A brand new control scheme (turn and go!) as suggested by the community. Why not give it a try? Discover which of the different styles works best for you.
The mode select screen has been tidied up a little bit too, as it was getting unwieldy with too many options.
And as always, a selection of bug fixes and tweaks.
v1.3 Update!
The brand new v.13 update brings a dash of polish to the menus. Just a small tweak, but I think they look a bit nicer.
I've also added another enemy type - this one flies across the screen firing 4 lasers at a time in an X pattern, good luck taking them out!!

v1.2.1 Update!
You can see the new initial 'red' background color in the screenshot. They cycle every time you start a new game, but also change if you open/close the pause menu.
Improved ps4 pad support (i.e. it should work now...).
Trail color matches your Starfighter.
Different colour backgrounds (can be tuned off in options).

v1.2 Update!!
Coming fast on the heels of v1.1 is v1.2
Fixed (hopefully!) controller issues with Xbox 360 pad.
Added 2x new Hard Modes.
Subtle tweak to the smart bomb bloom (might still be a bit OTT).
The main point of this release is actually the controller fix.
The Hard Mode additions are a bit of an added bonus, I say 2x, but it's basically Hard Mode with classic controls and Hard Mode with twin stick style controls. Each of the 4 variants has its own leaderboard.
Please do let me know if you have any issues or suggestions, I'll try my best to resolve or respond to them.

v1.1 Update!
Hi everyone.
The first update for Starfighter Neon is here!
New 'DS' game mode. This mode lets you use a keyboard to fly and mouse to aim/shoot - or the second stick on your joypad if that's your thing.
Scores from this mode get posted to a new leaderboard, as it's quite a different experience to the 'classic' game mode.
Leaderboard fixes. I've hopefully made the leaderboard code more robust, so posting scores should work better. Sorry if this has caused you any stress, do let me know if you still have issues.
Please do let me know what you think, any problems or ideas and I'll see what can be done for the next update.

Launch Day!
It's out!

Back from my break, I've been doing further testing and it looks like the leaderboard seems to be receiving scores fine, but I will be keeping my eye on it.

The Leaderboard
Hi everyone,
If anyone's playing the Beta, it looks like there -may- be a small issue with posting to leaderboard.
I'm unfortunately away for a week, but hope to investigate and fix asap!!
One way or the other, I'll get it working!
