We hope to release a more robust Practice / Tutorial in the future, but for now, we hope you are able to make use of the Lite version.

UPDATE LIVE: Squids get fabulous!

For this update we are showing Squids and Mechs some more love by adding even more customization options!



- Customize Squid Soldier Helmets, Torso, and Pants!
- Customize Mech Canopies, Torso, Arms, Legs, and even decals!
- Moonbase Map optimizations

Balance Changes
- Increased Squid bowl acceleration and ground friction. In general, Squid bowls should feel about ~50% more agile.
- Reduced the threshold that the CAH jail will replenish its rescue timer to from 25% of max to 10% of max.

Hotfix Build is Live!


GREETINGS EARTHLINGS!



A hotfix build fixing some issues is now live! Please grab it when you can!

- Potential fix for one of the 'Connection Error' bugs
- Fixed a bug where player's movement would stutter around after getting out of a jeep/mech
- Potential fix for the kill feed UI disappearing
- Fixed the map voting bug!
- Spread out guard points so that AI Guards do not clump up on the same spots in King of the Hill
- Moved around some resources on Mars
- Fixed bug where players were receiving the special Halloween Mech customizations even though they did not participate in the event. **If you were one of those players, you're welcome. You get to keep them, lol**
- Fixed the Chat box overlapping the Quit button when opening the in-game menu while it was visible
- Added a kill volume on the southern cliff face of Mars so that players can't get stuck on the ledges

Valentine's Day, Lunar New Year, and NEW "King of the Hill" Mode Update!

We're proud to announce that our third game mode is now available to play! If you haven't already, grab the latest update and play some King of the Hill!

How it works
Be the first to capture 4 landmarks as they appear before the other team! In between objectives, gather resources to help upgrade your team's weapons.



Map Voting
We've also implemented Map Voting so that players can vote for their favorite game mode to play after each map!

You can STILL get the Elf Costume by end of the day today by midnight PST!

CHANGES
- Removed Squidmas map themes
- Small update to loading screens
- Small update to server list UI to show the game mode better
- Added map HUD icon next to minimap to indicate that you can toggle between large map and minimap
- Some more optimization with foliage and lighting
- Assault Mechs no longer rotate towards direction of movement. They now act like Squid Tanks where you must manually rotate them

BALANCE CHANGES
Balance change to Invisibility:
-Warning radius increased to 600, from 500.

Balance changes to weapons:
Revolver:
-Range increased to 650, from 600.

Tommy Gun:
-Range decreased to 450, from 500.
-Rate of fire decreased to 0.11s, from 0.1s

Freeze Ray:
-Range increased to 700, from 650.
-Bullet speed increased to 1350, from 1300.
-Reload time decreased to 1s, from 1.25s.

Dual Revolver:
-Range increased to 650, from 600.

HMG:
-Damage per bullet increased to 7, from 6.
-Rate of fire decreased to 0.11s, from 0.1s.

Assault Mech:
-Added 0.2s of invincibility after being auto-ejected from an Assault Mech

BUG FIXES
- Destroyed Squid Tanks no longer block other vehicles
- Fixed Tech 4 abilities (airstrikes/mass abduction) not damaging Assault Mechs
- Fixed the ocean on Main Street causing Harvesters to 'splode and die

AI Hotfix and Mech Update Live! Last chance to grab the Elf Costume!

HOTFIX LIVE ON STEAM!

- AI clumping up around the flags, making it impossible to capture or rescue flags should be fixed! Hopefully this will help with games that have been lasting WAY too long (it won't solve it of course, but it has definitely been affecting games recently).
- Mech health has been increased to 600 from 400.
- Map rotation has been re-ordered (however, none of you will notice this change at all. Just something we did to help break things up for new players that join an empty server)

REMINDER

Squidmas Part 2! NEW GAME MODE!

This is part 2 of our Squidmas update! Here's what's new!

New Game Mode: Capture and Hold is the name we're rollin' with.

  • You still capture resources to level up weapons
  • You must capture the enemy flag and keep them in 'jail'
  • While you have the enemy flag jailed, you must also protect your own flag
  • If you have BOTH flags in possession, the timer will begin to count down to 0
  • The team with the timer that hits 0 first, wins.
  • The timer will pause whenever a team loses possession of either flag


You can now tell AI what to do!

  • Pressing the "Follow Me" emote (UP directional on gamepad, or 1 on keyboard) near any AI that are NOT performing any tasks (meaning, they are just running somewhere) will cause them to follow you.
  • Only 1 AI can follow you at a time
  • You can dismiss the AI by telling them to 'Defend' (DOWN directional on gamepad, or 3 on keyboard). Telling them to 'Defend' doesn't mean they will stop where they are. All it does is cause them to stop following you and they'll continue on their merry way. This is probably just placeholder text as we do not yet have any localization for this new feature yet.



  • You will now get ejected from Assault Mechs when they are destroyed.



  • An alert icon "!" will now pop over your head when an invisible squid gets too close to you. This is what we're experimenting with as we realized invisibility can be pretty OP for squids that sneak up real close with an RPG or minisquid gun, etc.


Balance/Gameplay Changes



Minisquid Gun:
- Post-bounce range increased to 1000, from 800.
- Movespeed slow decreased to 0.025% per shot, from 0.075%.
- Movespeed slow duration decreased to 2s, from 3s.
- Damage over time increased to 10 over 2s, from 9 over 3s.

Minisquid Blaster (Upgraded version of Minisquid Gun):
- Post-bounce range increased to 1250, from 1000.
- Movespeed slow decreased to 0.025% per shot, from 0.075%.
- Movespeed slow duration decreased to 2s, from 3s.
- Damage over time increased to 10 over 2s, from 9 over 3s.

Antimatterizer:
- Beam width increased to 130, from 100.
- Max charge time reduced to 1s, from 1.5s.
- Damage per hit increased to 6~13, from 5~12.
- Bonus damage against vehicles increased to 50%, from 0%.

HMG:
- Damage reduced to 6, from 7.
- Tracking reduced to 25, from 50.
- Reload time increased to 4s, from 2.5s.
- On-hit slow increased to 30%, from 25%.

Medi-Gel Launcher:
- Healing increased to 10, from 6.

Flamethrower:
- Rate of fire reduced to 0.06s, from 0.05s.
- Clip size reduced to 60, from 80.
- Range reduced to 160, from 200.
- Now does less damage to targets more than 80 units away, with damage decreasing with range.
- Overheat recovery threshold reduced to 25% ammo regen, from 50%.

RPG:
- "Laser sight" reticle now extends out to the max distance of its rockets.
- Now properly aims at targets above or below the user.
- Aim time increased to 1.75s, from 1.25s.
- Projectile speed reduced to 1200, from 1400.

Auto-Turrets:
- Fixed numerous bugs; turrets should now be targetable again, and all weapons should now damage them properly.
- Health reduced to 100, from 150.

Invisibility:
- Human players within 600 range units of an invisible Squid player will now see an "invisible squid nearby" icon above their character.
- Aiming weapons like the Rifle and RPG now breaks invisibility.

We hope you enjoy the new game mode! Game modes will currently rotate every four maps. We have plans to implement a voting system in the near future. Keep an eye out!

Merry Squidmas!

SQUIDMAS IS HERE!





A very merry Squidmas to everyone!

The Winter update is now live on Steam! We squeaked it out early and wanted to make sure it was ready by the time our community had their Game Day tomorrow December 8th at 7pm PST! Hope to see you on the battlefield!

Here's what changed in this update:

Part 1 of Squidmas:

  • All maps have been winterized!
  • There is now Voice Chat!


Fixes:

  • Passengers and Drivers in Assault mechs should now properly show the correct kill/death credit in the kill feed.


How Voice Chat works:

  • Press the right thumbstick down on Gamepad
  • Press the V key on Keyboard
  • To mute specific players, press the C key (or back button gamepad) to access the Scoreboard. Move up and down to highlight the player you want to mute
  • Notifications of who is currently talking will appear above the kill feed
  • Only 3 players can talk at once. Any player after the 3rd player speaking will see the notifications above the kill feed blink red and a small sound will play
  • You can turn Voice Chat off via the Sound settings in the Option Menu
  • Currently, Voice Chat is 'All Chat' and not Team specific--YET.

HOTFIX UPDATE LIVE



Greetings all! We have a hotfix build that is now live! Please update to the latest build. Here are the following changes:

Balance changes for Frag Grenades:
- Decreased explosion radius to 100, from 150.
- Decreased damage to 45, from 50.
- Increased stock cooldown to 5s, from 4s.

Balance changes for Medi-Gel Burst:
- Decreased stock count to 1, from 3.
- Decreased stock recharge time to 3s, from 10s.

Assault Mech balance changes:
- Increased walk speed to 325, from 275.
- Increased health to 400, from 300.
- Decreased Smash recovery time by ~0.75s.
- Increased Smash glancing-hit stun duration to 1s, from 0.67s.

Balance changes for Medi-gel Burst:
- Increased lockout duration between uses to 3s, from 1s.

More quality-of-life improvements for invisibility, on both sides:
- Squids now see themselves as outlined when using Invisibility. Outline is blue when hidden and red when revealed.
- Secondary weapon target preview icons, like handcuffs or tank busters, are no longer visible on invisible targets.
- Status effect icons are no longer visible on invisible targets.
- When first handcuffed, invisible Squids are revealed.
- Tank Busters now reveal invisible Squids while attached to them.

Bug Fixes:
- Friendly Mechs and Friendly 4x4's should no longer collide
- Friendly Mechs should no longer collide with each other
- Grenades should now more reliably play their explosion VFX on a direct hit
