V0.0.6 - Patch notes

New UI and weapons updates and a few other changes.
Miniboss progress update.

The first miniboss is coming along well. movement systems are working, while hit checks are giving me a little bit of a hard time. But I'll figure it out soon enough. Hopefully the next update will see the new boss in the game. I'm very excited for you all to experience this boss!

Changes:

<*> Ship Stats added to UI
<*> Score moved from top of screen to below Ship Stats
<*> Weapons no longer drop to base level when picking up a new weapon type.
<*> Hit detection systems have been updated
<*> Weapons "Homing" and "Cosmic Ray" now deal more damage.
<*> The session duration is now displayd on the score upload screen and no longer displays as 0 seconds.
<*> Stand in player explosion effect when player dies. This will be updated with a full effect later.

The entire controller can now be utilized. Instead of only the press buttons being usable, you can now use the thumb sticks as well.

  • Thumb Sticks can now be customized.

Fixes:

  • Fixed fatal crash error caused by a missing variable.


Changes:

  • Left and Right indicators have been added to menus to make menus less confusing.
  • Gamepad Thumbsticks can now be used to control movement. (This can not be customized at this time)


Balancing:

  • Tweaked the duration of I-Frames the player has after getting hit.
    - Decreased from 3 seconds to 2 seconds.

Changes and Fixes:

<*> Fixed a bug where the game window would start almost entirely off screen when first loading the game.
<*> Cosmic Ray weapon level 4 has been disabled until it can be fixed.
<*> fixed a bug where you could start and restart the score uploading sequence by pressing the input key/button before the score upload timer was complete.
<*> Weapons now revert by only 1 level instead of reverting back to level 1 when collecting a new type of weapon.

Planned for next patch:

<*> Make thumb sticks function by default on gamepad.
<*> update the Cosmic Ray Weapon to have a functional weapon level 4.
<*> add player stats UI during game play.

STARR RINGER Early Access Launch

Welcome to STARR RINGER; Early Access!

It's been a long time coming, and has taken me many attempts to get to this point. But I'm finally hear unleashing my first game onto Steam! Thank you very much for your interest in my game, and I hope that I'll be able to meet the expectations I've set for myself. And with your help, I know I can make it happen!

I will be working hard to make sure that each update adds more content and improves the experience playing STARR RINGER.

Now let's save the universe!

Slight delay on release

While I wish I could have released STARR RINGER today, I unfortunately was greeted this morning to some ugly bugs showed up and I really don't want to have my first indie game release with system breaking bugs. It wouldn't be a very good look.

But, do not fret, STARR RINGER will be releasing. And when it releases, it will also have a really awesome trailer to boot!

Thanks for your patience, as I somewhat fumble my way through the process of releasing my first game on steam.
