A big thank you for the guys who bought some virtual goods the other month. I was able to buy a mattress to sleep on. This better sleep has improved my programming productivity and health. I've moved from cramped coding in a corner on an 1800s sewing desk to a custom desk I built out of a butcher's block. While I had to evacuate my place without water because it became unlivable, I will not stop making this game for you. I'm a survivor and the entire world can be against me, and I'm still making this game for you. Thankfully a couple of you dropped me some bills, and it's improved my health and productivity. Giving to AAA companies generally makes the gaming community to them shutting down studios... Giving to Indies helps water a garden of beauty by which everyone can harvest. I thank you so very much, it's nice to sleep on a cushy bed instead of a few sheets over metal. But that's my survival story so far... pretty metal. First Time: DownTime
I've never done this where I said a patch needs downtime.
I just got hacked by a SSD destroyer as many have recently.
I didn't lose data or a backup, but pushing this update is incredibly difficult because my patch drive is disabled. I've been moving houses and it's just wild how little resources I have now + how much work I need to do to get basic things done.
To top it off, I'm developing mostly airgapped since of some unstable events in the realm of cybersecurity.
Rest assured, this patch is pretty cool, and once I get my workflow, we patch as often as possible, even bi-weekly if possible.
Right now Starfighter General is down, hopefully up within a few hours, this is chaos over here. Just admitting it brings me some peace. You have no idea how difficult it is being an indie dev, but we're the guys who raise the bar so the gaming community has better product and culture.

Impending Story Patch 1
I'm trying to patch bi weekly or monthly now.
Every patch will have a story line in addition to techs.
This will make it a fun run to stop in, beat the story missions and see the new techs.
The goal is fully functional Space Opera with techs the world's never seen before.
The next patch is impending tomorrow or in the next few days I hope.
I ran into problems with living arrangements, old house too toxic to live in, this one doesn't even have a proper computer desk, my monitor is like on an 1800s sewing machine and my keyboard in my lap, but I will not stop developing this game!

You can see AAA companies shut down competition when they get money, but watering the indies with some love means we raise the bar, so AAA can't just keep selling recycled culture. In fact AAA is limited on cultural expression due to so many pressures, they get cancel cultured. Artists like myself, respectful to humanity, am able to run wild with imagination and do things you never saw before... My limiting factor coding is basic day to day things like having gasoline to get to the gym and shower, basic things like paper towels to clean or easily prepped food so I don't have to spend an hour trying to make beans taste good. When you empty your wallet to AAA corporations who rip you off time and time again, your soul feels empty... When you water the indie community some, your soul gets watered... We raise the bar and force the video game community to do better. Just a reminder that it does matter who you use your money to vote for... AAA is always going to be a let down, you tried that, try an indie with 150,000 hours experience game devving who's fighting through sickness and trials just to get you a solid game out. It's mostly an asteroid and mobile ship frag fest right now... It betrays the massive amount of systems underneath! Every 2-4 weeks I want a patch out with more story line, and more techs... Eventually we'll get to the grand Space Opera and fleet building that everyone's wanted since we thought of space games. The new King of MMORPG will rise because I am not doing it how everyone else does and skimp... This is EVERYTHING YOU IMAGINE GOES IN, nothing held back, the dimensions of untold realities, multiple forms of ground combat: FPS, Open world 3d fighters like 1v1 arcades used to have, real time tactical, sports interfaces.
Your MMORPG you want to play for decades, so we designed this for end game... And the size of this game might inflate to 10 Terrabytes over the next decade...If it's a MMORPG that I'm only going to be charging a small fee each month, we can all buy an extra hard drive for a game we dedicate ourselves to.
Right now, its just the dawn, a step, a plateau, an asteroid breaker + reward giver... You get one ship per day to try it... When you KO, you get the traditional Clash Base interface...

I'm proud of this game I've designed since 1985 upon hearing of DARPA net on a computing magazine.
In 1989 I designed a Pencil and Paper RPG after not being happy rules sets had armor as a statistic to reduce damage.
The RPG I made was a post apocolyptic, pulpy, comedic, Bounty Hunter in space game called: Intergalactic Bounty Hunter.
My friends and I played it all through Jr. High and most everyone who played said it was the most fun RPG they ever played.
We were cultured too, having played most every main stream RPG at the time. We put in over 10,000 man hours in play testing.
I started making it into a MMORPG in 1992, in Quick Basic using wild techniques for memory management people would be jealous of today.
So I started coding this MMORPG before the first MMORPGS began coding... Does this mean, I am releasing the earliest MMORPG that began dev? You could say that.
Unlike rich corporations who attract greedy people who want money and don't care about games, I'm the opposite.
I don't care much about money and I only care about games. I see money as a way to employ more workers to make this game better, or when we're full steam, to help the poor around me.
I'm happy, just playinig video games, enjoying the flowers, the trees, birds and it will sound lame, the bees... I was just looking at some bees go from flower to flower before I wrote this.
Man's best place is in God's nature, enjoying the beauty of creation and feeling the nice weather... A lot of thankful reflection happens there, but then one might get bored and want to play
with others in video games. This is what I care about, video games and nature. The push and shove of mankind, where people hurt each other so they can feel better about themselves,
that's nonsense. Corporations shutting down other gaming companies so they don't have to try as hard to make money, that's nonsense. Us very very poor indies need community support,
but gamers routinely get duped by the same corporate players promising more than they deliver. I'm delivering a product, if you like it, and you have means, please buy virtual goods even just
as a tip for it will make the game better. Giving money to the big super corps only makes games worse unfortunately. It's the two ways of looking at life: Are you in life for yourself and
don't care about those around you? Or are you happy living in this world, can get satisifed with gaming and beauty and love? Love vs control... These are not just the core elements of humanity
and eternity, they're fun things we reflect and learn and build upon as we play this video game Starfighter General. Very very brutal things happen when a conflict between hate and love happen,

--Three forms of Ground Combat: GROUND COMBAT FORM I) One is a classical First Person Shooter (FPS) with vehicles.
GROUND COMBAT FORM II) One is tactical Real Time Turn Based Game(RTTG) from top down, almost isometric. RTTG will give you the feel of a classic orthogonic chess like game with cover, vision and such, yet everyone plays at the same time. RTTG mode happens when you enter populated towns, not because the server can't handle infinite players in a small zone, but because it feels more intense when any action and fight can start from the shadows. Movement is freer and faster when no one has fights going on nearby.
GROUND COMBAT FORM III)One is a 3d Fighter Game you'd see in Arcades from the 90s, but with the ability to change targets.

The MMORPG has been live a few times with multiplayer enabled. This time we're not turning it off this time. We go live tonight, tomorrow or very very soon!
Story & DEV Arc:
The reason to come in and play these early patches is to follow the unfolding storyline of your player, and your crew that you meet along the way.
I've been told by nearly everyone that my Space Pulp Bounty Hunter story lines are better than any scifi they ever heard of. Expect really really really really really exceptional story writing. You can tell I'm really good at writing by how many times I wrote really.
As you come in and play through the story arc, you'll be leveling up, and powering up for future patches.
Once we finish the story arc together and the player gets warp drive to leave The Sol System, then the Grand Space Opera begins!

Starfighter General used to be known as Intergalactic Bounty Hunter. It's an unpublished RPG I played mostly with friends in Jr High and Highschool since 1989. It now has has over 40,000 man hours development and coding. This is not your run of the mill MMORPG. This MMORPG has been in design since 1985 when I heard of Darpa Net in Compute Magazines. Yes, this Starfighter General was one of the earliest MMORPG ever designed. Even more epic, Starfighter General began as a MMORPG before the first MMORPGs ever started their coding! But even more EPIC THAN THAT: Starfighter General will have techs and game play the world's literally never seen. Are you stoked? I'm stoked! I been working on this for over three decades and it's been very very hard to have no community support, but maybe you guys and gals can help me cross the finish line like a champion!

9) Soft perma death makes it so you can have huge fleets and lose them. When you blow up, you get a PINBALL screen where you get rewards you'd never get in game, depending how well you played. When you're done, you can start from a better position depending on loot/stats/etc you got. It's fun to blow up! It's fun to rise and fall for it allows for a rush of power gain faster than a normal MMORPG! Lets gooooo!
If you want this game to happen faster, buy some virtual goods as a tip even if you don't need em. The big players in AAA will use and abuse you and they don't need the money. Indies really do develop your favorite games faster when they have enough money to buy food and water. So look at the virtual goods store as a crowd sourcing, a tip jar, a way of pushing the gaming community to a better place.
You can help me achieve the vision faster by encouraging my development with purchase of virtual goods. While most people live for money, selfishness and worldly possessions, I live to make and play video games for the spirit of Love of humanity. I live in a house without water and I'll be evicted soon unless I can get some help from the community. Even even just a little can make this game develop months or years sooner than it would.
