We added a "new" item, which is the Single Crate. It's basically a nerfed version of the Triple Crate item, which should be useful in Tournaments.
You can now select which items you'd like to appear in the Game Options tab in the level select menu. There's a couple of presets as well (default, ranked and tournament).
Aside from this, there aren't a lot of big changes in this one. We have, however, fixed some annoying issues related to workshop maps and we've improved the performance of the game some more.
Finally, we've updated the soundtrack - the music is now played by actual instruments, which sounds pretty awesome!

Meet The Pros - DistinctMadness
Another week, another SpeedRunners pro interview. Last time we talked to Decard Cain -- this week it's all about DistinctMadness, a SpeedRunners player who has seen plenty of ESL action over the months.
I saw some videos on YouTube and was like, "Hey that's cool."
Didn't buy it for a while though, due to lack of funds. After Christmas that year, without informing those who would be paying, I bought the game and have been hooked ever since.
How long have you been playing the game?
Since December 30th, 2013
Are there any other SpeedRunners players who you class as your rivals?
As of now it'd be hard to say who is a rival, but the name that comes to mind is Unreal.
How would you class your playing style?
Either stay just barely in the lead until you can win, or chill in the back and let the other players knock each other out
How do you prepare for SpeedRunners tournaments?
I start warming up at least an hour early, while wearing a hoodie with the hood up. I also play specific maps that I believe will be picked more than others. Its all about the predictions.
What's your advice for other players looking to go pro at SpeedRunners?
Whenever you run into somebody who is beating you in a game, instead of leaving because you can't win, keep playing until you start beating that player, no matter how long it takes. If you have to leave, try to add the person to play with later. Rage quitting gets you nowhere.

Update r48 - bugfixes!
We've focused our attention these last two weeks on fixin' bugs and polishing the game.
The result is r48, available now, which fixes a lot of minor issues that have been lingering for too long. For instance, respawning is a lot better now; there should be no more mid-air or on-slope respawns that lead to cheap kills. The fireball code has also been re-written, which should make it behave a lot more consistent.
We've also taken a look at performance. If you were having issues with the framerate before, it should hopefully run a bit smoother. You can now also set the graphics quality to 'low' in the options menu. This should have a noticable effect in "problem maps" Metro, Library, Warehouse, Factory and Plaza, as well as when rendering boost trails. Please let us know if this setting increases your framerate!
Finally, we've made another attempt at fixing the mid-game join lag. Let us know if it still happens after this update! It's very difficult for us to reproduce it, so any help in testing is appreciated.
That's it for now! We hope you'll enjoy these updates and feel free to read the full changelog here:

Meet The Pros - Decard Cain
Our next Meet the Pros interview following Tater's turn is Decard Cain, a SpeedRunners pro favorite to a good portion of the SpeedRunners fanbase.
Favourite SpeedRunners character: Black SpeedRunner
Favourite map: Library and Casino in official maps, Dash the Night in Workshop maps
Favourite item: Boxes
How did you get into SpeedRunners?
I saw my big brother playing SpeedRunners, and I liked the look of the game. So he bought it for me!
How long have you been playing the game?
Since update r32, so around 14 months.
Are there any other SpeedRunners players who you class as your rivals?
Yes there is.Everyone is racing each other to be speediest player in the world. This game is like Game of Thrones right now *cough cough*
How would you class your playing style?
My play style depends on my opponent. If he/she plays dirty, I will too. If he doesn't use items, I don't either. But generally I'm doing cool stuff even if I'm going to lose.
After I got to Diamond League, I stopped caring so much about points, or about losing and winning. Right now I care more about item timings, like not using items directly when I get an item.
How do you prepare for SpeedRunners tournaments?
I preparing for SpeedRunners tournaments by practising my weakest played maps in single player mode. Then I go practice them in ranked or quick.
What's your advice for other players looking to go pro at SpeedRunners?
If you join a ranked game with a player who is a league above you, don't quit. Just watch them carefully, and try to apply their tactics afterwards in singleplayer mode.

Favourite map: It changes frequently, right now I’d say Genetics / Oasis
Favourite item: The Bomb
How did you get into SpeedRunners?
I found the game through Coestar’s YouTube channel, playing with Pauseunpause and AvidyaZEN, seeing them play is what made me buy it.
But what really got me hooked was when I played for myself. I joined a little after ranked was added, when I first got to Expert / Bronze league I was matched against my first Silver league (highest league at the time) and was surprised / impressed by how much faster / better I could get.
So I kept playing. Once I was the first player to Gold league I decided to record some gameplay, that’s what has kept me interested so far.
How long have you been playing the game?
Since 26th April 2014
Are there any other SpeedRunners players who you class as your rivals?
Where do I start? Let’s just say "everyone" except We Live (Am I Confused?)
How would you class your playing style?
Asinine / Fatuous
How do you prepare for SpeedRunners tournaments?
I don’t really, now and again I’ll do a quick sacrificial ritual
What's your advice for other players looking to go pro at SpeedRunners?
My best advice is probably to just play for entertainment, not for points or whatever

Meet The Pros - PurpleTurkey
Hi everyone! Our own resident ex-journalist Mike Rose had an itch to chat with a bunch of you beautiful pro-SpeedRunners. The chats became so interesting that we decided to make a series of articles -- "SpeedRunners Meet The Pros".
Who better to start off with other than the King Himself?
The game first caught my eye near the beginning of its release. It seemed like something right up my alley, but I didn't end up buying it (big mistake). A couple months passed and I stumbled upon the game again on Steam. I had completely forgotten about it, so I mentioned it to a couple of friends and we all ended up buying it.
I remember the first time my friends and I played SpeedRunners laughing hysterically, screaming into our mics. After a week or so my friends started to play less, but not me. I couldn't stop playing. I just wanted to get faster, so I went to ranked.
How long have you been playing the game?
I've been playing since Aug 10th 2014
Are there any other SpeedRunners players who you class as your rivals?
Not as of right now, I have beaten all of my rivals at the King of Speed event
How would you class your playing style?
My play style is being able to adapt to any situation
How do you prepare for SpeedRunners tournaments?
I begin warming up an hour before go time and be sure to have hand warmers ready
What's your advice for other players looking to go pro at SpeedRunners?
Explore the game for its secrets, and don't be predictable
