Umbrellas could not be dropped by the player when using a non-default control scheme, including XInput gamepads. This was because of an oversight when overhauling the key configuration system in the 3.3.0 update.
macOS version will follow suit soon.
Rollback to 3.3.1
Hi, I'm rolling back the update to 3.3.1 due to some game-breaking errors caused by the project being hastily moved to GMS2. This will also roll back the macOS version to work only on pre-Snow Leopard versions. Sorry for any inconvenience!
I'll hopefully be able to roll out a corrected 3.3.2 within the next few weeks.
macOS Compatibility Fix
macOS version has been recompiled to work correctly on Snow Leopard and newer.
Rebrand to ondydev also reflected in this update.
Version 3.3 Update
Hey everyone, quick update to Space Cat. No huge content update like last time, but some nice quality of life changes that hopefully will make your Space Cat experience a little more comfortable.
v3.3 CHANGELIST
You can now modify keyboard controls in the Help/Controls menu. Gamepads will work the same way they did in previous updates, and override the player slot they are assigned to. Key bindings will also save upon exiting the game.
The splash screen before the game boots up has been removed.
Adventure Mode: Stage 8 has been tweaked to be slightly easier towards the end.
The bonus room present in older versions of the game has been re-added into the game.
There will likely be another update soon to address some other small problems I noticed while working on this quick update. Instead of raising the scope of the update, I opted to finish this patch first.
As always, thank you all for the ongoing support!

Every time you level up, the screen is cleared of hazards.
You start at a higher intensity every time you level up (capping at 5)
You reach higher intensities faster after reaching level 5.
The current level is displayed on the HUD (in different spots depending on the player count)

Space Cat - Original Soundtrack Updated + Minor News Update
Hi, long time no see.
I've updated the Original Soundtrack on Bandcamp to include all of the songs introduced in the update. Sorry for the incredibly long wait. It's been an incredibly busy year.
Check it out here! https://argagonky.bandcamp.com/album/space-cat-original-soundtrack
Minor News Update
I still plan on releasing 2.1 at some point. It won't be a very large update, but it will add a few changes to make the game overall feel a little more complete. After that, I'm going to consider the game finished and cease updates. The remaining arranged songs probably won't be completed until way down the line when I actually have the time to complete them, if that time ever comes.
I have a few other smaller-scale games on the way too, follow me on Twitter (@argagonky) for updates on those.
I still plan on trying to port Space Cat and my future games to Nintendo Switch when I get my hands on Game Maker Studio 2, and I have the time on my hands.
Thanks for reading!
Space Cat - Arranged Soundtrack Released

The Future of Space Cat
Hey everyone. I know it's been a bit dormant here, so I figured now would be an appropriate time to give some sort of update on what's to come.
- THE NEXT UPDATE -
Space Cat has been on the back burner for a while, mostly due to complications in my personal life, but I haven't forgotten about the game, or the people who have supported it. Luckily, I still have more plans for Space Cat.
The game itself still needs refinement. There are things I want to clean up, such as the menus, physics, and Adventure Mode. I'm not going to get into major details quite yet, but there's always going to be work needed to be done on Space Cat.
- PORTS TO OTHER CONSOLES -
I mentioned before that I want to port the game to consoles at some point. Now, I don't have any plans in motion quite yet, but with YoYoGames announcing the release of the Nintendo Switch module for Game Maker Studio 2, I will be looking into that as soon as possible and making it my top priority.
I've stated that the Nintendo Switch is the perfect console for Space Cat, having a strong focus on local multiplayer and portability.
That said, until I get the Switch version out, I don't have any plans to look into other consoles.
- THE SOUNDTRACK -
The current soundtrack (for v1.0) is available at argagonky.bandcamp.com
I plan on adding the rest of the tracks from the update at the same time I release 2.1. This is because there will be new tracks with that update, and likely the last update to include new original music.
As for the arranged soundtrack, I have no news on that. I'm still working on it but it's taken a bit of a back seat to my other projects at the moment. There are quite a few new arrangements coming in 2.1 (including, finally, BGM1) but don't expect the finished arranged soundtrack anytime soon.
- ARGAGONKY -
If you follow my SoundCloud, you may have noticed that I'm working on another game. I don't have a scope of how big the project is going to end up being, but it's been making solid progress and showing a lot of potential, so I don't think going back to Space Cat is going to hurt the project that much.
- CONCLUSION -
So, in summary...
I'm working on 2.1
I'm looking into the Nintendo Switch!
The rest of the soundtrack is coming with 2.1
The arranged soundtrack is still going to take a while.
I have another game coming, details soon.
I think that covers everything. See you all in the next update!
2.0 is here!
After months and months of hard work, Space Cat v2.0 is finally here!
CHANGELIST
-New Content-
Adventure Mode added. Eight sidescrolling stages of wild bullet-hell platforming action and unique bosses at the end of every level. Up to 4-player co-op is available.
Hat Shop and Hat Coins added. Hat Coins are collectables randomly found in every mode in the game, used to purchase hats for your character.
Main menu has been changed into a small hub world with doors accessing each game mode.
There is now an Extras room, allowing you to toggle the screen's border color, and the game's soundtrack mode.
You can now pick between the original soundtrack and the arranged soundtrack. The arranged soundtrack is still a work in progress and only a handful of arranged tracks are available at the time.
-Tweaks and changes to the original game-
Space Cat accelerates and turns around quicker.
Fuel recharges when standing on ground. Fuel tanks are still collectable, but much more situational and serve mostly as a last resort. This is mostly for experimentation and will probably be nerfed in the future.
Many clipping-through-floor bugs have been ironed out.
Oil Cans have replaced ?-Capsules on the options menu. They function the same physically but instead of dispensing items, they explode like bombs. ?-Capsules still show up, just less frequently.
Controls room has been modified to allow default Xinput controls to be turned off.
Many sound doubling glitches have been fixed.
Many umbrella-related glitches have been fixed.
Jet boost now has a proper speed cap, and does not glitch on ice blocks anymore.
