Parkour Map Design Contest
So we heard you liked our map editor, eh?
To celebrate the recent release of OUR PARK Update, we are launching yet another Community Contest! Exciting, isn’t it?!
Parkour Map Design Contest
Design your very own parkour map using the in-game map editor, and get a chance to win one of the tinyBuild’s games (You get to pick which one!) and have your map featured in the game as part of the official parkour mode.
How to participate?
Create your parkour map using the in-game map editor.
Upload your map to Steam Workshop.
Post the link, screenshot and a short description of your map to the Discord forum #Custom-Heck, and add the ‘Parkour Contest’ tag to your post.
???
Profit!
How do we choose the winners?
Neverjam and tinyBuild will choose from the most upvoted submissions and create a shortlist of contestants. SpiderHeck community will vote for their favorite maps to determine three winners. So please vote by reacting with the emoji for the maps you like the most, and let the creativity win!
How much time do I have?
Parkour Map Design Contest runs from April 17th until April 23rd. You can submit your design by 23:59 GMT, April 23rd. Our team will then close the contest and will work on evaluating all the submissions. Please keep an eye on the Discord announcement channel for more details and news about the contest and final votes.
Any other rules?
Yes.
Try not to overwhelm your map with hundreds of different objects. Remember that your map might be added to all platforms where SpiderHeck is available. Yes, even the Switch… which means performance matters!
Do not overcomplicate your map, making it painfully close to impossible to complete. Think of both worlds’ controls: mouse+keyboard and controllers.
Do not create any NSFW or profanity objects/designs. Our moderation team will delete such maps, and you will be disqualified from the competition.
Contestants can submit as many maps as they want.
One map equals one submission.
Please do not submit multiple copies of one map. The moderation team will delete duplicates.
Have fun!
OUR PARK Update is out now!
Heya!
The long-awaited ‘OUR PARK’ Update is finally here!
Check out the new trailer
Parkour Mode & Map Editor
Welcome to a new game mode that will make you suffer in which you will experience the full range of incredible emotions!
Master the parkour course by completing all 18 maps explicitly designed to make you feel pain and satisfaction simultaneously, with even more maps to be added in the future! Beat the creator's time and set records for your friends to take on!
You can also create your own maps and share them with the community using Steam Workshop. Experiment with different blocks, objects and even physics and gravitation to create your masterpiece maps. Or, if you are up for the challenge - check out the pool of community-created maps and try your luck!
New weapons and customization options
We've also added new weapons to the game that will allow you to annihilate your enemies even more effectively. Or fall victim to your own shots, lol.
Auto Shotgun
Gravity Saw
Gravity Grenade
Don't forget to try on the new hats you get for completing the parkour maps. Just look at these high-fashion items!
EULA Addition
Our lawyers have urged us to add a EULA to the game (especially since players can now create their own content) and tell you about it in an upcoming post. So there you have it, we told you about it.
The complete list of changes
We have, of course, made a few bug fixes and improvements to the game, so check out the complete list of changes below.
Added new Parkour island with solo parkour challenges!
Added three new customization items (Fox, Winner and Diamond) that can be unlocked by beating the parkour challenges.
Added the Parkour Map Editor with Steam Workshop integration.
Added three new weapons: Auto Shotgun, Gravity Saw and Gravity Grenade.
Hecksaw has been modified! Its effectiveness as a melee weapon has been reduced: in some circumstances, it will launch automatically if used in melee. To offset this, it has gained targeting lasers for easier use as a projectile weapon.
Death by disintegration has become more instant.
Reduced max cooldown on web usage.
Fixed a bug that caused some players to load randomly into the Tiers of Heck mode.
Fixed a bug that could cause the camera to be more zoomed out in multiplayer matches.
[April Fool's Day] Introducing the Arachnophobia Mode
Hello friends!
If, for whatever reason, you still find time to pay attention to what your spider looks like in the heat of battle, then we have some great news! Today we are bringing you a new way to play SpiderHeck - Arachnophobia Mode!
What the heck
Yes. You can choose from a few different options that suit you best. Fully transform your spider into something completely different, add your own face and more! Let us show you!
‘SpiderSnek’ or ‘the more you know’ paragraph
Originally, we wanted to go with butterflies and all. Still, it turns out there’s a Lepidopterophobia, so we would end up in a situation where we would have to develop another phobia mode, so we scraped this idea.
Not quite a spider
Alternatively, you can upload your own photo (Terms and Conditions apply. Read the 187-page end-user licence agreement) and literally be in the game! We know it's not exactly a full-fledged replacement for our cutest little spiders, but we do want to give you a choice!
IF NOTHING ELSE WORKS
If you still can't play SpiderHeck with your eyes open, this option is definitely for you! Simply disable the legs display and turn your spider into a ping-pong ball.
And if that is still not enough… FEAR NOT - NOW YOU WON'T SEE ANYTHING.
Completely turn off the spider models so nothing will distract you from the intense gameplay. Just remember to wear a hat so you'll at least have a rough idea of where the heck you are.
We hope this game mode will finally help you and your friends truly enjoy the crazy gameplay full of incredible parkour, powerful explosions, OMG moments and treacherous "completely accidental" friendly fire.
Let us know what you think in the comments below!

UPCOMING CONTENT, WOW!
Hiiiiiiii everyone!
Okay, here’s what’s coming soon, and then we’ll tell you about more stuff that will come after the “soon” stuff.
‘Our Park’ Update
Coming soon. April 2023
· Parkour Challenges Game Mode (like the game, but with even more PARKOUR!)
· Parkour Map-Creator integrated with Steam Workshop (you make the levels, we’re tired.)
· New weapons: Gravity Saw and Gravity Grenade (to slice and kaboom your enemies away)
(Gravity Saw in action)
· New Hats (cuuuute!)
(Hats: Fox, Winner and Precious)
Take a look at one of our Parkour Levels in action, made by one of our totally normal, human, non-gamedev testers: Sometime in the near future, we’ll also expand the Map-Creator to support versus maps and MORE! (but what could the “more” mean?! *child-like imagination unlocks*)
Along with our exciting content updates, we’ll be looking into ways of improving multiplayer, and we’ll also be releasing small fixes here and there throughout the year.
Platform Cross-Play
We’d like to take this opportunity to announce that cross-play between PC and Xbox will be available this Summer, with PlayStation joining slightly later in the year! YAAAY!
With Platform Cross-Play, there will be many more Heckers for you to play with and shorter queuing times when jumping into a server.
NEW Playtest!
A new playtest will be available tomorrow! We’ll tell you more tomorrow.
SpiderHeck is part of the tinyBuild Vintage Sale with 20% OFF until January 27th and blah, blah, blah.
Seriously though. Crush your opponents, pull some incredible web tricks, and tell your friends that this is the best company game out there, and now is the time to finally buy it already!
