It's almost the end of December, and the global update of the prologue is already at the completion stage, we hope you've been waiting for this. We have been working on this for a long time, and due to unexpected difficulties associated with factors that do not depend on us, the update was delayed... Fortunately, by the end of this month or early 2023, we will release the long-awaited prologue update.
Let's say right away that this update, although ready, requires improvements! You will be able to get acquainted with the plot part and see some synimatics. And we will also give a little spoiler about this update: in it, you will meet one of the dangerous monsters, will you be able to survive, is this monster real or is it all imagination? (The answers to these questions, you will find yourself in the game).
After updating the prologue, we want to provide you with the first gameplay, boss battles. We chose an aspect that could let us know exactly how experienced we are as a team and whether we are going in the right direction.

This is the fifth and not the last developer diary, in this issue we will tell you:
1) About the future update of the game, what will be waiting for you in the near future;
2) What consensus have we reached on the general concept of the project and its method of dissemination.
Let's start with the fact that we are almost at the final stage of processing the prologue. Previously, the prologue itself was a kind of “PLUG” between the levels and represented little of itself for the plot, with the exception of the newspaper. Now we are preparing for you a more structurally assembled concept with the outlines of the plot. After carefully working through our mistakes and rethinking the vision of the project itself, we came to a more accurate concept.
Namely, that our game is moving from the Survival genre | Survival in a new unexplored steppe called a Session, Party project. This means that our team is currently working on the MMO component, but the basic mechanics that we promised earlier will be preserved and rethought. Yes, you understood us correctly, you can start playing together with your friends and go through all the content together.
We have moved a little away from the topic of the prologue, let's tell you in detail what awaits you:
You are a journalist who has to solve mysterious fires related to illegal activities of a large pharmaceutical company. In the prologue, you will have an exciting start to the whole story, namely, familiarization with the central laboratory of the “company of evil” and the first monsters that will haunt you throughout the game.
intrigued, huh? We hope so.
And to be more serious, we really carefully prepare the prologue, as we want to show what our team is capable of. We agree that “The game will not go far on one prologue” and after the prologue, the next part of the content will be developed immediately. Yes, it turns out that we will assemble the project partially, piece by piece, but this will allow us to introduce innovations in STAY ALIVE more rationally and deliberately.
Also, to update the prologue, we will present you a story comic based on our game. Each major update will be accompanied by a new chapter of the comic to immerse you in the project in more detail. In the first issue, you will be able to get acquainted with the first test subjects, who will then become terrifying monsters and plot intersperses of the history of the very “company of evil”, namely D.P.R - these are the initials of the company itself, which is headed by billionaire Okira Yokushido. But also before the release of the comic, we will post a short story about the past of this company.
Now let's move on to the question of monetization, concepts, and so on.
Earlier we said that our project is moving to the Session MMO section, therefore the game will develop gradually, new mechanics, items, as well as the plot will be added. As for the plot, we can safely say now that we put a lot on the starting chain. We cannot say exactly how many hours she is, but be sure that she will not disappoint you.
If you have a question about the DLC, we will answer it immediately.
Yes, the story DLC will be in STAY ALIVE! Whether they will be within the framework of a free update or sold separately from the game, we cannot say for sure at the moment, since all forces are spent on the implementation of the prologue and its components. In general, we adhere to the concept of full F2P with the possibility of microtransactions for cosmetic character and equipment improvements, as well as acceleration of pumping. That is, you will not be able to become MEGA-DUPER STRONG for real investments, but you will only be able to speed up the pumping of levels and improve your appearance. It is also now a very popular type of monetization, like a subscription / season pass. At the moment we have no plans to introduce it, but we do not exclude its appearance in STAY ALIVE.
We also immediately want to reassure players who may think that “ordinary” costumes will be worse than “donat” ones. You are wrong, we adhere to the concept that any item can be obtained without investment, but also we are not going to somehow separate F2P players from those who invest in the project. All costumes / skins, etc. that can be introduced into the game, will be of equally good quality. Ie, a donat suit will not stand out much by anything. Yes, you can buy it right away and put it on, but it is also possible to get it in the game itself, without a single attachment.

To begin with, we want to apologize for the fact that there has been no news for so long. A long and painstaking work is underway on the project. In this developer diary, we want to tell you what the project is waiting for in the future and what you should expect.
1. Updating the prologue.
Our team has worked out the prologue and improved the plot. At the moment, we are focused on recreating everything that the screenwriting department has proposed. In this prologue, you will be able to learn more about the initial history of the game and the character himself, as well as meet the first monsters in our game.
2. Improvement and refinement of the “Mysterious Island" location
Our team is also working on the gameplay part. Together with the prologue, the first game location, namely the “Mysterious Island”, will be redesigned. We didn't like its implementation, it was more of a test version for ourselves. As a result, it was decided to redo and refine it and radically change its gameplay value.
3. Character Editor Development
After the designer of clothes and characters joined our team, we began to think about the implementation of the “Character Editor”, at the moment we are not ready to provide it to you in all its glory, since it is now at a very early version of development. Our goal is to make a beautiful initial model, from which you can start in the character settings. Where you can customize: face, body, makeup, hair and starting clothes for the character.
4. Game genre change
Now we are discussing that we want to change the direction of STAY ALIVE, namely, so that our project is not survival in the open world, but a session shooter with MMORPG elements. At the moment, this is still at the stage of discussing project development plans. We will inform you about the decision in a separate post.
5. STAY ALIVE may switch to a shareware distribution model
.
Yes, you completely understood us correctly, we plan to make STAY ALIVE partially free. What exactly do we mean by the word partially?
The fact that a cosmetics store may appear in the game, which will not affect the economy and the difficulty of passing the game in any way. Also, all items from the store can be obtained in the usual way, through the game. We also plan to implement a system with DLC. This DLC will develop the plot of the game and add more and more new mechanics and gameplay moments.
We will immediately tell you the answer to the question that you might have, namely, “- Donat can spoil the whole balance in the game.” Don't worry, we are not going to “kill” the game with a solid donation, it will be purely cosmetic. No one will get any advantage, only an improved appearance, and that's all.
6. I bought the game, did I lose money?
No, you didn't lose the money you spent. We are very grateful to you that you trusted us and purchased our game at such an early stage. In gratitude, we will give you a lot of bonuses, namely:
- Early access to testing game updates;
- Pre-creation of the character before everyone else;
- A set with a costume for your character and a game transport, which kind of costume and transport we will inform you later when the detailed models are ready.
At the moment, this is the least we can provide you with, but the list will expand as the game develops. We promise that the money you spent was not spent in vain.
7. Introduction of the mount system [Mounts
]
Here we will be brief, this system will be in our project, but it is not in the foreground. Since we have more important aspects that require serious improvement. Namely: gameplay, mapping and server part.
We have put these 3 aspects first of all for us, as we want to provide you with a better gaming experience so that you will not be disappointed in our game with you.
At the moment, this is all we can say about the development of the game STAY ALIVE. This is our first major project, and we don't want to lose face. We will try to improve our project so that you, our players, will not be ashamed to play STAY ALIVE.

During the release of the update, we noticed that sometimes the mouse in the game falls off, while the solution is this - press ESC (you will be thrown into the pause menu), and then click continue and that's it!

- The English language has finally appeared. The interface has been completely redesigned for translation, as well as subtitles.

We recently released our first build of the project in early access. And many probably noticed that after that there is no news for a long time.
We would like to inform you that right now we are developing the location of the Prologue, or to be more precise, we are detailing it and filling it with everything necessary. Therefore, we can already inform you that the development of the update is in full swing. There will be something to please you.
In the first upcoming update, we will be able to introduce you to the main character's place of residence, his house and the streets where the hero lives.

Early Access: Today is June 8th, 2022!
Today is Thursday, so it's time to start! We know the release date is a bit off, but we're back on track. We are happy to announce that our build has been approved by Steam, and therefore we are ready to finally release it. Here it is the first beta test version for early access. Right now we will open our doors to our community.
You will be able to download the first build right now after purchase. Also on the day of release and within a week after release, you will be able to purchase the game with a 15% discount.
We would like to inform you that this is the first build and while it contains an introductory game, there will be changes in the build in the next update releases.
We are also waiting for your feedback and recommendations for improving the gameplay. This will support our project and give you the opportunity to develop further.

About some subtleties, about the release of the game:
I want to start with a rather significant news: "We will have to postpone the release date from June 1, 2022 to June 7, 2022 , due to unplanned work on the release of the project " - The Head of Studit.
But the transfer will not affect our plans in any way in finding early access, and communicating with our community.
Now about the main thing:
Let's talk about the project itself, enough bad news.
The first build of the project, or as we call it " a very vulnerable version ", is ready to be released just a few days ago.
We will present to you the first part of the project, namely, in the common people, "PROLOGUE" is not a big attempt to show our first sketches in the project, as well as to introduce you to our main character, an American journalist. Yes, you understood correctly, now we are not ready to show the main part of the game, but the development is in full swing.
A few words about the development of the game itself:
This is our first brainchild created on the base game engine UNREAL ENGINE 5. We are trying to create the future of the gaming industry, using completely new technologies. We are not trying to copy an old creation and make a new one out of it, and then sell it. Our goal is to create something new from new developments, and as a result, surprise and show our community new technologies in a computer game every time.
Now we are not ready to reveal what exactly will be in the prologue, but we hope that you will like it. (there are literally a couple of days left before the release of the build:)
