Update Patch v1.2

*Some of these changes were included in an earlier patch but were not documented.

Bug Fixes



  • Successfully defending against an attack while in a system sector with a starbase (or Mothership) will no longer cause the starbase/Mothership to be removed.
  • Convoy escorts no longer wait at edge of map if the freighter has been destroyed.

Additions



  • When very few enemy bases remain, the Mothership will send out construction fleets that establish new bases. These can be used to gain additional resources during late game. The construction fleets appear as a standard fleet in battle.
  • Limited zoom functions added (+ and – keys).

Changes



  • Player can now fire while disabled – with a 50% fire rate and turret turn penalty.
  • Super weapon does more damage and fires for longer.
  • Energize ability is toggled on or off. Has a 15sec cooldown timer between uses.
  • System map rotation arrows now represent the rotation of the system, not the camera.
  • Craft will tilt left and right when making turns (based on turn speed).

Demo Available

A limited turn demo of Space Battlecruiser is now available on Steam. Tell your friends, tell your family, tell the world!

Bug Fixes



  • Auto-completing tutorial mission fixed.
  • Fixed tier bonus not being set at the start of some turns
  • Fixed tutorial bug where game would hang if player was destroyed
  • Player can no longer be destroyed while warping out (resulted in mission not ending)
  • Jittery artillery reticle fixed
  • Minepod not bouncing off some large targets fixed
  • Camera follow mode (F) will always trigger when pressed
  • Convoy mission tally should now report correct outcomes
  • Fixed a freeze/crash related to completing Convoy mission
  • Fixed truncated weapon descriptions in Fitout
  • Asteroid cloud sprites no longer rotate when in follow mode
  • Removed unintended Steam achievements

  • Alt key + ability key will recall fighters and salvagers

  • Tutorial instruction messages now pause gameplay
  • Destroying starbases will diminish enemy surplus resources (amount is based on resource stockpile, number of bases, and base tier)
  • AI has reduced resource capacity
  • Mothership repair and bomber launch abilities consume more resources
  • There is now an upper limit on the number of fleets that can be active during battles
  • Reinforcement timers are longer, with less drastic difference between difficulty
  • Target analysis [TAB] of Assault Cruiser now displays both hull sections
  • Escape can now be used to close Fitout menu
  • Epic game mode shown in system map
  • Game Over message informs about Continue option
  • Main menu Continue option coloured differently
  • Total scrap and components will now remain on screen during mission completion screen
  • Mining facility sections have flashing red lights to help identify what sections remain to be destroyed
  • Minimum requirements reduced to Win7
