Hi everyone, here are the Patch 2.3 notes for Spellbearers.

Patch Notes
Steam Cloud support has been enabled for Spellbearers. Cloud saving will now activate when the game has closed. Please note that any saved progress and the in-game achievement tracker from Version 1.0 and 1.1 is incompatible with this new build and any current progress will be deleted upon updating. Previously earned Steam achievements are not affected. This was due to a change in the save file structure. We apologize for any inconvenience, and request to finish any current playthroughs before updating.
Mouse Support has been added, and you can now left-click to select options, characters, and shoot missiles. Please note that Mouse Support is only for Player 1. Player 2 must use a gamepad or compatible controller. The mouse can be turned off from Keyboard Settings in Options.
Minor optimizations have been made to "The Minansi" boss.

Hey everyone! Hey everyone! Patch 1.1 is now live, and we have implemented the following changes. For those who would like to continue playing Spellbearers on the original launch normal difficulty, please opt-in to the "old normal" beta branch on Steam settings.

* In all modes/difficulties, immunities for enemies have been removed and changed to be highly resistant instead.
* In all modes/difficulties, the ice physics in the "Icy Realm of Pagosia" has been changed. * "Easy" mode has been renamed to "Practice" mode. * Achievement text color has been changed to white. * Added "Achievements and "Options" to the top of the respective screens. * The Achievements window has been clarified to say that Achievements cannot be earned in Practice Mode.

* Players that begin a new game on Hard Mode will start with 10 lives instead of 5. * Please note that aside from the changes to immunities, the new changes in Normal mode are not applied to Hard mode.

* Players that begin a new game on will now start with 15 lives. * An invincibility window has been added for monsters that do not spawn from a doorway. * The warning/despawn rate of spells has been lengthened. * The health of certain enemies has been reduced.

* An issue where the default movement configuration was set to arrow keys has been addressed. This can be modified in the Configuration settings. * Minor text and phrases have been fixed. * An issue where the player selection screen would change colors when a spell was collected has been addressed.

* There is currently an issue if keys are rebinded from the main menu where it looks like the settings are reset when the player accesses Options again in-game. We are currently looking at a fix for this.

We’ve launched Spellbearers on Steam! We’re extremely thankful for all the individuals that supported us throughout the whole development process of the game, our Kickstarter, and our social community! We hope you all enjoy Spellbearers as much as we did developing it with huge inspirations from 90s SNES games like Super Smash TV, The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past, and even Castlevania!
Although this game can be played in single-player mode, we want to emphasize the Co-op mode to give you that true nostalgia of playing games side-by-side with a friend or family member!

Spellbearers
is a top-down, 2D, twin-stick shooter inspired by "Super Smash TV". Battle against hordes of magical enemies to liberate the rulers of three kingdoms that have been overtaken by dark forces. With staff in hand, do you have what it takes to uphold the title of The Spellbearer?
STORY
Darkness sweeps over the mythical world of Spellbourne, out of which emerge beasts and monsters that were said to have long been banished. An evil force has brought them back and must be stopped. This darkness has invaded the three ruling kingdoms of Spellbourne, their rulers overtaken and transformed into hideous and destructive monsters. If there is to be any hope in defeating this evil, all three kingdoms must be saved by restoring the rulers back to their original forms.
Amid the ensuing chaos, Four legendary heroes arise to take up the call. Destined to forever shoulder the burdens of magic, they are known only as the Spellbearers.

Spellbearers June/July 2022 Updates
Hi all! Producer Grover here, I have some additional updates for Spellbearers in this summer update!
We have a Steam Release Date! (Also updated Timelines)
October 7th, 2022 on Steam - Save the date!
Last week, Gerren and I finished taking all of the footage for the upcoming release trailer and up until this date, we will be working on polishing and testing various aspects of the game and Jessica is working on the final trailer to be shown later this summer.
Here is an updated timeline on where we stand:
Late July 2022: Soft launch / Initial "Beta Test" release on itch.io platform (itch.io codes will be provided to backers on the Early Bird Tier/"The Game" and above.) - This will include an updated Level 1 free demo on itch.io and Steam to gather feedback on the normal difficulty. Achievements will be disabled.
October 7, 2022: Initial release on Steam/Steam Deck addressing feedback and patches from itch.io release. We also plan on reaching out to curators and having a new trailer around this period. (Steam codes will be provided to backers on the Early Bird Tier/"The Game" and above.). The ability to receive achievements will be enabled on this date.
Late 2022-Early 2023: Initial release on Xbox platforms/Xbox/Microsoft Store
2023/Future: Focusing on PlayStation versions
TBA: Research other possible platforms for Spellbearers release
Implementing Changes to the Player HUD and Changes to Bosses:
In the last development log, we mentioned how some information was difficult to understand for the players. What did the diamonds mean near the characters? In the last development update, I shared a mockup by Jessica on how the new UI would be implemented. I would like to share the final HUD that will be presented in-game! See below:
We'll be moving forward with using chevrons for speed boost buffs. And as you can see in the second screenshot, we've made the decision to implement a Health Bar for all bosses. The boss health bar will only be visible in Easy and Normal modes of Spellbearers, so players looking for an additional challenge will have to deal with the bosses without any help! Good luck!
