While we're still working on the major changes, we couldn't miss the chance to update the game and introduce the small but important ones. Not a long list this time, but we know you'd like them.

๐Ÿ”น[UPDATE][CTF] Map layout, gameplay, and visual updates


  • New animations and interactions with the Resonator when you deliver the F.L.A.G. key.
  • A delay was added for the F.L.A.G. to respawn after being delivered.
  • Wind tunnels were added to the Resonator rooms as a simpler escape way.


๐Ÿ”น[UPDATE][VOICE CHAT] Voice chat in battle is now team based
UH Lore's Take: Arx has been pushing for encrypted voice comms forever. "It's just common sense! How do you stategize if enemy can hear your EVERY SINGLE WORD?!"

๐Ÿ”น [VISUAL] Loadout Screen
Updated visuals for the loadout screen with new UI elements and improved navigation. We've also changed how gun cards look to represent your newly acquired rewards better.

๐Ÿ”น [VISUAL] Gibraltar AR updated
Visual rework for the Gibraltar assault rifle.
UH Lore's Take: Nigel seems to be happy about the change. "With age one acquires an appreciation of beauty. And this gun now is a thing of beauty."

  • Laika's holographic clones now won't stand on the dropped guns.
  • Bot difficulty levels are sorted properly in the list for custom games.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Starting today, the game will be available only in the UK and European countries. With the restrictions on the regions, we want to ensure we can provide our players with the best experience regarding server connection quality and the number of online players.
All players from other countries will be able to subscribe to the notification and receive an email once the game is available in their region.
This is a temporary measure, and we hope we will welcome our fans from other regions soon!

The servers are live from Friday, September 9 (7PM CET) until Sunday, September 11 (10PM CET).

Update 0.6.3 is live; it is the BEST time to grab your friends and get into the fight. Well, you didn't miss all of that SECRET stuff in the steam-giveaway channel, did you?
Let's get straight to the point. We have some improvements for you today.

๐Ÿ”น[UPDATE] Moonshine Run Layout update
Updated to make it more spacious, with less demanding platforming sections required to reach areas around the barn.

๐Ÿ”น[UPDATE][CTF] Key return timer
To return a key to your base, you now need to stay on it for several seconds. The more players are returning a key, the faster the process goes.

๐Ÿ”น[UPDATE][CTF] Matchmaking update
This mode is excluded from regular matchmaking and is only accessible now via custom lobbies. We will keep working to improve the bot behavior and make other adjustments based on recent feedback.

๐Ÿ”น[UPDATE] Custom Lobbies Players limit
For custom lobbies, you can now set the maximum amount of players allowed to join. If you want to play 3v3 Conquest and don't want more players, there is an option to arrange that.
UH Lore's Take: As Carnival loves to say: "It's not the numbers that win the war. It's dedication and skill."

๐Ÿ”น[UPDATE] Post-battle Sequence Hotkeys
Instead of using the S button to skip through post-battle screens, you can now use Esc.

  • The news widget now switches pages properly without jumping from one to another randomly.
  • Post-battle loading screens with lore information can now be read again and won't be auto-skipped immediately when loading finishes.
    UH Lore Take: Dash especially loves browsing the news on her datapad. "Keeping the finger on the pulse is important. We can not change the world if we ignore it."

Hey, Fighters!
The servers are live until Monday, August 29 (10PM CET). No time slots, no pressure. Take your time and explore the changes we've made to CTF!

Another great news is that our team is at Insomnia Gaming Festival this weekend! If you're in Birmingham (UK), you're welcome to visit our booth in the Showcase Zone, play SquadBlast, chat with the developers, and participate in offline tournaments!

Patch Notes 0.6.0 - August 19, 2022

There's no time to explain - hurry up and get your hands on the new CTF mode and a new map! We want to remind you it is still in ALPHA. All of the visuals are not final. You might also encounter several known issues.
But we will be happy to receive your feedback even at this stage to make sure we can do our best and provide you with lots of fun and a genuinely competitive experience!

๐Ÿ”ธ [NEW] CAPTURE THE FLAG MODE (4VS4, 5VS5)

Mission Control has announced a new mission type - Capture the F.L.A.G. These missions will require 4 or 5 fighter teams and will take place in much larger environments. The objective is to steal the enemy F.L.A.G. key and deliver it to your base while preventing the enemy from doing the same.

๐Ÿ”ธ[NEW] CHOWDOWN MAP (CTF)

The first CTF map is ChowDown. Satellite images are rather blurry. The Mission Control geeks joke, "it's because it's an Alpha Version." Well, they should just update their satellite software.

๐Ÿ”ธ[NEW][VISUAL] NEW ON-CLICK INTERACTIONS

On a similar note - Laika and Nigel have started this weird trend of pretending to be game characters and "play animations" when someone points and "clicks" on them. Sergeant Swiatej, the UH Airfield Director, is not amused and claims it distracts the crews from doing their jobs.

Dash is becoming a bit of a poseur. She now has a new default pose whenever she enters the Main Hangar. UltraHorse wants to remind everyone that the Hangar area should not be used as a selfie backdrop ๐Ÿง

๐Ÿ”น[UPDATE][VISUAL] Shortstop revolver update

News for the gun enthusiasts: It seems Bobby Jack's Shortstop revolver has undergone a redesign. It's too early to tell how users will react to the change, but early reviews are encouragingโ€”a new, modern look, with some changes to the way it reloads.

- Dash has been reprimanded and will not dash through the floor on the Muertigo location. Says she's sorry.

KNOWN ISSUES:

  • Scoreboard only shows top 4 players from each team in CTF mode.
  • Trail color may be of the opposite team for some players.
  • When you carry a flag you have both a F.L.A.G in your hands and a flag icon.
  • Laikaโ€™s clone in some cases can spawn with a F.L.A.G weapon in her hands.
  • Nigel learned too much stuff from Hantu and now appears invisible during the map loading.

2๏ธโƒฃ The servers will be online for the WHOLE WEEKEND! From Friday 7PM to Sunday 10 PM (CET). No more time slots. Play whenever you want!

3๏ธโƒฃ It's time to start training for the SquadBlast ๐Ÿ† tournaments! We will announce a bunch of them taking place OFFLINE in the UK soon. Stay tuned and follow our Discord announcements! Don't forget to check our giveaways.

๐Ÿ”น We also added SquadBlast FAQ to Discord. We hope it will help you become more familiar with the game, its universe, and us.

This week we will release only minor updates and fixes while preparing for a major update next week, introducing a new mode and a new map for 5vs5 battles! ๐Ÿคฏ

๐Ÿ”ธ[NEW] ASSISTS ADDED
Mission Control has received numerous anonymous complaints about fighter stats not reflecting assists. (Arx, if you want to post an anonymous complaint, changing your nick to "Concerned_Citizen" is not enough ๐Ÿ˜… ) In the interests of full transparency, fighters will now receive an assist if they hit an enemy or heal an ally 3 seconds before the kill. We all are happy now, right? ๐Ÿ˜†

๐Ÿ”น[UPDATE] Improvements to chat behavior
Mission chat improved. Again. New state of the chat when it's out of focus but still present on the screen. Plus numerous fixes to state transitions. We do not know who's tinkering with this all the time ๐Ÿ‘ป .
But we're thankful for that.

๐Ÿ”น[UPDATE] Battle Achievements visual update
UltraHorse is rolling out the Battle Achievements Initiative. Instead of old, similar medals, fighters will now be awarded for a wide range of actions in the battle with the new gorgeous ones. All thanks to the anonymous suggestion of Concerned_Citizen ๐Ÿ˜‚ .

๐Ÿ”น[UPDATED] Added new loading screens after the battle
After much deliberation, UH Mission Control has decided to ease access restrictions to public internet on the tactical datapads. After each mission, the access is restored, and you can browse news headlines while heading home to the base.

- The Level Progress bar next to the Player Widget in the top left corner now shows the correct amount of Valor. Thank you, @Tiank , for pointing out that one.
- The guys in the armory have gotten their act together, and now there will be no more "NEW" notifications if there are no new guns available for the loadout.
