Greetings Space Realtors!

We have survived the launch of our game, and it's now time to talk a bit about the future and present some of our plans to the community.

Living Roadmap


During Early Access, we will be very open about the development of our game, what we are working on, and will be working on in the future. We will keep what we call a living road map public and updated. This will convey the upcoming milestones and updates that we have planned, covering roughly 2-3 months of future development time.





Beyond this, we will, naturally, always be looking into bugfixes and general improvements to the game.

For those interested in seeing behind-the-scenes-material and upcoming changes, we highly encourage that you join our discord and check out the dev channel. We will be posting more details there in the future, including sneak peeks on upcoming changes, and at times we may ask for direct feedback from those active in our channels.

Hotfix Deployed

We have just deployed our first hotfix for the game! This should resolve some of the issues we received reports of during these first couple of days in the wild, along with some minor improvements and adjustments.


Improvements:



  • Added the option to manually switch which audio device the game should be using.
  • Made Ashbushel trees more likely to spawn in the starting region.
  • Added a clarification on the codex page of World Features that cannot be improved with a building.
  • Added a link in the main menu to the feedback survey.
  • Changed the default keybind of Inventory to "I" instead of "B".
  • Changed the timing of some UI pop ups.
  • Updated some texts and requirement descriptions related to the S.I.T. project for clarity.
  • Numerous and minor text adjustments.

Squashed bugs:



  • A multiplayer user could lose the ability to drop samples from their inventory.
  • The Hot Spring sometimes didn't spawn in the first region while the Australic modifier was enabled.
  • Keybind icons could disappear while playing the game with language set to Russian.
  • The Fancy Wrench, unlocked with the Supporter Pack, did not appear properly ingame.
  • A few more quirks and issues of low severity


We really appreciate all the feedback and bug-reports that you have sent in so far - we've got the whole team fired up, working on future fixes and improvements! :)

Early Access Release imminent!

Today’s the day—our little baby known as Space for Sale is taking its first step into the wide world!

It has been years in the making, and the whole team at Mirage is going through a lovely mix of emotions leading up to this. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we loved making it, and hopefully we will get many people joining us as we set out on this Early Access trail of development.
Before we push the big red release button later today, I would like to take the opportunity and detail what the game is, what you can expect, and give a few words on our short-term plans.


How much content is in the release version?


The core gameplay is complete, and at launch we'll kick things off with our initial selection of content set in one continent on the lush planet Autica.

In short and practical terms:

  • One randomized continent on the Green planet, called “Autica”
  • Five distinct biomes and environment types
  • Four types of alien clients, each with unique assets and needs
  • One special client project, involving multiple steps, research projects, and construction sites to complete.
  • Two special events (think something akin to “side quests”)
  • Six intelligent animals (excluding critters and decorative creatures)
  • A bunch of tools, suits and gadgets to play around with
  • Replayability through various scenario settings and modifiers

Taking a single planet from prospect to sold takes approximately 7 hours, depending on your experience and chosen settings.

What’s the price? Any extra stuff or special editions?


The game will be sold at 19.99$, with a release discount of 20%.

We also have a soundtrack, made by our inhouse musician and sound-wizard Joakim Karlberg.

We've also created something we dubbed as The Supporter Pack. To clarify, this pack doesn't offer any in-game value or gameplay advantages—it's simply a way for those who appreciate our work to further support the project beyond purchasing the core product.

What’s next?


During this first week we will be monitoring the situation and make sure everything is running as smoothly as possible.
Upon and following the release, our main priority will be to improve the core gameplay experience. At the same time, we'll be creating new content and rolling out updates that include new planets, in-game events, projects, and more.

Demo Localization update

By popular demand, we have now made the Space for Sale demo available in the following ten languages:

  • Chinese (Simplified & Traditional)
  • French
  • German
  • Indonesian
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Brazilian Portuguese
  • Russian
  • Spanish

For all our gamepad users out there without a keyboard, we have also implemented a virtual keyboard that should pop up as soon when you try to edit some kind of text field. Please note that this requires the game to run in Big Picture mode.

We hope to see even more of you join in the fun and test the game leading up to the Early Access release.

Vienna, Austria / Karlstad, Sweden - July 9th, 2024: T-21 days, Ladies and Gentlemen! Fifty-five years ago, in July 1969, mankind took its first steps on the moon, ending the race to space. Described as "a small step for a man, a giant leap for mankind", this historic event marked the beginning of a new era. On July 30th, 2024, our cozy space simulation game, Space for Sale, will launch into early access orbit on Steam, inviting players from all galaxies to join the fun. We shall let future generations decide if this day also marks a historic event of similar magnitude for all mankind.

Space for Sale offers an immersive experience of exploring exotic alien planets, constructing charming habitats for a demanding interplanetary clientele, and learning about each planet's unique flora and fauna to better adapt to it.

Streamline your efforts (work smarter, not harder!), synchronize your gear to complement one another, and set your sights on a shared cosmic objective.

In addition to its single-player mode, Space for Sale offers an outstanding online co-op experience for two players, enabling you and a companion to seamlessly drop in and out of the game. Only the host's world will retain the progress, and only the host can save the game, though both players have access to the same elements and will earn achievements together. If you start a new world, you start from the beginning.
