We are just beginning to tell our story and share our vision with you all, and we are just so thankful for your kind words and honest feedback (all of you and all of it).
It's a true privilege to be part of such an amazing community.
We'll keep putting out new information regularly. Today we added two new videos for you. We hope you like them! (Like, literally, on YouTube - lol).
A big shout out and THANK YOU to Xander, Catalin, and John for working so hard on a holiday weekend. Some of you missed social events, but we appreciate you so very much.
We're also working with reviewers and streamers*. Today we sent keys to several outlets, but we're just getting started! Now onto the main event:
SIX WAYS STARSHIP SURVIVOR IS DIFFERENT
1. The wave shooter where you stand in one spot is fun, but the genre is overpopulated, and I lost interest in them. I want to move around and explore, and I believe Starship Survivor delivers on the 'dungeon' style game feel. We built real levels that increase in size with difficulty and that are procedurally generated. You will get lost. Which brings me to my next point:
2. No two games are alike. A big part of Starship Survivor is strategic decision making, especially at harder levels. It's like you have to solve a new maze you've never encountered before every time. You have to explore it, and then familiarize yourself with the layout of the ship, because enemies can come from any angle. As you power up rooms, the waves get stronger, and if you don't plan ahead, you can be pinned down and lose the game. How you survive the starship is different every time.
3. Endless waves of zombies and robots games get boring fast. When we designed the game, we didn't want to make a mindless shooter. We wanted to create suspense. Which is your friend? The darkness or the light? Darkness and monsters creep up on you, light and they come at you harder. We will continue to tweak this until we get it right, but the elements are already in the game today.
4. Our early release version comes with a variety of guns, which you can discover in secret crates. Other games have this too, but what they don't have is resource management that's tied to your weapon. Our game forces you to make hard decisions.
5. We love RTS games; we love tower defense games; we love shooters; we love arcade .. so we married elements of each genre into one unique experience.
6. Your weapon visibly gets stronger as you collect crystals, and weaker as you spend them. But not only that - when you get attacked, but you can also lose crystals, and your weapon gets weaker. Also, you may have no choice but to spend your crystals on tower defenses, temporarily weakening your hand weapons. You have at least four different weapons to discover, and each weapon having four upgrades, that's already 20 options. We think our weapons can get a lot cooler yet, and so we have a lot of new and fun weapons planned for the coming days & weeks.

We did it !
After many nights burning the midnight oil, I am so pleased to share our game with the world.
We really wanted to get it in your hands by Christmas so that you can play it on your brand new headset, so there are a few things that didn't make it in today's build, but we have tested the game and think you will enjoy it.
Starship Survivor is a unique game. I believe we have pushed the genre forward. Here are some things that I enjoy:
- The movement is done really well
- Weapons are like arcade: they get stronger as you collect more crystals
- You can build towers and manage your defenses
Although I admire the game, Raw Data was too intense for me personally, so I wanted Starship Survivor to be a little more suspenseful and strategic.
There is more to come in updates. For now, please accept our game with the most humble gratitude from all our team. Please give us your feedback, that's what early access is for. We are here for you!
