Changes


  • Increase slider for Trader items (you can buy more than 10 items now);
  • Changed the region name during Multiplayer connection, instead of game options;
  • You can now use Exotic Fish Bait with different rods.


Fixes


  • Fixed error with Bee Hive (and Aquatic Traps) for online, now it will harvest correctly;
  • Some Fishing Rods were missing, but now correctly fixed (you can find it while exploring for treasures).

Hi everyone!

We have a new update ready. Today we've got:

NEWS

  • New storage buttons: you can now pass all items from storage to inventory (and vice-versa) if they are the same type (only works with stackable items);
  • New item quantity drop and split for inventory and storage chests.

CHANGES

  • Improved performance during rain and snow;
  • Increased Max level cap (up to 99) for your character. This will affect the amount of HP you have with level-ups;
  • You can now rearrange Barns, Pigpens and Chicken Coops;
  • Many of the game logs have been removed to improve performance.

FIXES

  • Fixed wrong Kickstarter tag for “Landlords”;
  • Fixed wrong localization for Metal Detector (item was removed long ago);
  • Fixed null error for controllers in main menu;
  • Fixed details of items for crafting or building that were not displayed when using a controller (for items that could not be crafted or created);
  • Fixed Delete Prompt window when deleting an item from inventory, for controllers.


NOTES

The updated roadmap

Hello friends!

Today we are presenting the updated roadmap for Spirit of the Island. We've had a big and long look at all of your feedback about the game and after some discussions decided on a most realistic roadmap for the present year. Please do note, that this is only about new features and improvements, regular bug fixes will continue as usual.

Now, to outline some things:
- In September we plan to vastly improve things that everyone is asking for, mainly inventory and the map of the game. We'll bring drag and drop, better handling with the controller, map will have new visuals and pointers and so on. It should be a very good. improvement.
- For October, we'll be working on Greenhouse - a brand new building that will act like a house for your plants at Winter. It will have upgrades, several floors and lots of space to plant and decorate. Since it will be movable, we'll also add that option to your house.
- November might look kinda "meh", but trust us, it's a big and complex system and requires a lot of work. We'd like to even have multiplayer marriages between players as well and this will need a lot of testing and development time.
- And finally, December. We plan to add Pets and Banking this month, which will add another level of depth to the game.

Hello adventurers! How is it going?
Today we are introducing a new update to you. We appreciate your feedback and are already working on the next improvements!

New
Added a special effect which will show the energy radius of power generators and solar panels;
You can buy more bags from the Trader on different Seasons;

Changes
Changed Crafting and Creation button colors to avoid confusion with the locked buttons;
Decreased Power Generator and Solar Panels energy radius (it is a bit smaller now);
Changed all costs for bags;
Improved the rate at which tourists show up.

Fixes
Fixed mouse cursor disappearing in the main menu when playing with a controller from the start of the game;
Fixed more Solar Panel texts which stated that you needed an energy box to use them;
You can't added equipped items to the Museum now;
Fixed pathfinding near Hospital at the Town (some NPCs were getting stuck);

Hello!

We've prepared a fresh update with new fixes and balance adjustments. Thank you everyone for your support and feedback!

CHANGES

  • Increased the chance to find the last 3 best backpacks when you open chests;
  • Increased the chance to spawn a quest at the town board by 100% - now there will be at least one per day;
  • Changed all Gift prices (made them lower) to adjust the balance and fix some exploits;
  • Improved controller buttons highlights;
  • Office table does not require energy anymore;
  • Toned down tourists' visual effects, so they aren't as heavy performance wise;
  • Toned down the chance of rainy weather.

FIXED

  • Fixed an issue with players having 2 separate main quests in multiplayer, that's was preventing them to finish the main story;
  • Trader wasn't showing new items for trade at social lvl3, we fixed that.
  • Changed description for barns;
  • Now crafting recipes properly show up if you are playing with a controller;
  • A bug which prevented tourists from coming to your Island after a few in-game days is fixed;
  • Townsfolk won't get stuck in weird places now;
  • Adjusted the UI rotation when walking near some buildings and objects;
  • Mouse cursor won't be visible at all times now;
  • Changed some terrain in Town where players could get stuck;
  • Adjusted music in the main menu;
  • Fixed water bottle sounds.

We have made a pack of hotfixes to the last update.

CHANGED

  • Default (old) camera angle will allow you to play the game as before (it won't change to the top camera near rocks for example);
  • You don't need to disconnect your controller now. It will work in pair with KB/M.

FIXED

  • Fixed visual glitch in museum and in some other regions;
  • Changed Elder's behaviour: she won't give you new quests until you finish the main story;
  • Updated the description of dirt and hammer;
  • We fixed a bug when RMB didn't apply as a default setting for camera. WARNING: your custom controls will be reset to default after the update! Please remap them again and sorry for inconvenience.

Hi!

Thank you for supporting Spirit of the Island! We have our very first update ready and it addresses a lot of things that you've asked us about.

NEW

  • New icon on screen when you are inside your Build Mode zone;
  • New vertical rotation option for camera: you can hold right mouse button to rotate your camera! For controller, please use right thumbstick;
  • Now if you are near a hill or other terrain that blocks your vision, the camera will automatically rotate upwards;
  • Added FOV option to the settings menu;
  • Improved the resolution support: you can freely resize game's window now. It should work with ultrawide as well.

CHANGES

  • Greatly improved controllers support: improved navigation with controllers, added D-Pad support, improved navigation with left and right bumpers;
  • Changed default camera angle (from 40 to 30);
  • Decreased Thunder light intensity (half);
  • Increased day's length: from 25 minutes for 24h in game to 40 minutes for 24h in game;
  • Interaction and Jump controller buttons were changed to better fit the UI design.
  • Decreased poison damage across all sources;
  • Made high level creatures a bit more stronger for well-geared players.

FIXES

  • Characters won't load with the wrong skin color now;
  • Spanish localization fixes;
  • Build Menu now works properly with a controller;
  • Combat Boot now gives proper defense bonus;
  • Rocks in the cave near player's house now drop items correctly.

UPDATE 1.1 IS COMING SOON

Hello friends!

Today we would like to talk about the release and our future plans.

We held a Kickstarter campaign with a certain road map and a set content plan. We’ve had a promise to our backers to release everything originally planned this Summer and we did exactly so, with all originally planned content.

So why did we have early access in the first place? It was done to have an opportunity to work on the game with our community. A lot of changes and fixes we made during the early access are based on your help and feedback. And we are really grateful for that.

What about QoL and future updates? We are going to release a new patch tomorrow with new improvements and fixes. You can find a list of changes below. Also we are going to add inventory UI and few more QoL improvements next week. And we want to add drag & drop as soon as possible.

We will present an updated roadmap next week. We already have tons of ideas, but we're looking closely at your feedback now and we are ready to add new QoL features there. Please treat 1.0 as a feature complete milestone. It’s the game with everything originally planned plus more from your feedback. And we won’t stop here.

The work on the project WILL NOT stop anytime soon! Moreover, we will continue to support the game in 2023. We are working on porting the game to consoles already and we will start porting the game to mobile next year. We have promised and we'll have full cross-platform co-op between ALL platforms, including mobile. Isn’t it fun?
