado lets jump right in! There is so much we want to show you that we decided to make a little update trailer that you can check out below!



New Game Mode: The Titan Hunt!


Your endless search for power and answers leads you to distant lands, in a brutal hunt for the Titans. Their blood is the key, and it’s up to you to take their power and put it to good use!



In this mode you travel through Unstable Portals through different regions of the world in search of the next titan to hunt. Complete a series of challenges, collect Void Fragments and use them to break the Titan’s seal, and prepare for war.



With the seal broken, all that is left is to face the Titans, ancient foes that shaped the very essence of this world! The spoils await for those who rise up to the challenge!



As you eliminate these powerful foes, collect their blood and learn new, build-defining powers, adding hundreds of new synergies that will elevate your Void Hunters to the next level!



This update marks Part 1 of the Titan Hunt, with Part 2 coming with the full release in June 17th, so get ready, for there is still much to find out about the mysteries of the void!

New Void Hunter: The Shaman!


In your search for blood and power, only the wisdom of the Shaman may keep the Void Hunters true to their purpose and protect them from corruption. This whip-wielding warrior uses totems to harness the powers of his ancestors, with a unique playstyle that focuses on high health and static defences to keep the void at bay.

Now you can craft new weapons, unlock unique skills, runes and perform an ancient ritual to call your spirit guides into battle!





New Buff - Ancestry


Along with the Shaman we are introducing Ancestry, a new buff where you can accumulate and spend stacks to summon a powerful totem that harnesses your own life essence, dealing increased damage based on your maximum health!

New Skill Trait - Fortitude


This update also brings the Fortitude skill trait! Units summoned by skills with this trait deal extra damaged based on your maximum health, in a powerful combo of resilience and strength!

New Feature: Minimap Support!


You will also notice a new feature across the game, the Minimap! It comes with information about all sorts of things, from ascensions to minerals to bosses and enemies… it is filled with useful information to help you find your footing!



New Feature: Bonus Challenges


While playing in the Void Fields or the new Titan Hunt you may notice a few new things going on around you… loot chests, huge minerals, or even the sneaky Treasure Bug traveling through the planes… these optional special events can be completed to get some of that sweet sweet loot!



Improved Visuals: Menu and more


As we get closer and closer to the game’s full release, we are bringing even more visual updates to the game! You may notice the menu is a bit… different now… and it all has a reason to be… the answers as to what is going on with the Void Hunters… why are you even hunting titans… it all lies in our next major update, so keep an eye out!

General fixes and improvements:



  • Made small changes to achievements to accomodate the new game mode. Completing the 5 Void Fields maps will now unlock the Unholy Cathedral, and completing the first ritual in the Cathedral unlocks the Titan Hunt. Previous rewards were moved to different achievements;
  • Fixed a possible crashing issue when there were too many units active (such as from tons of summons);
  • Added Rune Tooltips when you hover over a rune, to make it easier to find what you are looking for;
  • Heat Explosion no longer deals extra damage based on your Area of Effect, it now consumes all Burn damage accumulated on the target, dealing 200% of the total damage instantly;
  • Subdue base damage increased from 50 to 100, and damage per stack from 8 to 30;
  • Bombardment, Cluster Bomb and Trickster Decoy now have their negative effects also scaling with the damage multiplier of those skills;
  • Shrapnel Bomb base damage reduced from 375 to 200, and damage per stack reduced from 20 to 4;
  • Chaoswalker’s ascension blessings are now considerably stronger, and may no longer grant you additional movement speed so that movement is still predictable;
  • Reduced the interaction time of Chaoswalker’s ascension considerably;
  • The Chaotic trait now has double the chance to chain into another skill;
  • Adjusted the scroll speed in the Damage Breakdown popup;
  • Chaotic Surge and Krakens Rum no longer count as area skills;
  • Multiple usability fixes on interfaces across the game;


1.0 Price Increase and Special 40% Discount


It’s crazy to look back and see how much the game changed and evolved across Early Access, and we cannot thank you enough for your support along the way. It has been a long road, but one we are extremely proud of and happy to be taking, and with the full release just around the corner, we felt it was the time to adjust the game’s price to reflect all of the new content available in the game.

We have decided to increase the game’s price from $9.99 to $14.99 starting on May 12th, just over two weeks from now, and to give you a chance to get the game at its lowest price it has ever been, we will be participating in the Steam’s Eastern Games Fest and running a special discount of 40% off from April 23rd (in about one hour) to May 2nd! If you were waiting for the right time to get into the fray, that time is now!

Update 15 - Hotfix 3 - Critical bug fix

Hey everyone!

While our next major update is right around the corner, we have identified a critical issue with EA Update 15 - Community Skins and decided to make yet another tiny hotfix update to address this issue sooner rather than later.

We have received some reports that the game can get indefinitely stuck in the initial loading screen. This seems to happen mostly with players in China.

This hotfix changes how the initial game loading works so that we no longer have to wait on some non-essential systems before proceeding to the menu. This should hopefully solve the infinite loading.

Devlog #16 - The Shaman & Skill Tree Secrets

Greetings, Void Hunters!



The whispers of the Void have grown into a roar—Devlog #16 is here, and it’s packed with cool new things! The enigmatic Shaman is right around the corner, alongside some spicy new skill tree news. Let’s get into it!

The Shaman: Master of Totems


The moment you’ve been waiting for is here. The shadowy figure teased in Devlog #15 has stepped into the light, and oh boy, does he bring the storm... and poison... and.. you get the idea... Let’s break down his otherworldly-totemic toolkit!

New Skills: Total Totem Madness


The Shaman’s abilities are all about totems and what they can do to help in the battlefield. We’ve cranked the totem usage this time around and we even have a new trait called: Ancestry which will consume stacks to summon totems for you! We really did go all in on it and it is reaching some ludicrous levels of totemic madness. Behold! As The Shaman summons a variety of them to absolutely decimate the void.

Shaman’s Ascension: From Sketch to Spectacle


As always the Ascension is the second thing we decided after deciding on the character, and we wanted to reinforce the ritualistic nature of the character in his ascension. After many many many hours of discussion, trying to figure out how to be thematic, simple to interact with but different at the same time… this is what we defined:


Doesn't look like much hahaha, but we were excited! We thought “what if the Shaman danced around a ritual pyre to invoke ancestral spirits, maybe even gods… to fight for him?” and at that point we were all convinced! But would it be fun? Only one way to find out! Here’s a rare glimpse at the very first prototype of his ascension, where we experimented with his ritual circle:

This was an very early version focused on the testing of its functionality alone, it required so many spins around the pyre that you might become a Shaman yourself after performing a ritual this long… so we tweaked here and there… made a few new visuals… replaced a thing or two… and…

Behold—the final form.

When the Shaman’s ascension triggers, otherworldly beings come to assist the Shaman. They surge into the battlefield, amplifying his powers into a cataclysmic crescendo. The screen gets filled with these ancient beings and the Shaman becomes a conduit for them. It’s equal parts terrifying and glorious. (And yes, that is indeed a gigantic and ancient fire-bird-god thing.)

Beyond the Shaman: Skill Tree Secrets in the Static


After many iterations to this system we are finally able to see it completed. Here’s a sneak peek—but don’t squint too hard, we’ve blurred the juiciest bits:


New branches, synergies, and mystery nodes await. What’s hidden in the fog and blurriness? You’ll find out… soon.

Closing Thoughts: The Void Grows Hungrier


The Shaman is coming soon, being followed close after by his two… mysterious friends… but this is still just a prelude to something even bigger lurking in the shadows…

Update 15 - Hotfix 2 - Bug fixes and improvements

Hey everyone!

With the release of EA Update 15 - Community Skins, we ended up discovering a few issues that range from small annoyances to possibly game breaking issues. We released a hotfix right after the update fixing part of the more annoying issues (such as weapon achievements not working as intended), and today we are releasing another Hotfix update which deals with the following bugs and issues:


  • Fixed a critical issue where the game might stay on the initial loading screen permanently, being unplayable (if you had this issue and this new update does not solve it for you, please reach out to us at support@gamesmithing.com);
  • Fixed an issue that would cause the initial loading of the game to be a lot longer than it should be, so the game should load up a lot faster now;
  • Added option to Graphics settings to disable HDR, which was causing issues especially on a few Mac devices;
  • Fixed an issue where for new players the Profile screen would possibly not show at all;

Welcome to Devlog #15, where we’re serving up a heaping plate of a spicy surprise! The team’s been hard at work on something ancient, something unseen, something that will tickle your fancy…

The Whisperer of the Void: A New Character Approaches…


Who—or what—lurks in the shadows? We’ve hinted, we’ve teased and in our last update announcement, we showed you these silhouettes:

Many of you have dared to guess on what, or who, these 3 could possibly be…. and maybe we made it too easy, because some of you were spot on on at least one of them!

So as a reward, it’s time to pull back the curtain… and today we are happy to reveal the Void Hunter coming to the game with our next update… the Shaman!

The shaman channels powers older than the Void itself. Cloaked in ancient secrets, controlling the forces of nature itself and armed with a badass whip, this new character will bring a fresh take with a much asked for playstyle to the roster.
