This is a serious situation.



While transferring data, the hard drive crashed and all data files were corrupted.
I focused on recovery work for two weeks, but there was no significant result.
Development data, as well as backup files and existing data are all damaged, so other measures are needed.

Fortunately, I have in-game sprites, CGs, and update files from previous versions on another drive.
I plan to use these to continue development.

As a gamer like you, I think you must have been very disappointed with this news.
This accident is all my fault.

i`m really sorry to disappoint you again.

But, I haven't given up yet.
After the accident, I even thought about giving up the game and development.
I decided not to give up to keep my promise to you.
Just one more time, please trust me

There are three options.

[1. Complete recovery of development environment succeeded]



So far, after two weeks of hard work, I've succeeded in separating the code and assets from the existing files.
How to disassemble the rest of the files is still under research.

If all files are successfully disassembled, i can rebuild the development environment within 2-3 months and continue updating again.

[2. Update using mod]



If the first method fails, there is a way to create a mod and overwrite the game files.

The method using mods is very difficult to modify the details of the game.
But, There will be no problem with updating the content regularly.

Mod development is a field I am completely unfamiliar with, so I am researching it.

[3. If this happens... it's all over.]



It's the worst case, when all means and methods don't work.
I don't want to think about this...

In this case, I would give up Spearhead and start developing other projects right away.
I cannot betray those who believed in and waited for Spearhead.
As promised, i will provide wallpapers and paper models periodically.
Also, you are free to use all the code and sprite data contained within the game files.
You may modify the code and sprites, use them commercially.
It's all yours.

Other projects will be open to you free of charge during development.
When development is complete, the game will be changed to a paid game.
The game will be provided for free to applicants who purchase the Spearhead Paper Pack.

■ Can't you develop a new one?

The whole development environment is gone, so I don't know how many years it will take to develop a new one...
The current situation is depressing me... It's only my fault.

■ Can't just release the arcade mode as a separate game?

In addition to the problems mentioned above, there is one more problem.
In Korea, in order to sell a game, it must be reviewed by a game management institution.
It can be uploaded to Steam only after the review is completed by the management institution.
The biggest problem is that the cost of applying for a review is very expensive.
If i release it as a completely free game without earning any revenue, can skip the review.
However, Spearhead's arcade mode is already related to the main game, so it seems that it will not be able to avoid review.

During the month of December, a series of unfortunate incidents occurred.

The computer I was using for development is broken.
Fortunately, a friend donated his computer to me. It's a bit old, but better than nothing.
It seems like it will take a long time to move the data to another computer.
The boiler in the house is out of order. There was an uproar.
My eyes are getting weird. I'm going back and forth to the hospital for an overhaul.
is almost done, but it still has a critical bug
And I've been infected with Corona again...

What a horrible life...

For this reason, i have to postpone the update to January.

For those of you who are disappointed, I would like to inform you of some Q&A and future plans.
And some extra rewards.

So what's the plan?



1. The description of the game in the steam store will be changed.

I will change the game description to be more intuitive. more detail.

New images will be added, and some images already uploaded will be changed.
Arcade mode and main story descriptions will be added.

2. Spearhead's timeline is now split into two.

The 'Main Timeline' is a world in where classified organization have been successfully created and remain stable.
The 'Arcade Timeline' is a world where classified organization never existed and humanity's efforts have failed.

There is absolutely no connection between the two timelines.

The stories in 'Main Timeline' are very serious.
The background of 'Arcade Timeline' is dark, but the story will be bright.

In both timelines, stories worthy of the game's title will be added.

3. Support for Spearhead will continue until 2024.

I will support until 2024 to provide more experiences to users who enjoy Spearhead.
At the same time, i plan to develop other projects in parallel with the update.
Support for Spearhead may not end even in 2024. may be extended.

By the way, what is the difference between 'until' and 'through'? English is still difficult.

4. From January next year, i will give you a wallpaper every month.

Wallpapers featuring the characters of Spearhead are given every month.

If there is a theme you want, please let me know.



5. The story of the 'Main Timeline' isn't over yet.

Spearhead's backstory and story don't quite fit the Bullet Hell style.
It's a very dark, somber, serious atmosphere. (Not an arcade)
However, i will try to present as many stories as possible with different techniques and in a suitable way.

○ Loadout, weapon customization, additional weapons...etc

This feature will be implemented in Arcade Raid mode.
In the 'main timeline', it will be implemented in some missions to be added later.

○ Anything other than defense?

I`m planning various modes to provide a more diverse experience.
Sniper missions in embassies, VIP escorts in quarantine zones, counter-terrorism operations in large hospitals
I`m planning missions that require tactical movement.

○ Are there any characters from other countries?

Of course there is.

Mexico's 'Fantasma', France's 'Weaver', Indonesia's 'Bentik', USA's 'Catcher', etc...
If possible, I would like to add agents from multiple countries to the story without overlapping.

To start with the conclusion, it is difficult to implement with the 'Spearhead' build.
That doesn't mean it's impossible. I mean it's difficult.
It wasn't built with multiplayer in mind, so even if i start developing right now,
i can't guarantee how long it will take.
I`ll consider this request once the game enters the stabilization phase.

After the next update, the roadmap will change.
To be precise, the roadmap until the last quarter of 2023 will be determined.
There are no changes to the roadmap already posted.

Arcade Mode





is an arcade mode with added survival.

Collect scrap and food during the day.
heavy rain, scorching heat. The fickle climate will haunt the player.

At night, enemies come to your house.
Build and deploy traps using the scrap metal you have collected.

SPEARHEAD 1.11 updated

Hello, Commander!

As I said last time, this update is all about balance and bug fixes.
And, added an arcade mode scoreboard and some features.
Let's go straight to the point!



What's changed?



[BASICS]

- Aiming point color change function has been added.
You can set the color in OPTION.



- Some mistranslations and typos have been corrected.

- Fixed 'Report Delegation' not working for some players.

- In the dialogue window, changed the word 'skip' to 'next'.
because i thought it might confuse some players.

[ STORY ]

- In the El Muro(Morte) stage, an invisible object has been fixed in the way blocking the way.
Fixed an issue with invisible objects blocking the way.

[ ARCADE MOD ]

- Added 2 achievements of Arcade Mode.

- Added object shadows.

- The animation that is output when an effect is selected has been changed in a different way.
When you hover the mouse pointer over the icon, the color of the icon is slightly darkened.

- Added personal scoreboard.
The highest scores are recorded up to 3rd place.
If you die during the game, your score will not be recorded.



- Fixed the collision area of some objects.

- Fixed so that negative effects do not overlap.
There was a problem that the same effect appeared one after another, and the same negative effect appeared in the options.

- The 'Gambit' effect has been corrected.
Now, at least one of the three zones will be changed.

- The 'Play again' button has been removed.
There was a problem where the effects granted in the previous game were not initialized properly.
Also, as the 'Scoreboard' was added, there was a problem with the 'Play again' button, so it was removed.

- Reduced the heat value of the 'Overclock' effect.

- Doubled the duration of the smoke screen for 'I can't see' effect.



- Increased the bullet spread of the 'Excessive recoil' effect.

- Increased the movement speed of the 'Once upon a time in Africa' effect.

- The Jammer's interference effect has been changed to be the same as the Mute stage.
Now, when disturbed by jammers, it will dim around the screen.

- The aiming point code in arcade mode is different from the previously used code,
so i can't add the selectable reticles and the reticle spread function.

- I`m still working on the issue of intermittent stuttering in the game.
This issue existed before Arcade Mode.
Some code has been modified to reduce the stuttering frequency, but it is still not completely resolved.

Known issues!



- If you play the game for a long time, the game will lag.
Turn off the game and turn it back on. Then the problem will be solved.

- In Arcade mode, There is an issue with enemies piercing through some objects.

- In Arcade mod, The reticle doesn`t spread.

- In Arcade mod, the shape of the reticle doesn`t change.

- In Arcade mod, When multiple sounds are output at the same time, no sound is heard for a short period of time.

Arcade mode allows players to choose an effect before each wave starts.
