While we have nothing to do with Halloween, we love it as individuals. Spartaga will be on sale for 25% off for the duration of the Halloween sale.
In addition, we've just released a new patch to address some small issues.
* Reworded some descriptions and instructions.
* Minor tutorial improvements
* Fixed bug where some new players would experience everything rotated to be behind them on first boot.
* Player name now highlights on leaderboards again properly
* Fixed a couple other small obscure bugs.
As far as we know, we are again bug free at the moment, so please feel free to let us know if you see anything!
Spartaga @ GE2.LIVE
One more!
We're heading out to another show this weekend. October 21-22, 2017 at CenturyLink Field Event Center in Seattle WA.
Our gracious hosts have selected us to run a tournament. I can't comment on prizes or what the exact format will be, but I can say that you need to get some playing in on Sunday at our booth to qualify for the finals.
The finals will take place on the GE2 Tech Stage from 5:50pm to 6:50pm. Practice up!

1.02 includes a few bug fixes, minor tuning, a UI update, and a timing update in one of the final levels that was making the game too easy (believe it or not).
Thanks everyone for playing! We've been getting some great feedback.

Gamasutra Article on Spartaga Design
We wrote a pretty hefty article for Gamasutra, as part of their Design Deep Dive series.
You may find it interesting if you're enjoying the game. Take a look!
We've been made an Official Selection, of the Seattle Indies eXpo!
SIX runs concurrently with PAX West, in September. This will be our first show for Spartaga, so we're super excited and thankful for the opportunity. Hope to see you there! You can find more info here.

We've partnered with Carbon Based Lifeforms!
Carbon Based Lifeforms
Today, we're proud to announce a collaboration with Carbon Based Lifeforms! They are one of the world's most popular ambient electronica artists, and just announced a new album Derelicts this week. Now, in addition to the regular soundtrack of a more traditional retro arcade feel, you'll be able to enter Carbon Mode, featuring a large number of CBL tracks and a more atmospheric, galaxy like environment.
Many programmers we know, including ourselves, use CBL or other similar bands to 'get into the flow' when coding. It's great for concentrating on complex tasks, and we ended up listening to it while playtesting the game just because it was already coming out of our speakers. We reached out and this is the result. Combat in Spartaga can reach a point where it helps to relax and just read the flow instead of staring at individual bullets coming at your starfighter. CBL's music can be great for that =).
This is what CBL had to say-
"We grew up in the 8-bit era with arcade games, Commodore and Nintendo and being long time Scfi-fi fans we couldn't say "GO!" fast enough when House of How approached us about including our music in their upcoming game "Spartaga". We're really happy that the team wanted our music, and on top of that we get our very own Carbon mode button!"
