We also removed the dynamic lighting plugin because we noticed that people who did not have AMD or Nvidia graphics cards were experiencing a lot of lag.
We did however try to emulate the atmospheric vibe of the lighting effect through various tinting and fog techniques. They will improve over time. This should work well though even on Intel GPU/Integrated graphics.
Skills and animations have been improved. Projectiles such as plasma, bullets, lasers, and railguns have been improved.

Star Shift has been updated to version 0.5. Normally we try to update once per month, but it's been about 2 months. This however is a pretty big update. We fixed a lot of bugs, added more character development and story. We also added an army training/equipment system.
Every icon in the game has been replaced with originals as well (well at least 95% of them). If you're wanting to try the game, now is a good time.

Thank you to everybody who has alpha tested our game so far. A number of small bugs have been brought to our attention and they are now patched with this update.
1. First level being too hard.
2. Items not disappearing when used in battle.
3. Addition of item drops for enemies.
4. Walking through walls on certain maps.
As a workaround for now, if you experience combat balancing difficulties, there's a difficulty slider in the options menu.
Version 0.4 will be coming out in a few weeks and will have many more improvements added. The 0.39 build fixes the biggest 0.38 bugs.
Thank You,
