  2. We added a version check message which will come up if your client is out of date (and needs to be updated) – NOTE you won’t be able to play online until you update if you see this message
  3. Auto detect for server region improved (this should work consistently when set on Auto now)

Repair and Practice Robots

  • Single player and Face To Face robots have managed to order themselves a broader choice of wardrobe

ONE WEEK TO LAUNCH

With the imminent launch of Spaceteam VR we put together this guide to help explain the many different ways you can enjoy the game.

As it is a game about cooperation and teamwork we've tried to make it as easy as possible to play across many different platforms.

This guide book takes you through the basics.

POSSIBLE PLAY CONFIGURATIONS

1) ONLINE

With up to 6 players on multiple types of VR headsets connected to the internet from anywhere in the galaxy.

Play with anyone online or host a game (there is an option to make private games) and send your friends the game code.

2) IN PERSON

With at least one VR headset and any combination of up to 5 other smart devices and headsets in the same room using the Face To Face mode.

Considering social distance it is possible to play this mode using a group chat app such as Discord, Skype or Zoom.

3) ALONE

And finally, if you're alone, it is also possible to play in the "practice" mode and hone those button-pushing skills with two of the robots on your team.

Spaceteam VR Launching 21st May 2020

If you've not heard of us before Spaceteam VR is an immersive cooperative shouting game, a ‘shout-em-up’ if you will. Teams of up to six players work together communicating increasingly complex and baffling technobabble filled instructions to keep their ship hurtling through space. The game is played under the constant threat of annihilation from a supernova, asteroids, slime, Aliens, power surges and an eccentric ageing space ship. The best way to deal with the chaos is to lean into it and work together with your fellow space cadets to figure out how to get through as many sectors as you can.

COULD YOU BE A BETA TESTER?

If you would like to get an early sneak peek at the game and are able to help us out with some BETA Testing then head over to our Discord and sign up.

STAY HOME STAY SAFE

As well as playing remotely with other headsets online there is a local ‘face to face’ mode that will enable people sharing the same space to play with up to 6 mobile devices and headsets. So, with the continuing incredibly wise advice to stay home and keep your distance from others this is a great game to play online with friends. however, it might be a good idea to warn your neighbours that there will be shouting but you’re OK, you’re working together with friends as a Spaceteam!

Play in VR and Non-VR

We want Spaceteam VR to be one of the most cross-playable titles on the market and in order to achieve that it will be playable beyond the confines of your VR headset.

Not only is the game going to be playable online on up to six headsets across all the popular manufacturers, but you’ll be able to play locally with people on their smartphones or tablets as well as multiple VR headsets. Players can take it in turns to experience the VR version while still co-operating and shouting technobabble at each other!

Omegathon Final!

We also wanted to tell you about our incredibly successful trip to the glorious PAX East in Boston where over 500 guests got to grips with the game. This is the first time we’ve shown the game to an American audience and the reception was so great, people are really hyped to see the game as a VR version.

We featured on the main stage in the final of the infamous ‘OMEGATHON’ in front of a large audience and 25.8k viewers on the PAX Twitter account.

We are sad that we're not able to bring the game to SXSW as planned but we have our fingers crossed for EGX Rezzed in a few weeks - watch this space for the latest news!

Welcome Space Cadets!

Spaceteam VR is coming soon, we're busy setting up and developing and testing. In order to get this here page going we wanted to share the video we made at EGX recently.

We tested the game over four days and got loads of really useful feedback. We are very grateful to all our initial testers.
